A charming and very well-presented villa which is located in the delightful village of Puyricard, just 15 minutes north of Aix-en-Provence and 30 minutes from Marseille, Marignane Airport. Marseille itself is just 30 minutes drive and the French Riviera lies beyond.
The villa is part of a gated community providing a quiet and secure environment for guests. Access is obtained via electric iron gates which are operated either by code or remote control (which will be provided). The villa sits within enclosed gardens with south facing terraces, flower beds and well-tended lawn surrounding a swimming pool exposed to the sun for most of the day and enjoying exquisite sunsets. It is not overlooked, offering privacy and seclusion.
The entire property has been renovated in Provencal style during the last 5 years and offers complete comfort and relaxation for guests. There is a private parking space beside the villa plus other parking available in front of the villa from the residence.
The villa has 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms with toilets and an additional downstairs toilet, providing comfortable accommodation for 8 people. In addition, it has a main kitchen on the ground floor, serving the dining area and main lounge plus a kitchenette on the first floor, where there is a second dining area and lounge. There are televisions on the ground and first floor. The first floor, with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchenette and lounge can be accessed separately from the main house. Thus, the villa can either be utilized as one large property or two independent self-contained living areas which would suit two families.
Apart from the internal dining areas, there is a large dining table on the main terrace plus smaller tables on the terrace surrounding the pool. A large parasol and a variety of umbrellas provide shade for all tables. The terrace furniture is completed by a selection of loungers, settees and armchairs. A plancha is available for those desiring to cook outside.
The villa also benefits from a laundry room with washer, dryer and ironing board.
A bus service runs from Puyricard to Aix-en-Provence (journey time 15 minutes) and the bus stop is just outside the community gates. Aix-en-Provence has markets which operate most days of the week. However, shops tend to be closed Monday and Sunday afternoon. Puyricard has a market on Friday, located in the village square beside the church. This is just a 5 minute walk from the villa.
There are several restaurants in Puyricard, including a wonderful, family run, pizzeria just outside the community gates.
This area of France benefits from an average of 300 days of sunshine per year. However, while Marseille and the coast are susceptible to the cold Mistral wind, Puyricard and the surrounding area are largely protected from its influence.
The region of Provence has much to offer for those visiting for the first time and even to those who have enjoyed its hospitality in the past.
It is my sincerest wish that you enjoy your stay at the villa and are able to sample the delights of Puyricard, Aix-en-Provence and the wider region of Provence-Alpes-Cotes-d’Azur.
