About Brian McCabe

I own another home on the same lake and purchased this cabin so my relatives wouldn't have to stay with me when they came to visit. I am renting out all of the unused weeks.

Brian McCabe purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Brian McCabe chose Minnesota

This cabin has over 300 feet of lakeshore on a level lot. It has a beautiful view of the lake and over 17 acres of wooded land that provides for deer hunting and exploring opportunities.

Perfect Honeymoon

  • 5 of 5

We had the BEST time at this genius-ly laid out cottage. I second everything all these other reviews say! We walked through the woods, caught some fish, did some kayaking, toured around the lakes in the motorboat, explored the area, made fires, practiced archery, cooked food, watched Netflix and lazed around.

The Wi-Fi works great --we watched Netflix every night no problem.

The boat motor works great --it just doesn't like to idle in neutral for that long.

There's life jackets, outdoor & indoor games, books, fishing stuff if you forgot yours, coffee filters etc. on & on. Brian even stocks you up with plenty of cut dry wood, but I chopped some just for fun. Everything.

We also had a blast exploring the inter-connected lakes and seeing the other cabins & boat-houses, and realized we had one of the only beaches --almost everyone else had a steep hill to the water & no sand. The other cabins were also clustered together, so I'd say this is one of the sweetest properties on the lake(s).

We can't wait to come back with more people to show off our "find"!!!

Quiet, cozy and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful property and cabin on a wonderful lake in Northern Minnesota. Brian has all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay at his cozy and clean lakefront home. The property is remote and quiet but still close enough to enjoy going out for the best pizza at Bimbos and a great dinner at Riverside. Plenty of books to read and movies to watch if you just want to enjoy the quiet of home. Thanks, Brian for a great long weekend. I love Side Lake.

Memoies will last forever!

  • 5 of 5

This was the best vacation!!! Brian McCabe went over and beyond to make this vacation memorable for my family.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful! It was fully stocked with everything, from games, movies, books, towels, supplies, anything you need he has it! There is even a ton of outside games to play.

My husband, my boys, and myself enjoyed going out on the fishing boat and pontoon everyday to fish and have fun the lake. I enjoyed my coffee every morning in the gazebo watching and listening to the loons. My sons 17 and 13, enjoyed every minute of our week long trip. They were never bored. They had so much to do. Thank you Brian for letting us rent out your property. You are the most gracious host anyone can ask for. We love Camp 46! We look forward to coming back next year and making more memories!!

Luxury and Isolation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a long weekend here with our dog in Mid-October. The lake was beautiful with the changing leaves. We enjoyed walking around the property and were lucky enough to see deer and trumpeter swan from the gazebo. The cabin is appointed with all the nicest amenities (including a great gas stove), and lots of little extras which we appreciated. The sky is absolutely gorgeous at night, and the wall of lake-front windows allowed us to stargaze in the warmth of our cabin! Brian was easy to work with, and I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway.

Great R&R getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were looking to rent a nice private cabin where our main goal was relax and enjoy the fresh air and we were not disappointed. The cabin has all amenities you may need. It was very clean, newly renovated and I loved the full kitchen. My husband and I cooked all of our meals during the visit and left the property only once to take a drive and enjoy the scenery. We loved the seclusion and privacy at this property. The purpose for our weekend trip was to get away from the noise of the city, to relax and have peace and quiet. This was the perfect location for that. But we still had the ability to connect if we wanted to (free WiFi). The owner, Brian, is very easy to work with and told us to make ourselves at home. We will definitely be returning to this property and would love to experience all four seasons at Camp 46.

Awesome Place for family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We went on trip with our young son and dog. Beach was walk in with a sandy bottom that was great for our little one. Kayaks, tubes, rafts, paddle boats, and fishing boat were available to use for no additional cost along with a bunch of lawn games. Kitchen was fully stocked with anything you would need along with gas and Webber grill, extra refrigerator and washer and dryer. Little one had a fun time playing in screen room while mom and dad enjoyed relaxing in it. Built-in bunks had ventilation and were very comfortable and extra bunk house would be great for the in-laws if they came for a visit. Cabin had good privacy and the area around it was nice and quiet and we enjoyed many walks. We will be back.

Notes:
Camp 46 is a cozy cabin with a large level yard built for fun. The swimming is great and some of the best fishing on the chain of lakes is just out from the dock. There is a nice fire ring, with an ample supply of firewood provided, for evenings of hotdog roasting and S'mors. There is a really cool tent site across a foot bridge, in the trees just above the water with its own sandy swimming beach. It is 200 feet from the cabin and visible from the kitchen window. Perfect spot for the kids to camp on their own but still close enough to for comfort.
