Guestbook comments from the owner

Hello May and Abi,

We're home again. We've had a wonderful time in London and the appartement was a very nice accomodation. With children you can't make "long" days comparable to when you travel with adults so it's nice to have some space to relax. For the children it was the first time in this city and they certainly want to come again. We did a lot of sightseeing but there're a lot more thing to see and do, so maybe till next time.

Thank you!

Kind regards

Annette & family.

Much nicer than a small hotel room

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is located in Queen’s Park with great transport links to the main tourist attractions of London. Buses stop outside the door and the Overground rail links are just 3 minutes walk.

The apartment is spacious well equipped with modern appliances, cooking utensils etc. If you do not wish to cook there is a good selection of fine dining eateries nearby and local pub menus. Access to the apartment is a little difficult but worth the climb up the outside staircase to your London retreat.

We had an extended stay and really liked the area with the famous park a pleasant walk up the street. Great for picnics and the children's play time.

If you wish not to be over powered by fellow tourists, this could be for you. Contact May now. The owner is an excellent communicator.

Handsome flat in London

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at May's handsome flat for 8 days in June. It is very spacious- 3 bedrooms, large living room, lovely kitchen, and an outdoor area in the back. It's in a very neighborhood-feeling area with restaurants and shops. It takes about 30 minutes to get into London for sites and parks, etc. This was my 4th visit to London and I like being out a ways, so the commute was fine. The flat sits above shops and buses stop right in front. The tube and overground are about a 5 minute walk. In the neighborhood I would recommend The Whippet - restaurant with surprisingly good food and lots of locals. Also, Chine- a shop of old & new crockery, garden gear & gifts- with very nice owner. Things to know about the flat- access is from the back and up a flight of outdoor stairs. Also, the one bathroom is on the lower floor near one of the bedrooms. The other 2 bedrooms are 2 floors up. These were not an issue for me but important for those who may not do stairs.

May was quick to respond to emails and the flat was very clean. Lovely & comfortable stay.

Great apartment in good location

  • 4 of 5

We arrived on the Friday for two nights and we were very impressed with the apartment; bright, airy, tastefully decorated. It is located above shops but you don't notice them or the road at all. Access was a little cumbersome with luggage but parking was available and the apartment was very secure. The location is great, with shops, bars and restaurants on the doorstep and good transport into central city. There is a gorgeous park behind, 2 mins away as well if you have kids.

The kitchen is fully equipped (no microwave for those who use them, we don't but some may), with a large hob and oven, we were glad there was a dishwasher too. Lots of glasses, crockery etc. and sociable as located in living area. There is a nice dining table and seating area in the lounge so a good place to relax.

There is a separate loo which is good if you are at full capacity. The shower room is ok, lots of hot water and space.

We used the room with the futon, which is great to have although my brother slept in there and he said the bed was very uncomfortable unfortunately as it has a bar running down the middle of the mattress area. It isn't suitable for a long term stay on the futon.

The main bedroom is lovely, with a fantastic super king bed. I found that there was a lack of a full length mirror, or a decent place to do make up etc as the only mirror in that room had no shelf or place to put make up except on the bed which isn't ideal but just my own thoughts, others may not be bothered. The second room is quite sparse - no mirror, no bed side table or lamp, but is a light room with a comfy bed.

Overall we enjoyed our two nights there and would definitely stay again, and recommend the apartment to others.
