Beachfront 800 sq.ft 1 BR/1Bath Unit located in the heart of lovely Kihei on the beautiful island of Maui. Wake up to tequila sunrises and afternoon sunsets. Relax by the pool or hangout by the Jacuzzi. After grilling your Meals on the Stainless Steel Gas Grills, or preparing your meals in the privacy of a fully equipped kitchen; simply gaze from the balcony enjoying nature's tropical paradise, including migrating whales who've come out of the cold as well. There she blows! When you want to descend your Condo in paradise venture forth to the large beach park in front to play volleyball, tennis, and frolic in thei sun and surf. Full time security . We can boast security from onset of night till the dawn. A security guard is at Kau Hale Makai .Can be reached by phone if needed.. The entire complex is peaceful and quiet during evening.We have a staffed lobby and activities director available.

Recent upgrades inclu e new bathroom shower Moen faucet and bath faucet; new GE refridgerator upper double doors :filtered water despenser ice maker ;: lower pull out freezer; new Moen kitchen pull out faucet; new Moen faucet in bath sink ,new gargage disposal.

New easy sliding door screens and glass door sliders.

Possible discounts depending on low and peak season, length of stay. etc.

FYI Maui trade breezes keep Maui temps right in the comfort zone 75 to 85 F most of the time. These breezes can blow dust on the condo sliders and sometimes find their way into the unit. The result is that it's the price for paradise. Our cleaning folks do a great job trying to keep ahead of the dust. Th

What makes this apartment unique

I've traveled all my life from hotel to hotel as an airline pilot. Hands down I promise you this is a little piece of paradise. Plus CENTRAL AIR,, a unique feature in Kihei. No need to cross Kihei Road to get to the beach. Just stroll out the elevator onto the lawn to the beach.


Car: recommended

Malia Johnson, activities concierge, will be glad to acquaint you with all available activities. They range from sight seeing hellicopter tours, kayak rentals,snorkeling tours etc.. Malia is available at the condo lobby in the Plumeria (South Tower) FYI Maui trade winds keep the temps cool during the day. Sometimes they blow dust and sand. This accounts for the dust and sand getting under the sliders. It''s the small price for Paradise.Aloha

The stay was a good value. Property was well located and clean. Provided a great respite from the chaos of Maui. My last trip to Maui was 20 years ago and it has become over built.

The condo provided an escape and great views of the sunsets.

Lovely property but unit was dirty

Very nice property with pool, hot tub, good bbq area and nicely kept grounds. Our unit was very dirty and in need of updating and decent lanai furniture. Obviously had not been cleaned in quite some time and no cleaning service included. Had no beach or extra ammenities. Saw other units and they were very nice and had ammenities. Good laundry facilities. Would recommend staying at the complex but definitely not this unit.

Owner's Response: As I indicated in our conversations we trie d to coordinate a appointment regarding your wishes to provide maid service after the first week of your stay. My cleaning person called to arrange a time to help clean the unit.She was told that you did not want her. I believe there was an issue about broken handles on cookware. We immediately responded by replacing them with new cookware. As is indicated in the dashboard that Maui trade winds can carry dust from the old cane fields even under the sliding windows. Very common. This is the price we pay for paradise. As you can see from our review ratings and very positive remarks that many guests have a very different view of unit. We hope you also enjoyed our Hawaiian motif of our unit. We recently upgraded our A/C system with a state of the art temperature control panel.Villlage by the Sea is the only local condo that has central air. We are the first who have installed this amenity. Village by the Sea just replaced the Antherium Tower Cooling Chiller. Other amenties include Ralph Lauren Comforter and 100% egyptian cotton sheets and Hawaiian quilt. If you are planning to return please give an opportunity to serve you. Aloha Dennis Hughes

A Great Budget Friendly Place!

(Sorry this review is being done so late.) -MAHALO Dennis! We had such a great stay! The listing description is very accurate as it is a great affordable Kihei condo!! The property is a bit dated, with odds and ends for furniture/decor, but more importantly everything is kept clean and comfortable!! It has everything one needs, and they even provide beach towels and a cooler. The view from the condo is so beautiful -just the thought makes me miss it! The pool and BBQ area were awesome, the grounds of Kauhale Makai are well kept and clean! We also loved the location of the condo as it proved to be a great central location to everything on the island, and that was a huge help when it came to going to visit with the ohana and friends. Arrival instructions were perfect, and Dennis was very responsive, and friendly in helping with any questions we had. The ladies in the lobby were friendly and professional in processing checking in and out of the condo. I would definitely recommend this property to others, and will stay again!

Love the view out the window!

Dennis and Rosie were very helpful and responsive to our inquiries pre-trip and during our trip.

The unit was conveniently located close to the designated parking spot, close to elevators, the pool & jacuzzi, and the laundry facility is just across from the unit. Meaning no painful walks when you are dragging suitcases, coming home with handful of groceries, or carrying dirty laundry basket.

Everything we needed for a week's stay was available: kitchenware, towels, Internet, bed sheets...etc.

Waking up every morning to the incredible view was the best thing. You don't just get the water view, there is the mountain and palm trees, together, the perfect combination.

The building and unit furnishing is not new, but well kept and clean.

We could see ourselves staying here again if we come back to Maui!

Stay at Village By the Sea, 2/9 to 2/16/16

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Village By the Sea tremendously. The location was great – we could enjoy views of the Pacific Ocean from our balcony, and we could easily reach all areas of the island for day trips (Road to Hanna, Mt Haleakala, etc.). Many restaurants were close at hand – especially good were Amigo’s, and Three’s Bar & Grill. Safeway grocery store and other shopping is just a short drive away at the Piilani Village Shopping Center. Dennis gave us many good tips on restaurants, shopping, and things to do in advance of our arriving at his condo.

Dennis’s condo was great for us. We put his large cooler to use during our day trips. The balcony provides a great view of the ocean and Pat says she saw whales from the balcony. The condo complex is very attractive and has many amenities including onsite pool, grills adjacent to the pool, and walk out access to the beach.

We enjoyed our drives around the island with major highlights including: going on a Whale Watching Tour from Slip 87 Malolo Charters, Maalaea Harbor, watching the surfers (board and wind) at Ho’okipa Beach Park, the black sand beaches at Keanae Peninsula and Walanapanapa State Park, hiking inside Haleakala National Park at Kipahulu, the Pipiwa Trail (2.5 hrs) to Waimoku Falls (walking thru the bamboo forest), visiting the upcountry town of Makawao (much more relaxed than the coastal town of Paia which was jammed by traffic), driving up to the top of Mt Haleakala (temps were a mild 56 degrees F when we were there and very comfortable) and watching many bikers making the downhill descent, visiting the IAO Valley State Park and seeing the IAO Needle, and going to the Maui Ocean Center.

I highly recommend this condo as a great location for anyone looking for a great economical central location to visit all parts of the island. Dennis – thank you.
