Glass Mountain Inn is the brand new venture from the creators of Brooklyn's Glasslands, Manhattan Inn, and Whirlybird. Former Phosphorescent bass player and Cafe owner Jeff Bailey and Brooke Baxter Bailey packed up after 14 yrs in Williamsburg to move their family to the beautiful catskill mountains. Jeff volunteered at the local fire department and they are now in the early stages of creating a community around the historic inn with artist residencies, barn concerts, pop up dinner events and more, beginning with wonderfully curated Upstate rental escapes— with or without a car.
Both being in the customer service business and the arts, Brooke and Jeff make the perfect vacation home owners, paying great attention to the small details that make any guests stay just a little more special. They are happy to invite guests from all over the world to experience the beauty of the catskill mountains while staying at the Glass Mountain Inn.
Brooke Baxter purchased this cottage in 2014
We love Phoenicia! To us this is best area of the Catskills. We are close to all! We beleive vacationers should have options and that is what we provide. You could cuddle up on your cozy couch with a glass of wine and watch netflix gazing at distant mountains or walk to town for great meals and shopping. You can also access hiking trails and tubing on foot. A short drive and your in Woodstock, Saugerties or Big Indian.
Take the bus from NY and walk to the house in only 5 min. We will always pick you up from the bus for free ;)
Stayed here with my wife, mother in law and 7 year old son. We were in the cottage - SO cute! The gas (?) fireplace heated the home up nicely and an extra bonus was a heater in the bathroom - (which was the size of a bedroom!) no chilly morning bathroom visits! Brooke and Jeff left a nice bottle of red wine- extra touch. The beds were amazing - Tempurpedic?? - and great for a family of restless sleepers. Our tv addicts adored the Netflix and Amazon Prime video selection. Good deal for a good time. Maybe we'll be back next Christmas!
Getting around: Walk to town! We are literally only a few minutes walk to the corner of Main St. and Rt. 214.
