About The Owner

We are two very curious persons with the desire of discovering the world and its inhabitants, finding out the simplicity of small gestures and beauty beyond appearance. That is why, with our small business, we would like to give the opportunity to foreigners to discover our beautiful city, its secrets, our world, hidden corners, and the stories that are still whispering in the alleys, the ruins, the monuments and the markets ...

Why The Owner chose Quartiere XIV Trionfale

The apartment is strategically located in the lively and cool Vatican area at a short walking distance from St Peter's Basilica, Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums and from a great shopping area. It's not far from the ravishing Piazza Navona and the suggestive Campo dei Fiori and at a comfortable distance from the classic archaeological area including the Colosseum and the Foro Romano. The public transportation is available close by: bus stop at 50 m, Underground at 50 m (Cipro stop). The apartment is a 40 minutes taxi ride from Fiumicino Airport. We will be happy to make arrangements for airport pick up and delivery and to provide a car or a Limo service during your stay. At your arrival your guardian angel will welcome you providing keys, city maps and all the basic information. Upon request, we can supply a breakfast package, groceries and drinks.

What makes this apartment unique

You are only 10 minutes away from the centre of Rome, but in an absolutely unique and peaceful area.

You are in an apartment surrounded by a green area, the Metro stop at 50 meters, the bus stop at 50 meters, supermarket at 5 minutes walking, a beautiful park very close, a shopping area at 10 minutes, and the opportunity to enjoy candlelight dinners on a terrace with an amazing view over the city…what else?

Great location and well presented

  • 4 of 5

Had a fantastic stay in Rome. The apartment was well located, we could walk to most of the attractions. I thought the €60 for cleaning was very expensive and it would have been nice if toilet paper was provided as we arrived on Easter Sunday. Having said that, the shopping we ordered was waiting for us when we got there and the agent was great.

That apartment was amazing. The balcony was the best. It's in a charming neighborhood by Cipro metro stop so it's easy to get anywhere. The manager was wonderful and made all my transfer arrangements too. Would love to stay again

This charming apartment was perfect for our first Rome visit. Close to all we wanted to do & see!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I prefer to walk everywhere we can when we visit a new city, so the location of this little apartment which is in a neighborhood near the Vatican, and extremely close to the Metro, was just great for us. This 5th floor apartment is as just described in the listing: It's small and cozy, bright and clean, with a wonderful terrace with a view over and past the rooftops of other buildings all the way to the dome of St. Peter's Basilica and beyond. My husband would recap our hours of sightseeing by pointing out different parts of the city that we had visited as we ended our day on that terrace. In the mornings we would watch the doves and sparrows as they played in the sky directly in front of us as the church bells rang in the distance. It was like a combination of a spectacular airshow and foreign art film to us Americans on holiday.

Like most buildings in the Eternal City, this building is an older one, which in this case means it has a lot of vintage charm like high ceilings and other great features, but no elevator. If you're people like us who always prefer taking the stairs to being ferried up in a lift, or want to see some numbers move on your FitBit, this place will be no problem for you. The view from the apartment is definitely worth the many stairs, and the terrace is a perfect place to enjoy whatever wonderful edibles you've brought home with you that day with zero guilt after climbing 99 of them. I can assure you that I had no worries whatsoever in polishing off any fabulously caloric local dishes, no matter how rich or full of carbs. Important though: If you or any of your party have the slightest problem with exertion, these stairs are NOT a good idea for you.

As for service: Communication with management during and after booking was excellent. We chose the pick-up service from the airport, which was certainly best for folks like us who had no desire for a car or wish to navigate the streets and parking in Rome. Georgia, who handled our check-in and check-out, was super helpful, friendly, accommodating and considerate. She had ready for us all the necessary items we would expect, along with some lovely surprises such as cold juice, bottled water and some local treats to boot.

I would absolutely recommend this apartment for any couple with the energy and stamina to deal with the stairs. Disclaimer: My husband carried my suitcase up and down for me! :)

Great apartment

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay here. The apartment was cozy and the renter was very nice. The subway was close to and food close enough to walk to dinner. The only negative was the stairs we had to climb to get to the apartment. I already knew about this from previous reviews so it was expected.

Not happy with our short stay

  • 2 of 5

We were supposed to stay in this apartment for 3 nights but left after the 1st night.

The area is what bothered us the most. This neighborhood is quite far from everything and I didn't feel 100% safe. The metro was a quick 5 minute walk but not much else was. You have to take the metro or a cab unless you want to walk endlessly in the hot, humid weather.

- I also felt the apartment wasn't exactly what was presented. Yes, the patio has a great view but the plants were all dead, the table was partially broken, there were no lounge chairs like shown and it just was not an inviting place to spend time.

- The bathroom needs major updating. It is very old with broken and missing tiles and did not feel clean at all.

- There is an AC unit but it does not work very well. The apartment is extremely small but the bedroom, with the door open, was always extremely hot.

- The apartment is very loud at night. We kept all shutters and windows closed yet I still heard the neighbors outside being very loud until the very late hour at night.

- The "Welcome Basket' shown in the advertisement is nothing like what is shown. We were provided a few crackers - no sauce, veggies, etc.

We decided to move to a hotel closer to restaurants, sites and shops and were much more happy, even through it meant I lost a lot of money. I have stayed in many Home Away apartments and I will do so again but I will be a lot more cautious in big cities.

The positive I will say is communication with the landlord was great. We did not have any problems with that.

Owner's Response: We are really sorry you had this bad experience for all our future guests we want to clarify some things: - the area is extremely safe and located 10 minutes walking from the Vatican. We are sorry about the weather but Rome can be hot in summer. - the terrace has the lounge chairs of the pictures. You are right about the plants, we will install an irrigation system during summer - the bathroom is a bit old but very clean - nobody had problems with AC until now. We will check it. - the apartment is extremely silent as located on the fifth floor. As we are in Rome you cannot expect a silence like in the countryside. - all our guests are happy with the welcome basket. We do not show any welcome basket in our pictures - we are happy (at least) that you did not have any problems with us.

The apartment was really cute, but the terrace is truly what made it special!

  • 4 of 5

We went for our honeymoon and had a great time! It had been arranged (for an extra fee) for a car to pick us up from the airport, definitely alleviating some stress for us! Tiziana met us at the apartment and was lovely! She explained where everything was and how it worked and even left us with some snacks!

The apartment was very clean and cute, but the terrace is really what made it special! A phenomenal view of the Vatican and the city, a great spot to sit and relax with some wine after a long day of sightseeing. The only downfall is the amount of stairs going up, no elevator, but it's worth the climb!

We would definitely stay here again!

The apartment is located in the lively Aurelio neighbourhood, the western area of the city, close to the majestic Vatican walls and the ancient Aurelian Walls. In a couple of steps, you will be able to immerse yourself in an authentic Roman neighbourhood where you will get in touch with the customs of the inhabitants of the city, you will have the opportunity to enjoy some restaurants that aren’t yet touristic like simple and tasty “pizza al taglio” and trattorias. Summing up, this is the perfect place to savour the “real” Rome without giving up the comfort of reaching the city centre and major tourist attractions. The St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museums, the famous Piazza Navona and the charming Campo dei Fiori are at a short distance as well as for the archaeological area of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. The surroundings of the apartment are very animated offering a great shopping area and a wide variety of Italian and foreign restaurants. One of the most beautiful parks in town, Villa Doria Pamphilj, that like many other parks of the city was the country estate of a noble Roman family, is just some hundreds meters far away from us! With its 180 hectares it is one of the largest roman parks and it houses one of the best-preserved Villas of Rome. In this wonderful natural paradise sports lovers can dedicate to their training with long walks and outdoor sports, families can bring their children to have fun, play with them, enjoying nice pick-nicks and use the entertainment service of the park during the summer months.

All types of public transport are available nearby: bus stop 50m, underground station at 50 m (at Cipro). The apartment is a 30 minute taxi ride from the airport of Fiumicino. We can organize transfer service to and from the airport and/or a chauffeur service/limousine during your stay. On request, we can also provide a breakfast package and/or meals.

How to reach us:

From Fiumicino Airport: take the train to Roma Termini. Take the Metro Line A until the stop Cipro. Walk 5 minutes.

From Ciampino Airport: take one of the buses (Terravision, Autostradale) to Roma Termini. Then take the Metro Line A until the stop Cipro. Walk 5 minutes.

Taxi costs approximately 45 € from Fiumicino and 30 € from Ciampino.
