Charming Irish Channel Cottage

Bedrooms 2
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 - 4 nights

Minimum Stay
3 - 4 nights

About the property

Charming Cottage in the heart of the Irish Channel! 2 bedrooms and 2 baths with private yard and deck. Tons of old New Orleans charm with modern finishes. Just 3 blocks to the world famous Magazine St shops, a quick walk to the parade routes and just a couple of miles to the French Quarter.

My home has just been renovated, brand new kitchen with granite, marble and stainless steel appliances. Brand new bathrooms, old heart of pine wood floors through out. 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, comfortably sleeps 6. Big back deck, two outdoor eating spaces and fenced yard. My guest will have access to cable, wireless internet and a fully functional kitchen.

I love the convenience of the Irish Channel. There are so many bars, restaurants and shops within minutes by foot. Starbucks, Smoothie King, a wine cellar and public transportation is just three blocks away to mention a few.

About David Stewart

I was born in New Orleans and have lived here almost my entire life. I am a local real estate agent in the area. Real estate is my entire life. I love all aspects of it.

In my free time I love staying fit, collecting art, and spending as much time with family as possible. The great thing about New Orleans is even though I've been here my entire life, there always something new to see or experience. I love checking out the local cuisine, bars and artist that are just around the corner.

Why David Stewart chose Central City/Garden District

My home has just been renovated, and I renovated it for me. All of my personal taste and style went into this home. It's my first renovation and I did it with a lot of love. Certain circumstances have come up to where I can't stay here for now but I have no plans on selling it and will return as soon as possible. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

The place had everything needed for the perfect vacation. We enjoyed the decor and all of the subtle touches of home. We will return...the sooner the better! Thanks for a lovely time in a lovely neighborhood.

Wind Lake

Charming home close to all of the action.

This is a super charming home within blocks of Magazine Street. Pictures that David has are exactly what you get. Perfect. It's in a quiet neighborhood mixed with old and rejuvenated homes. Neighbors were pleasant to us. And we heard the neighborhood alarm clock every morning (the rooster). David is an amazing host and this home is a perfect base for your visit to NOLA. It's far enough away to get some peace and quiet yet close enough for you to get as crazy (or not) as you want. I would recommend it if you don't want to be on Bourbon Street and don't mind driving, taking Uber or the trolley to get there. Thanks for sharing your home with us. It was a perfect NOLA find.

My family recently visited New Orleans for the first time and stayed in David's Irish Channel cottage. It was perfect! Plenty of room and was very comfortable. It felt like a home away from home! Walking distance to everything we wanted to see including the NOLA brewery, Lafayette Cemetery, Garden District, St. Charles Trolley. There are great shops and restaurants along Magazine St(I highly recommend the Brick and Spoon for breakfast). David was friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

Great Stay

Loved this house. Eclectic neighborhood, close to Magazine Street and the rest of the Garden District. Only suggestion would be to install drapes/blinds in the upstairs bedroom, as it was a little bright in the morning. The home was clean and modernized.

Just ok.

This property was advertised as being in the Garden District. In reality it was on the outskirts of the Garden Distinct. Grocery stores were far away. We felt somewhat isolated. If you don't have a car, I would not recommend.

The home itself was clean and nice. We had a problem when we arrived but the owner was very responsive in taking care of it and even left a bottle of of wine for our inconvenience.

Owner's Response: I'm very sorry that you guys weren't 100% satisfied with the vacation rental. I have to be honest though, no where in my advertisement do I say this home is located in the Garden District. My description clearly says the property is in the Irish Channel. Which is adjacent to the Garden District. It's literally 4 blocks away. As far as being convenient to grocery stores and such... The closest grocery store which is a nice grocery is just 7 blocks away. Public transit, restaurants, coffee shops and bars are all just 4 blocks away. Just like it's stated in the description. Again I apologize that it didn't meet your expectations. -David
