In our early 50s Warren and I found ourselves in New Hampshire in a 5400 square foot house with our kids moving onto their adult lives. We also found all of our money and time was spent in cleaning and maintaining the house and "stuff" we had accumulated. There are times in everyone's lives when you need to sit back and think about what you want in life and tweak things to achieve this goal. For us, we did much more than tweak!
We decided to simplify life without compromising style, luxury, or beauty. We wanted to spend time "on" the water, move to a warmer climate, stop working full time, and enjoy a relaxed, fun, and joyful lifestyle. This was the beginning of Floating Bungalows.
After designing and building our first Floating Bungalow, we decided to rent out our home to vacationers. We love having vacationers come and find such enjoyment out of our Floating Bungalow!
Cynthia Billings purchased this house boat in 2014
The small house movement is taking shape all over the country as people realize they do not want to work in the rat race to support a huge home that they do not have time to enjoy.
Floating bungalows are designed to be low-maintenance homes allowing you to spend more time enjoying what you enjoy - and less time cleaning and maintaining your home.
My husband is native to New Hampshire and we spent 30 years of our life together there. We love having Northerners come stay in the cold months and take extra care that the sun and bungalow refuel them.
The combination of the luxurious space and vacation atmosphere of the Marina, along with the location of our Floating Bungalow make this a perfect vacation spot for people of all ages!
Face it, vacationing on a boat is just plain great! You’ll return from your vacation relaxed and rejuvenated. We have everything to provide you with a fast paced and exciting, laid back and quiet, or active with nature vacation! Come see for yourself why it’s great to be ON the water!
My girlfriend and I live less than 40 minutes from the floating bungalow and thought it would be a fun experience to spend a weekend there and celebrate our anniversary. The place was so well-built and maintained and the owners were extremely nice and hospitable. What can I say? It was the perfect weekend getaway and it's impossible to not be relaxed when you can wake up and walk out on the balcony with the water right in front of you. The worst part of the whole trip was having to leave on Sunday morning. I just wish we had a few more days there. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
We were in the area for a baseball tournament so we decided to stay with our pontoon and relax on the water while not on the fields. It was the best decision ever, the owners are the nicest people ever. He helped with some mechanical problems on our boat while we were away and we came back to a clean boat to celebrate the 4th on the water. Everyone at the marina is awesome and we will stay again!! I could go on forever with the great things about this stay.
My wife and I just spent he weekend here and what a treat it was! The owners built this floating bungalow themselves and what a job they did! Not enough good things to say about our weekend. The on site deli has a a chicken salad that is marvelous, every body we met from the deli to the owners to the employees of the marina we asked for directions was friendly, knowledgable, and willing to help. Turtles and catfish visibly swimming around the rear deck of boat. Quiet, peaceful, CLEAN and comfortable accommodations. Will return and recommend without hesitation. We are at the deli on Saturday, and the owner even picked up our tab for lunch. Genorous gesture, and frankly the personal attention and kindness can not be included in "travel brochure". Highly recommend!
My stay was so wonderful, relaxing and a variety of activities to keep me busy everyday. The ladies in the deli behind the bungalow (Diane, Chris and Connie) were all amazing and made us feel right at home. Their amazing cooks as well and made us whatever we wanted. The turtles were also very appreciative of our stay, making sure we fed them at the appropriate times and greeting us every morning with their beauty. I have nothing but great things to say about this rental, and have to thank Warren & Cynthia for offering such a great opportunity.
I just cannot say enough good things about this little houseboat! We went to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday and the owners were so accommodating to all of our needs. The bungalow looks tiny but it has absolutely everything you may need. It is also spotless. We felt so at home and comfortable while we were there. My two kids also had a wonderful time feeding the turtles, fishing from the porch, swimming in the marina pool and paddling in the kayaks. My whole family was very sad to leave and my husband is already to trying to find another weekend so we can go back and enjoy that relaxing porch! This houseboat was one of our very best family getaways!
My husband and I had a great stay on the 'Floating Bungalow'. The owner was very helpful and met us at our arrival. The houseboat was so adorable with all the modern conveniences. We loved feeding the turtles and just relaxing on the back porch. Perfect spot for that morning cup of coffee. I just have to mention the great breakfast we had each morning at the marina deli.
