Welcome to this three bedroom, 2 bath, historic downtown home built in 1897. It is located within a short walk of beautiful downtown Beaufort with all the quality restaurants and shops as well as the beautiful waterfront.
The house has a wealth of traditional Southern charm and is well furnished with antiques from Europe as well as original artwork. Upstairs offers Queen Size, master bedroom accommodation and bathroom with a claw foot tub. There is a further Double Size bedroom upstairs as well as a quaint second lounge room with original floors and a fireplace. The upstairs lounge has a second plasma TV and access to the balcony where you can sit, relax and watch the world go by.
Downstairs offers a dining area with seating for eight and a sitting room/lounge area complete with a brand new 40” Samsung flat screen television with Direct TV.
Downstairs also has a third Queen Sized bedroom with a desk for those who simply have to work. There is also a second bathroom.
Outside, guests are invited to enjoy some well earned downtime in the comfortable yard that has a gas fired BBQ. The yard is fully fenced and we welcome small pets.
Not only is everything Downtown Beaufort right on your doorstep, but Beaufort is conveniently located for trips to nearby Hunting Island, Hilton Head with its beaches, and just over an hour away, are the charming Southern Cities of Savannah and Charleston. For the families of Paris Island graduates, this home is located just about 10 minutes drive away from the Parris Island Gateway and offers the perfect opportunity for family groups to enjoy a luxurious and comfortable stay together. Fabulous Beaufort is located just one hour from Savannah/Hilton Head airport.
The house was a perfect size for us--two couples and our two small dogs. The convenient location allowed us to walk down to the Beaufort waterfront to eat, exercise and enjoy the view. The interior of the home was comfortable --beds, flat screen TV's, and sitting areas--indoor and out. The house reminded me of my Grandmother's --lots of character and homey.
This older two level home was perfect for our family of four adults and a small dog. The upstairs rooms were well appointed and were perfect for our two grandsons and their parents. The downstairs floor plan was an excellent place for us--we needed a bedroom that was on the main floor. The dog liked being in the fenced back yard. Being in the historic district was a "big plus." The owner provided great customer service! The property was clean and well-maintained.
My husband and myself, along with our two beagles enjoyed our time in this sweet Beaufort house. The proximity to the river and downtown was great. The house was well furnished, great beds, delightful fenced in back yard and attractive. Tom was very attentive to any request, and left us a bottle of wine :) I would definitely recommend this house to any couple or family. We had a bit of rain and I loved sitting on the upstairs balcony watching the rain drops. I also enjoyed the big swings down by the river and the dolphins in the river.
The house had everything we needed for our vacation. The house was clean ,roomier than i tbought. Had a charm to it being where it was located and the age of the house. The nieghborhood was awesome very quite. We were close to stores restaurants and the drive to Paris Island was not long at all. I would recommend staying in this house if you are lookibg for a place to stay , in or around Beaufort. Respectfully submitted, Mark E Canty
Great stay, walking distance to everything downtown. House has tons of character and is very well kept for its age. Great patio. Property owner is very nice, would stay again!
Thought the house was representative of what was advertised. House was clean upon arrival. Our three kids 8, 3 and 6 months did fine in the house. Our kids 8 and 3 really enjoyed the three parks that were within a 15 minute walk. We had a great time walking to eat out at the various restaurants around town.
The landlord, Thomas, saved us on our last night: We were at Hunting Island enjoying the beach 30 miles away. As we were leaving, our car wouldn't start and the park closed in an hour. I called Thomas and to get his thoughts and recommendations on how to get family home and where to get car fixed (AAA had no recommendations in this area). Thomas offered to pick us up and knew right where to get car repaired on a Saturday morning. Thank you very much Thomas!
Located in the historic district of the second oldest town in SC. You can walk or bike to many historic homes, some built in the 1700's. There are carriage tours, walking tours and self guided tours. Less than a mile from downtown restaurants and businesses. A short drive to the beach or fishing. Nearby boat ramp for kayaks. Short day trips to historic Savannah and Charleston. Very convenient for a family visit for a graduating Marine at Parris Island.
