Why Jorge chose Porto
Located in the interesting fine arts area with a characteristic wooded atmosphere where there are relevant architecture examples of the town, traditional and fair trade shops, restaurants with traditional Portuguese cuisine, supermarket, pharmacy, bank and cash dispenser less than 150 m away. Down the street, you can see the Douro River. Good transport links: bus stop 50 m away, metro station “Campo 24 de Agosto” (direct line to the airport) 100 m away and Campanhã and São Bento stations 800 m away. If you arrive by car, there is a garage with direct access to the garden at your disposal. If you arrive by plane, at the airport, take the underground and stop at the “Campo 24 de Agosto” station in the centre. Once on the Campo 24 de Agosto Square, follow the street lined with trees, Duque de Saldanha Street, the house is less than 100 m. If you arrive by train, take the underground by the train station.
What makes this Apartment unique
It is composed of the main house dating from the end of the 19th century and the contemporary architect building where the house that we rent and the garage are located. It enjoys privacy with its garden and separate entrance and garage. The house has a very functional architecture with a strong link between the inside and the garden, ponds with koi fish and water plants. There is a very particular atmosphere inside which is the result of the coexistence of contemporary design, subtle and different lights and 19th century Portuguese objects such as pieces of furniture, the fireplace, the sink in the bedroom and the painted tiles.

A Cozy Hidey-Hole
This place is a little quirky, in that you gain access by going through the garage and the apartment is actually located beneath the garage. But the owner/landlord is an architect so he has come up with a clever and efficient design which is cozy and quite accommodating. The photos in the listing show it off well. Comfortable bedding, thick towels for the shower, more hot water than you will need. Dish washer, full size refrigerator, clothes washer, and a towel warmer / drying rack. This is the only property of dozens we have stayed in that provides a can of shaving cream for those who require it. A real gem of a rental!

Porto is beautiful and so is the property. The only neg is that it is a 25 min walk to the action
The Garden house is beautiful -- well equipped quite quiet and close to many amenities including a supermarket and at least 5 bakeries that make delicious coffee. The pro with respect to location is that you are with the local Porto people, the downside is that you are a 25 minute walk from most of what is in the old town. You can take an uber. Check in itself was easy and was given excellent and clear information. The sleeping space was comfortable and mattress nice and firm. Bathroom small but manageable. The kitchen and sitting area were nice. The garden is beautiful and if you have a vehicle there is an indoor parking space. I would have given a 5 star rating if it was ten minutes closer to the heart of Old Porto
I am glad you enjoyed the apartment, the garden and the city. Concerning the distance to the city centre / historic centre... indeed it is 10 minutes, around 1 Km. Even the distance to Ribeira is 1.5 Km (15 to 20 minutes walking).
Lovely tiny apartment with a fabulous garden including a koi pond. Jorge was very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely recommend this property.

Beautiful little flat near the center of Porto
We stayed tree days in this flat, it's a lovely little flat, with beautiful garden, private parking and everything a couple need for vacation in Porto.
The owner was very informative and helpful and we spent great time in this flat.

You can travel on foot towards the main monuments and tourist attractions as well as the bars and restaurants around Filipa de Lencastre Square. You are 5 minutes on foot from Café Magestic on Santa Catarina Street, the shopping centre Via Catarina and Grand Plaza and the wonderful Bolhão market. You can reach Ribeira do Porto with its unique and beautiful urban landscape along the Douro River, cross the Dom Luis Bridge and visit the famous wine caves of Porto. Stroll in the narrow streets that surprise you with unexpected monuments and churches as the Clérigos, the Sé (Episcopal Cathedral), São Lourenço Church (“the Grilos”), Carmo, the traditional Portuguese tiles, the Portuguese Centre of Photography, la Cordoaria, etc. There is a wide gourmet choice in the entire centre while around the streets of Ceuta and Galerias de Paris, there is an interesting choice of nightlife, bars and restaurants. Take the underground in Boavista to visit the Casa da Música designed by the famous architect Rem Koolhaas and along the Boavista Avenue, go to the Contemporary Art Museum of Serralves designed by the internationally awarded Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza. Surprise yourself with a cruise on the Douro River that takes you from the Ribeira de Porto to the landscape of the first defined wine region of the world.
