An updated older home with front and back porches in the heart of a charming village, and very close to Bard College, Vassar College, Omega, and the C.I.A. Walk into town to bookstore, great little movie theater--$6 plus $1.50 for popcorn, fabulous restaurants owned by some CIA grads, health food store, candy store, Beekman Arms Hotel, super farmers' market, bike into the country, head to Bard for the Frank Gehry auditorium, down to the CIA for food and cooking lessons, to Vassar College, Franklin Delano Roosevelt's revamped library and home, Vanderbilt and Mills mansion, public tennis, pool, library, and Omega Institute nearby. Four bedrooms that altogether can sleep single, other rooms for two!
Love to cook, paint, entertain, and work--still must do it but isn't that great!
Love to garden too and have a perennial garden all around and vegetable planters!
Property Manager/Owner purchased this house in 2010
Because it's light, bright, roomy, air conditioned, new bathrooms, updated kitchen, right in the heart of the village, steps away to shopping, library, bookstore, Pilates, yoga, art classes and lots of great restaurants! Has four comfortable bedrooms, two full bathrooms, one half, great big living room, dining room, family room, and modernized kitchen and outdoor spaces at front and back for sitting, vegetable garden, and close to Bard College, Vassar College, Omega, 1+ hour to the Berkshires and not far from the Catskills and skiing. Use my pots and pans and spices and cook here, watch TV, use my Wi-Fi, and relax. Close to my gym and Pilates classes, too. Have two bicycles to use.
The village is a gem, maybe the best place I've lived with culture, food, kind people and so much near by, including the Berkshires 1+ hours away. And even in the deadly winter, it's still a joy to put on a coat, hat, gloves and boots and stroll out to see how pretty the town looks.
Four or us headed to Rhinebeck for the NY Wool and Sheep! We couldn't have asked for a better location! RIGHT in town -- blocks from shops and restaurants. It was a 15 walk to the fairgrounds which was perfect. The house is absolutely stunning and impeccable -- lovely decor and spacious for us. We had a great weekend and will most def. stay there again. You really can't beat the location!
We were in Rhinebeck for a wedding and the house was wonderful -- very comfortable and the location couldn't be better. Barbara made us feel right at home and was incredibly responsive to all our questions/needs! We will certainly book again if our travels take us back to Rhinebeck!
Beautiful historic home with original details. Wonderful location right in the center of town - close to shops, restaurants, etc. Attentive owner who baked us cookies and provided bagels upon arrival. Very much enjoyed our stay and our time in Rhinebeck.
Five friends and I had a wedding to attend in Rhinebeck, and this house was perfect for us for the weekend - plenty of space for six adults, two full bathrooms, an outdoor sitting area, and in a wonderful location, just two blocks from the (lovely) main downtown area of Rhinebeck, where there are lots of shops to browse, cafes to eat at, etc. The house is very spacious, clean, and comfortable. Barbara was also kind enough to pick us up from the train station when we arrived on Friday night, so we were truly not in need of a car at all for the weekend.
Four friends and I had a wonderful stay at Barbara's home in Rhinebeck on beautiful late Spring weekend. We were in town for the wedding of a good friend of ours. Everything was perfect during our stay. We had a great time in every respect. Barbara's house is gorgeous, uniquely decorated, historic and it is also a real home. That gave us all a nice feeling during our stay. The house is spacious inside and out with a nice backyard. Everyone had their own bedroom. Two and a half baths made our morning/evening routines uncomplicated and getting ready for the wedding party a breeze.
The house is located just outside the heart of Rhinebeck where there are restaurants and shops to explore. This was great because most of us came up on the train and so had independence to get into town to grab a coffee or a bite to eat or got to the good yoga studio in town. I also found an outdoor running track nearby at the public high school, which served me well to squeeze in some exercise between wedding festivities.
Barbara has been kind and easy to work with throughout. She gave us tons of information about the area that came in handy and was easily available by phone and text during our stay. I highly recommend staying here and would love to again if I visit the area in the future.
Located in the great town of Rhinebeck, near train stations, FDR's home, the CIA, Omega, near Hunter Mountain for skiing, 1+ hour to the Berkshires and its museums and great plays, shops, and more; a great location with great activities in town including an independent bookstore, super movie theater, shops, restaurants, Pilates, yoga, library, outdoor public tennis and swimming pool, good bike riding, golf courses not far, and almost anything you can imagine!
|Refundable Damage Deposit||£801|
For just one night, there is an additional surcharge of $75 since it requires the same care to get my house ready, plus the $75 cleaning fee etc. No pets allowed under any condition; children depend on the ages; usually two nights during spring, season, fall and holidays but I can remain flexible but for only one night there will be a surcharge of between $50 and $100 depending on the weekend and season. I will lower the rate come winter, except for Xmas and New Year's...
