Why Robert Rooks chose Ludlow / Okemo Mountain Area

This cabin has been beloved by our family for many years. It is the perfect retreat from the worries of the world. In the summer, surrender to the rocking chairs on the front porch and watch the bluebirds and swallows dart across the field, swim in the cool pond, wander in the meadow, and hike the peak. The fall foliage paints the valley walls flames of orange and red and yellow. In the winter, cross country ski or snowshoe across the meadow to the lighted house and blazing hearth. Ski Killington or Okemo or Suicide Six, shop Woodstock's array of unique shops, eat at Keepers or Simon Pierce.

Park your cares by the fire and stay awhile.

Charming remote Vermont property for utter privacy and tranquility

  • 5 of 5

This is a really special property with complete privacy and tons of charm...meadows, creeks, ponds, views, flowers, trails, etc. Owners are very nice and responsive. Perfect for anyone who likes wilderness and tranquility. The house is rustic but fully functional and comfortable. Would be a bit too cozy for more than 4 people or for teenage kids but perfect for a family of 4 with kids between 6 - 12. Woodstock is about 15 minute drive; Ludlow/Okemo about 25.

Our July stay in Vermont heaven.

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed our stay. The home has all the charm of an antique New England farm with all the modern conveniences. We grilled fresh veggies from the Woodstock farmers market on the grill and lounged on the porch. The kids swam in the pond and we picked some wild berries. The home is far enough away from Woodstock to feel very rural but close enough to go for meals and all the activities that Woodstock has to offer. Highly recommend.
