The home is suitable for up to 6 persons and has two bedrooms with queen beds. The third bedroom has a full sleeper sofa. The location is within two blocks of Missouri State University and one mile to downtown Springfield. It is close to the Springfield Cardinals baseball field, the Symphony Hall, and the Exposition Center. The fully fenced back yard and large deck is perfect for outdoor activity.
We are native residents of Springfield and have close friend and family ties to the beautiful and fairly historic Rountree neighborhood. We live within one mile of the property in a late 19th century historic home. We recently acquired the Kickapoo House because of its simple yet attractive characteristics and spacious shaded yard. John is a self employed civil engineer and Pat is an active grandmother.
John Horner purchased this house in 2014
This house is situated in one of Springfield's established Rountree neighborhood with friendly neighbors and single family residences. The area has tree lined streets and carefully maintained homes with a mixture of ranch, bungalow, colonial, and other traditional style homes.
We are a family friendly operation and prefer guests in the spirit of families, married couples, and responsible singles.
Our family gathered in Springfield for a memorial service and this comfortable, well equipped home made everything manageable. We were able to make coffee and breakfast each morning; today we hosted a small family lunch before the service. Each night we sat around the capacious living room to catch up and tell stories. Folks could choose to grab a snack or take a nap while others visited. It was HOT outside but comfortable inside. House is in a quiet neighborhood close to MSU. Lovely yard. Decor is pleasing, with interesting books and artwork, thoughtful placement of lamps and plenty of linens and practical items. John and Pat made check in and payment easy. What an infinitely preferable place to stay than one of the faceless hotels on a busy street surrounded by traffic and fast food restaurants. Great place for families and couples.
This house was more like a home than just a rental house. Very nice and well kept. We had a great time here. Wonderful location. Enjoyed the backyard very much. Our grandkids played flashlight tag and we all ate breakfast out on the deck every morning. John was wonderful to work with. We would love to return here. I would definitely recommend this quaint home.
Excellent property, well maintained, perfect place for a small family gathering during the day and quiet nights. John was easy to work with. Thanks John!
We absolutely loved our stay. The property was very conveniently located, and was in excellent condition. Will definitely look to stay here again next time we're in Springfield.
This home was exactly that: a home. It was nice and clean, well stocked, and very welcoming. Springfield was very cold and the house was nice and warm.
The kitchen was well stocked, and the linens were heavenly. The beds were so nice it made it difficult to get up and going in the morning. We were there for a funeral, having such a wonderful house made a hard time much easier. We can't wait to stay there again. I would and will definitely tell all our friends to stay there when they are visiting in Springfield. Thanks homeowner for making this stay so comfortable.
