I am the 5th generation to live and work on our 167 year old farm. I grew up playing in the barns, swimming in our sandstone quarry and riding the fields on my horses. My husband , George, and I grow Christmas trees and daylilies and we hold a month long Fall Festival in October called Pumpkin Pandemonium. In my 'free' time I love to garden, hike and volunteer with dog rescue. Our family includes 3 rescue cats and 3 rescue dogs. We have lived and worked all over the world but the beauty and tranquility of the farm, the Village of Peninsula and the Cuyahoga Valley always calls us home.

I love the farm for it's beautiful gardens, secluded trails in the woods and the rolling Christmas tree fields surrounding the old farmhouse. The front porch is a great place to greet the day with a hot cup of coffee. Relaxing on the gazebo watching sunset with a glass of wine or a soft drink is the perfect end to the day. And if you like to be outdoors after dark you can tell stories around the fire pit or join a night bike ride on the CVNP Towpath Trail. The farm is a great place to base for hiking or biking in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Downhill Skiing and snowboarding can be found 2 miles away and there is access to National Park cross country ski trails right here on the farm. Downtown Peninsula with it's shops, restaurants, galleries and museums is less than 1/2 mile away.We are located 15 minutes from theaters, malls, museums, county and national parks and much much more. The city of Akron is 20 minutes to the south and Cleveland is 25-30 minutes north with highway access to both places only 2 miles away.
My wife and I stayed at Heritage Farms for 10 days in early September 2016, looking to relax and enjoy one last "hurrah" before our 1st child is due in December. Visiting from Wisconsin for a baby shower, we visited with friends and saw tons of our family. We wanted to stay in a relaxing, quiet place, somewhere that was central to NE Ohio, Cleveland, highways and our favorite people but still removed from the busyness of everyday life.
Finding Heritage Farm's quaint and wonderful guest cottage on VRBO, we were absolutely blown away with the tranquility and peacefulness of the 5th-generation family farm and the idyllic surroundings when we arrived. This is one place that looks better than advertised! Having worked on a tree farm growing up in Wisconsin, it was wonderful to talk morning walks with a cup of coffee among the rising mists and darting birds and animals, hiking among the rows of fragrant trees and paths surrounding the hilltop farm. Clean and inviting, the guest cottage was just large enough to entertain a few close friends and host a couple of smaller cookouts on the gas grill. The cottage and patio was also cozy enough to relax in with just us two "lovebirds" on the back patio at night with s'mores roasting in the chiminea, taking in the beautiful stars and moonlight and some quiet conversations. My wife and I enjoyed walks around the woods, and also enjoyed talking to Carol and George about growing up on the family farm, the history of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and the amazing wildlife and natural beauty of the area.
Located minutes from Interstate 77, 271, 80, and 8, and 303, we easily traveled to Cleveland and all over NE Ohio for family events, meetings, and shopping during our stay. Great food in Penninsula as well as in Hudson and surrounding towns (get the spicy bone-in wings at Winking Lizard in Penninsula if you haven't been there!) The kitchen was great for cooking breakfasts and dinner, and we had the most wonderful stay, just relaxing and enjoying the views and quiet.
Overall, a great stay in a great place with wonderful caretakers that go above and beyond to make your time in Northeast Ohio very special. Thanks again for a wonderful stay Carol and George - we hope to be back soon!

We had a great weekend hiking and enjoying small town Peninsula, Ohio.
The cottage was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed! The kitchen had plenty for us to prepare full meals.
Carol was a great host and this adorable guest house was the perfect location for a fall getaway. Just down the street from the shops of Peninsula and close to all of the hiking trails. We'll likely make this an annual visit!
I chose this property because I was looking for a place where I could relax in a comfortable atmosphere in the country and enjoy the outdoors and a bit of history. I was not disappointed as the owners have a wonderful farm that has great views and close to Peninsula, the beautiful Cuyahoga National Forest, Tow Path, Quarry, and close to Cleveland, Amish Country, and other fun things to do. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, friendliness, hospitality, and farm life.
We rented this wonderful apartment on the property of this 5th generation family farm in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We were in Peninsula, Ohio for a family reunion and the location was idealic. We so enjoyed our stay as it was quiet, peaceful and just gorgeous! I hope anyone visiting the Cuyahoga Valley National Park get the opportunity to stay at this lovely farm. You won't be disappointed!
Great Location in the Heart of Cuyahoga National Park, and in the town of Peninsula. Owners were super helpful and accomodative. You are probably about four short blocks (a third of a mile?) from getting onto the Ohio/Erie Canal Towpath Trail, with a sidewalk starting across the street from the beginning edge of the farm. I went back and forth 3 times during the stay and traffic was pretty mild. Would highly recommend and would like to stay again next time I'm visiting the area.
Heritage Farms is located in the heart of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Brandywine Golf Course is located one mile away. Within 2 miles of the farm you will find Blossom Music Center, the summer home of the Cleveland Orchestra and a great place to experience summer outdoor concerts of all kinds. Boston Mills/Brandywine Ski Resorts are also two miles away. You're only 18 minutes by car from 7 movie theaters, shopping malls, universities, concert venues and just about any activity you would like. We are 20 minutes from Downtown Akron and 30 minutes from Downtown Cleveland. Major airports are 35 minutes from us. We are very centrally located with easy access to many major highways and the Ohio Turnpike.
