Overview

About the property

Lovely family house with Provençal charm.

This elegant 18th Century country house is surrounded by a beautiful lush park that spans 2 ha. Within its private grounds are a lovely large pool in the midst of a garden with plane trees; a trampoline, slide and swing in the shade of pine trees; a wondrous maze which is perfect for playing hide and seek; and groves that double as the idyllic spot for petanque or ping pong. Beyond the spacious garden, inside lies a perfect sanctuary: a library where you can relax while escaping into the world of good books.

The house is the ideal place to discover the remarkable surroundings. The splendour of Provence villages, Roman monuments, sunny vineyards, bicycle tours, pleasant walks, horseback rides, the mythical landscapes of Mont Ventoux, and the Dentelles de Montmirail. It’s a magical place where family and friends will have fun and enjoy a real vacation.

About Alain Risse-Raud

In 1893 a young industrial man, friend of the family, who is building a plant in Camaret (of which there are still the old brick chimney in the village center) asks the Coste family to use their service quarter to install its first machines and begin forming his employee: my great grandfather Martial Raud.

The Coste leave him their house Camaret as they come less often. My grandmother and two of my great uncles are born during this long stay.

In 1897 Martial dies suddenly at 41. We have to leave, the Coste get their house back, house now called "Château-Coste, as often in the south.

In September 1949 my grand mother, back from Madagascar, buys the the Château-Coste where she was born. The park is reduced to 2 hectares, but the trees are beautiful.

The path to the house are rows of plane trees, and the iron front gate from Girard (excellent ironworker from Avignon from the eighteenth century) continues to drive our friends towards the house.

Beautiful, Great luxurious base for le Ventoux

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for a place to stay with friends and wives. We wanted something nice and not to far from the Ventoux, which was the main reason we chose the area.

The house is just amazing, the outdoor dining area is great, the pool was the best thing ever after our 5 hour ride up and down the Ventoux. We enjoyed every single moment in the house. The house is close to all amenities including a supermarket and a nice provençal market. We also visited Seguret which is ranked amongst the most beautiful villages (10 minutes from the house) and had an amazing dinner in Vaisons La Romaine.

We loved it so much that we're going back next year.

Thanks to your adventure, we have created a new formula so guests can now come for long week ends in May, June, September and October -the best seasons in Provence. We are very happy to welcome you again next year. You will be able to enjoy again Marie Noelle's food by the pool.

Fantastic for cyclists (and their spouses)

  • 5 of 5

After a good night' sleep we took our bikes and headed to the Ventoux via Bedoin where we stopped for a coffee. From there, we started the gruesome 2 hours (more for some...) ascension of the giant. This was just amazing. We then rode back home after a nice lunch in Malaucène. What a treat to take a dive in the pool!! While we were riding our wives went to the local provençal market and cooked a great dinner we enjoyed outdoor.

This house is just superb, the surrounding is amazing, I felt like a French noble in my Rapha jersey... GReat outdoor dining area, great ppol, amazing garden to relax, the house is near all amenities and beautiful villages such as Seguret and only 30kms from the Bedoin which the ideal warmup. I LOVE IT SO MUCH I'M GOING BACK next year...

Great base to attack Mont Ventoux

  • 5 of 5

I organised a bike trip with 5 friends and wives and we were looking for a place from where we could explore the region and most importantly the Ventoux. We departed at 8:00 on the big day, stopped at Bedoin for a coffee and spent the next two hours (more for some) climbing the giant. It was amazing. We rode back after a nice lunch in Malaucène and were so happy to take a dive in the pool. The ladies went to a nearby market and cooked us an amazing dinner. This place is just amazing, the outdoor dining area is great, the pool is great and the whole building is GORGEOUS. We're booking for next year.

quelques jours de rêve en famille

  • 5 of 5
