Definite 5* week. The villa is well appointed clean tidy and the grounds are well kept. The whole feeling of the Villa is comfortable. We splashed in the pool, sat in the sun and in the evening wandered down to the local town (village)which is full of the kind of bars and restaurant's that locals frequent, great fun. Loads of local places and towns to visit even a huge shopping mall within 10 mins drive. Recommend this to anyone.
This was our second visit to a villa in Guia and we very impressed with this villa and as it says it has been fully modernised including sky tv ( we don't even have sky at home so that was a great novelty for watching all the uk tv at night time).
The pool was heated for a few days ( we didn't request this ) and would recommend heating in May.
Garden and grounds are immaculate and we saw both the gardener and the pool attendant several times during our one week stay.
Guia is a small town with many typical Portuguese restaurants and a few bars, the Algarve shopping centre is only 3 miles away and sells everything you could posibly need.
Albufeira is approx 5 miles away and has many pubs/clubs/restaurants etc.
Guia is ideally situated (40 mins west of Faro airport) for exploring the Algarve and it's many waterparks and golf courses.
The villa has full aircon (not needed in May) and the patio door has a insect net which slides across to keep insects out and 10 month old daughters in!!!
The villa was amazing, it had everything you could need.Including pool and beach towels which take up room and weight in your case. It also had a hair drier in each of the 3 bedrooms so no need to take one with you. The location is great as it only takes 10 minutes to walk into the village where there are a selection of restaurants to choose from. We were here at the beginning of September and it was very quite and peace full.
We had a fabulous holiday in a beautiful villa in a lovely village in Portugal.,recommended..chris snd maureen parsons
Enjoyed the villa good room sizes and pool was heated
Would stay again in the villa
Whilst you can tell the advertisement has professional photography, we found the house is exactly as advertised (if a little dated) as compared to the photos.
We enjoyed the quiet and private surroundings, the fine views from the balcony and the upstairs windows, the handy walking distance restaurants and amenities, and the heated pool which was a necessity as we were travelling with a 2-year old son of mine. The furnishings are as advertised --- I personally would have liked some more rugs or wall hangings to help with the echo but that is just a personal preference.
The pool was perfect (cleaned once during our week's stay) with plenty of sun loungers, the yard and laws meticulously kept with lots of pretty flora.
The house was kept clean and well-stocked with clean towels by the lovely maid Manuela. She speaks very little English so prepare to brush up some key phrases 1) to show willing which is really appreciated and 2) to make things easier.
The whole house is kitted out with various security devices -- I am not going to enumerate them here for obvious reasons but let's say they were sufficient for complete peace of mind.
The kitchen was reasonably well kitted out for a holiday let. The coffee maker only makes 6 small cups of coffee at once, so if you are a large coffee-swilling party, prepare to take turns in the morning. We had to buy a vegetable grater and a cheese slicer due to our personal preferences. We left them to whoever comes next.
We had a crack at the barbecue a couple of times, which is better if you get some firewood instead of messing about with charcoal. Florence and co did promise to sort out some firewood for me as long as I let them know when I want it (can you tell we are intending to go back...)
I was very relaxed when coming back, thoroughly enjoyed myself. Will go again next summer, let's hope the weather improves :-)
The villa is gorgeous, very spacious and clean. All utensils you require along with washing machine and dish washer. The pool is a good size aswell although going in April i would suggest heating the pool, it was a bit bbrrrrrrrr. The algarve shopping centre is within walking distance and has a good range of shops and eateries but everything else you really need a car for. Couple of british bars that are really good aswell. We loved every minute of it.
This attractive villa is situated on a small residential estate, Quinta dos Alamos, on the outskirts of Guia, which is only a 10 minute walk. Guia is a small town with shops and famous for its many good value restaurants, of which there are over 20. There is also a supermarket and fruit & vegetable market. The Blue flag beaches of Galé are only five minutes drive away. Algarve Shopping the largest shopping complex in the region is only a few minutes drive, with Multiplex Cinemas. Albufeira town is 6kms, around 10 min drive. The old town is very interesting with narrow cobbled streets and old fisherman houses and then there are the numerous music bars and street entertainers together with regular free shows in the main square in the summer season.
