WELCOME to ST. PETE
Richard Miller purchased this apartment in 2000
We fell in love with this property due to its charm and close proximity to the beaches and downtown. The Old Northeast is a lovely area of older Bungalows and estates. Next to my architecturally sweet craftsman bungalow, sits my triplex building where the Palm Arbor Suite is housed. Both buildings either have porches, balconies or front patios which is in keeping to our neighborhood, where you can spend time reading, people watching or chatting with neighbors and friends. The buildings have been renovated extensively but they have kept their original charm I fell in love with.
Walking distance to downtown and all which St. Petersburg has to offer. A designer kitchen you won't find in any other rental at this price. An ideal location for everything the area has to offer. Having patios and off street parking is a pleasure for our guests.
The perfect place for a quiet getaway. Richard has thought of everything his guests may need while staying in the suite. From beach accessories (towels and chairs) to a lunch bag if you need to keep something cool on the go, its there for you. The suite was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The private patio sitting area is great if you want to spend some time outside along or with friends. And you can't beat your own driveway just for your suite. If you into cooking there are cabinets full of pots, pans, cutting boards, cutlery, silverware, glass wear, plates, cups, a blender; anything you need for your stay. The neighborhood is quaint and quiet, no noise from neighbors at all. There were zero negatives to my month long stay in the suite, it was truly awesome. Finally, Richard is all about making sure his guests are happy, he met me when I arrive and I enjoyed a few messages from him during my stay to ensure everything was OK and that there were no problems. He also gave me some tips and local places to check out while I was in town. A great host!

My stay at Palm Arbor Suites was amazing! It is a studio apartment with everything you need and want for a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. The laid out made it feel so much roomier and the decorations were beautiful and tastefully done, Great job Richard!
The small yard was a nice place to sit and have a glass of wine or cup of coffee in the morning. My dogs loved sunning there when the weather permitted it. The area was great to! It was quiet and peaceful which allowed for a good restful sleep after a long day at the beach. Everything was close by the restaurants, park, pool, café and downtown just a car or bus ride away.
Richard, is a remarkable host, he went out of his way to make sure our stay at Palm Arbor was the best, he even greeted us with a bottle of wine and doggy treats for my dogs. He was always available to answer any question or fix any problem that may arise at a timely manner.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone who plans to visit St Petersburg area. I will definitely be staying here again when I do return to St Petersburg. Thank you once again for a wonderful stay, hope to be back soon. Magda & Shana & coco & Saki
From the time the reservation was made, Richard was responsive in answering all my questions. The studio is exactly what you see! You have everything at your disposal that you could ever want or need for a vacation. Plenty to do and see in St. Petersburg and the beaches are absolutely lovely! I'll be back for sure!
Richard made our stay very accommodating by providing everything we needed for fun days at the beach as well as ideas of things to do and places to check out. We had the best time and really loved the place we stayed at. We will definitely be back!
We were very impressed with every detail of the suite and the entire experience of staying here at Palm Arbor. We felt right at ease from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The condo is beautifully decorated, well-maintained and with all of the amenities you could think of and more. It was the perfect amount of space as well. We could have easily moved right in! In addition, the location is lovely as you are walking distance to the beautiful Bay, where we enjoyed meandering along the paths and catching an array of wildlife both on land and along the beachfront. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood yet close enough for an leisurely walk to town where we enjoyed a number of fantastic restaurants and night life. Richard was incredibly accommodating, ultra responsive and the true definition of hospitality. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay and would stay there again in a heartbeat. We highly recommend-- 5 stars!!
Perfect hideaway for 2!
With 7 straight days of sunshine and no rain (thanks, Richard!) and moderate early May temps, our eating area was the patio outside the side door (inside, the seating area in the kitchen accommodates only 1 at a time, or 2 can eat sitting on the sofa/plush chair in the main room).
Tip for the lazy: just leave the comfy Murphy bed down during the day (acts as an ottoman when sitting on the sofa for reading or watching TV), move the cube stand to in front of the front door, and enter/exit using the side door onto the patio. Kitchen was well supplied with all the necessary utensils, cooking supplies, and gadgetry, and the bathroom was similarly supplied including towels. Guests can use the closet shelves beside the bathroom for clothing storage (just remove the small storage bins) as an alternative to living out of your suitcases. Then store your suitcases in the trunk of your car! Oh, and Richard has also provided beach chairs and umbrellas in a storage area off the patio - very helpful!
St. Pete has lots of geckos or little lizards, which one will see on the periphery of the the patio (around the vegetation). They are cute, and I swear I heard them singing at random brief moments -- if not geckos, I don't know what else was making those sounds!
Richard makes sure his visitors feel welcome, both with a personal greeting once he learns you've arrived, and with various goodies in the kitchen.
All in all, very pleasant and cozy!
What can we say about Palm Arbor Suite, that has not already been said in previous reviews. My husband and I, arrived in early January of 2016, our first year as Snowbirds, so looking forward to a winter of warmth, fun, sunshine and no snow. The warmth began, when I called Richard from our cell and said, our GPS is not taking us to the address. It was a dark and rainy evening. A few minutes later, Richard, was in the street waving us into our driveway. Now that is service! We, were then given a tour, of an extremely clean, cosy and tastefully decorated modern studio, that we immediately fell in love with, and called our winter home. It truly felt like our home away from home. Richard, has thought of everything. Beautiful bedding, towels, appliances (there are even ice packs in the freezer), pots and pans, dishes for daily use and entertaining. A great area for setting up your laptop and fabulous storage. Lots of things for beach use, chairs (etc.). A lovely covered front veranda for sitting out and the most beautiful private garden, an oasis for relaxing evenings and morning coffee. There was a lovely welcome fruit basket, wine, and coffee (etc) for next morning. If that wasn’t a warm enough welcome, Richard showed up a few minutes later with a yummy pizza for us to pop in the oven, knowing that we had driven all day and probably would be too pooped to venture out in the rain again. Now that, is above and beyond! The studio is located in a beautiful, quiet and friendly neighbourhood in the old northeast. Lovely for walking to nearby down town shops and restaurants or taking leisurely strolls. Easy driving to other locations and venues. Rick, you are the perfect host and we loved our stay at Palm Arbor Suite. We, really had the best, warm, fun, sunshine filled winter ever, with no snow. You are both, simply the best!! Really enjoyed your company. Looking forward to 2017
