Villino Rosa is a cosy cottage carefully furnished, immersed in a large garden of secular trees of a 19th century's villa, in the heart of Livorno. It is a quiet residence without traffic noise, although it is placed in the center of the city, 50 mt away from Amedeo Modigliani's birthplace. The guests have the opportunity of benefit of a side of the garden, fully equipped of table, chairs, barbecue and a parasol. A parking lot is available inside the garden
We had a wonderful stay here! This historic home is in a great location near the center of town, but once you're inside the courtyard, it is quiet and feels almost like you're out in the countryside. We were in a rental car, and the parking is a great benefit here, since street parking can be tricky and hard to find in this area.
The property is very clean, well-maintained and furnished so it feels very cozy - definitely felt like a home away from home. The wi-fi worked well for us and was a great added benefit. The owner and her sister were wonderful! They responded quickly to all of our questions and were very helpful with great suggestions for restaurants/things to see in the area. We only were able to stay for a couple of nights, but this would be a fantastic place for a longer stay to really explore the area. I would highly recommend this property and hope I can visit again someday! Thank you so much!
My Husband and I spent a week and thoroughly enjoyed it! It is located in the heart of the city, but within a small, private oasis. Therefore the “street noises” were at a minimum. There was a table in the courtyard where we were able to sit and have a drink/food and take in the tranquility of the place. We had a car and were able to park it within the grounds, so no searching for a parking place on the streets needed (parking on the streets is almost impossible in that neighborhood). We were able to walk to a supermarket and other local stores/restaurants. There was a dog (Toto') on the property, but was very well behaved and did not bother us. Our host Cristina, was always available and very helpful. Her English is limited but she did her best to communicate (and her sister-in-law spoke perfect English). We would highly recommend this cottage and will probably use it again if we go back to Livorno. Cristina, grazie di tutto! Non mi dimentichero’ mai la sua gentilessa e cortesia…Bianca e Jim
I thouroughly enjoyed my stay in this lovely and traditional stone cottage, and have already made plans to return. Spacious and comfortable living on two floors, very quiet, yet in a central location with walking distance to everything. Supermarket at the corner. Owners extremely friendly and helpful. I had problems with the wifi and they did their utmost to fix it.
Ritorneremo sicuramente...
We are a family of four. The house was perfect for the children to play after visiting Tuscany. It is beautifully furnished. Very calm. Two minutes walking from little supermarket, and to the centre. It was perfect to visit Tuscany and come back to enjoy the garden or a nice fire (we were there for Christmas - temperatures around 10-15°c).
We really recommend this place and would love to go back one day.
The welcome, friendliness, generosity and thoughtfulness of Maria Cristina, Cinzia and their families made this holiday special. The villa and garden were a relaxing oasis in the city and very centrally located. Would recommend for an authentic Italian stay. Robin and Diana, New Zealand.
It is possible to receive transfer from the airport/station at the booking time. From the highway follow the directions “centro-città” and in case of need contact the owners
Villino Rosa offers a pleasant stay in the city of Livorno and its sea, the beautiful shores, with the opportunity of reaching the most important cities of art of Tuscany: Pisa (18km); Firenze (80km); Lucca (40km); Siena (120km); moreover the wonderful islands of the Archipelago Toscano are easily accessible thanks to the daily connections from the port of Livorno. Recommended are the boat trips alongside the Medicei canals crossing the historic heart of the city. The cuisine is excellent with its tradional dishes: cacciucco, seafood, torta di ceci, ponce and equally excellent are the wines from the Etruscan coast. For sailing sports lovers we point out the various sailing trophies (TAN in April), which recall navies from all around the globe, and also marine races, played in front of the stretch of water of the Terrazza Mascagni. Terrazza Mascagni is a famous terrace on the sea, named after the great musician Pietro Mascagni. It is possible to know about his life and works through a guided tour inside the Goldoni Theater that every year offers opera seasons dedicated to the musician. The weather in Livorno is pleasant throughout the year and makes possible to have long walks along the seafront (bicycle path of 5 km) and on the surrounding hills (Eremo della Sambuca, Valle del Chioma). Possibility of bike and car renting and to book guided tours of the city and surrounding areas. The owners are available to give informations, directions and suggestions about restaurants, tours and beach resorts
