About Polly Brooks

We (Sean and Polly) have lived on Richmond's Historic Boulevard over 10 years at 1 N. Boulevard. In June 2014, the house next door became available and we decided to expand our property footprint on Richmond's Historic Boulevard. We completely renovated the property and are now excited to offer a fabulous, safe and cozy lodging option to Richmond visitors. You'll feel right at home in our apartment overlooking the Boulevard and have the luxury of many dining and tourist attractions all within steps of your front door!

Why Polly Brooks chose Richmond

We purchased this home for several reason. First, the property was desperately in need of some TLC and we felt we were the right people to do give it just that. Second, we have a passion for providing travelers to Richmond with cozy, inviting accommodations that make them feel at home.

What makes this apartment unique

This house has such fabulous historic character and charm. We love the Boulevard and all of the historic homes on it. The property at 3 N. now shines with warmth and charm and offers a comfortable, safe and friendly environment for visitors to our charming city.

Great Apartment

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay here. We were travelling to Richmond for the weekend with our two small children and loved the flexibility of an apartment over a hotel room, and paid less than the hotel suites we were looking at. We loved the walkability--walked to brunch both mornings and could have walked to the museum we visited. The apartment was spacious. We loved the front porch and den area--you could put your feet up but not feel like you were missing out or hiding in a box somewhere, which was perfect during our kids nap time. Our only complaint was the street parking. We arrived late (12:30) on Friday night and could not find any available street parking anywhere nearby. That was the only time we had an issue, all other times we found parking within 100 feet of the front door. I think it must have been because it was late on a weekend. But that is the only reason that I didn't give 5 stars. Other than that, we loved it, and would stay here again, but just might plan to arrive earlier to make parking easier.

Awesome Rental and Great Value

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I were in town for a concert stayed here for a weekend. This place is awesome in every sense, high ceilings, original finished, completely finished kitchen and living room close to Cary St. and the Fan district which has tons to do. For the price you can't beat, feels like being at home as opposed to being in a hotel. The owners are very friendly and courteous as well! I highly recommend.

Cozy homebase for weekend in Carytown

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I were in town for a Girls Getaway weekend. Our whole weekend revolved around spending time in "Carytown" (Cary Street). This apartment was so convenient - only a few blocks walk over to Cary Street. We found the apartment to be a cozy, comfy place to come home to after walking all day. We really just used the kitchen for morning coffee, but it was big enough to move around and cook in if you so desired. Our main hang out was the large, cozy living room. We did sit out on the front porch one evening when it was cool out. The owners (who live next door) stopped by to say Hi and we chatted some. They were very nice. It was a wonderful stay.

Worked beautifully for our getaway.

  • 5 of 5

We were in town with our cousins for a sporting event. We stayed in the downstairs apartment. It was very clean, well-appointed, and I really appreciated the selection of teas and coffee offered. The location is perfect if you want to enjoy all the fun places and shops on Cary Street, the art museum, and the nice urban vibe. The beds were comfortable and the towels plush and ample. I especially liked that there was a hair dryer and soaps and hair care items..next time, won't have to pack mine. We were fortunate to have a parking space behind as the property wasn't full with guests...the only negative was the noise from someone in the upstairs apartment who was moving suitcases and taking several trips up and down the steps at 6:00 am on a Sunday, but that couldn't be forseen by our hosts. Would definitely rent again!
