DO YOU WANT A GUIDE FOR VISITING BARCELONA?(ask sending an e-mail)
We really enjoyed staying in this charming renovated old Catalan house for two weeks in order to visit Barcelona. The house is comfortable and well-equipped and the kitchen leads directly out to the garden and terrace which makes dining outdoors practical. The garden affords a fine view over the valley and has a number of terraces where one can sit and sunbathe or socialise and the pool was nice and warm. The village is friendly and quiet and very picturesque and we enjoyed a number of walks around the village, particularly to the hill above the cemetery where nativity celebrations are held. There are plenty of smaller shops and restaurants locally either in the village or just down the hill in La Palma de Cervello.
Barcelona is very close, as is the airport, and we were able to visit as often as we wanted. For anyone wanting the excitement of Barcelona but also wanting somewhere peaceful for some days and evenings the property is ideal.
We stayed in this house for 2 weeks and overall the experience was wonderful. The house is located the old part of the picturesque village of Corbera de Llobregat, high up on nearly the highest point of the mountainside. This offers some lovely views out of nearly every window in the house. The house itself is well equipped, clean and cozy, pretty much everything you need to make your stay comfortable is available, including toys and lots of DVD's for kids. Some things in the house were a bit old or broken, and could use a bit of TLC, but those things didn't really bother us. The garden was beautiful with many levels of terraces for many places to sit and enjoy the fresh air and stunning vistas, full of flowering plants and fruit trees. The pool was small but adequate. I would like to see a bit more lighting added to the garden so one could enjoy it for longer hours. The village itself is about 30 min drive from Barcelona, more if there is traffic. There is also a direct bus to the city, but I'd recommend a car–a small one–the derive to the house is challenging! There are a few restaurants and bars a stone's throw away from the house, the closest one in hotel Can Fisa, maybe fifty meters away. Our meal at Casa Nostra was phenomenal, although expensive. The owners of the house were attentive but not intrusive, thank you Marc and Karin!
I'd recommend this cute little villa to families with kids, or groups of travelers who want to enjoy the quieter and cleaner countryside. We found it to be nicely located in between attractions we wanted to see, Barcelona, Montserrat, Sitges, the mountains, the city and the beaches!
This was a great property for our family holiday. We were six adults and four children from England and had a lovely time. The house was very well stocked and enough room to fit us all comfortably. Lovely pool and outside space. It is well situated just 20km from Barcelona and about a 45 minute drive to Sitges beach. There is a local bus that costs 3 euros that takes you into Barcelona.
Genial
Go out the Motorway A7 in Molins de Rei, and follow direction for Tarragona on N340. Takr first exit direction La Palma and Corbera de Llobregar. After 5 km follow to Corbera ALTA, and the house is close to Hotel Can Fisa
Best of all, absolute calm at just 20 km from the city of Barcelona, the house is located in the historic town of Corbera de Llobregat, which in turn is very well placed to visit the wineries in the Penedes region, quite famous for their excellent Catalan “cava”.
BEACH of Gava is at 20 km. Sitges at 40 km and Costa Dorada at 50km
Catalan gastronomy in Hotel Can Fisa, 50m
