RiverRoost is a spacious 3 bedroom 2 bath log cabin. It has been remodeled and has many upgrades. Stainless Steel appliances, dishwasher, and granite countertops. Perched above the river and pond- with majestic views of the mountains. A short 2 minute walk down to the river may be reach by either a trail or by the main road. Fishing, tubing and swimming are activities ~ sure to create great memories. There is a cozy wood burning fireplace - for those cooler days and nights. A wide porch with picnic table offer an outside eating option during nice weather. Washer/dryer available.
We rented this cabin for many years before purchasing it in 2013. It was during our annual visit we noticed a lockbox on the back porch. We instantly jumped on the chance to own this small piece of paradise. We gutted the kitchen and added granite counters and stainless steel appliances. We continue to make improvements to our slice of paradise. Our future projects will be an outside fire pit and lounge area.
Kate Van Sickler purchased this cabin in 2013
We love the location and the view. We keep this as home base while we continue to explore western North Carolina. Close to Waynesville, Sylva, Canton, Maggie Valley etc.
We loved the idea of owning a log home. We especially love sitting on the back porch listening to the sounds of the river. Taking walks down by the river at Rivermont ~simply never gets old. During the cooler months - there is nothing better than a crackling fire in the wood burning fireplace. MAX guest 6
This cabin was nice. Waynesville was a cute town not quite on the scale of Asheville. The fireplace was great at keeping the main floor nice and toasty and firewood was provided. The cabin does appear bigger in the pictures but for our family of four and our small dog it was perfect. There are neighbors in close proximity so probably not for you if your looking for seclusion. The best thing about the cabin is location to great waterfall hiking in a few different directions all within a 40 minute or less drive. The Blue Ridge is also quickly accessible. The driveway was not to steep where snow would of made it a problem to get up. No 4 wheel drive needed here. Once again the accessibility to great hiking makes this location a plus.
Our visit at Rivermont Riverroost was amazing. We started a new family tradition this year spending Thanksgiving week in the mountains. We could not have picked a better location. From the beginning to the end, the entire process was perfect. Thank you for allowing us to visit your home, we look forward to return soon.
The cabin was in a great location. It was just minutes to Waynesville and a 30 minute drive to Asheville. Pigeon river is perfect for fishing. The cabin was very nice. It was perfect for our getaway trip.
The cabin was small but cute and had everything we need. The location was wonderful with a wonderful stream to play in just short walk away. My only criticism is there was some things that clearly needed to be cleaned more thoroughly. There was moldy water in the coffee pot, the garbage can was moldy and smelled a lot and there was a hairband on the floor under the table which to me means a good vacuuming wasn't done before we arrived. Maybe change cleaning companies and get a good deep clean done.
Kates home is perfection! The cabin is clean and has everything you could want or need. Our 3 teens enjoyed the river access and the neighbors are so nice. We loved the rustic updated décor of the home and were so comfortable that we hated to leave on Tuesday. We hope to be able to come back again in the fall. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us, Lois & David Lamb
Rivermont is located on 70 acres nestled in the smoky mountains- Located just south east of WAYNESVILLE and ten miles from the entrance of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Swimming, tubing and fishing in the river is sure to produce wonderful memories. Waynesville has fun filled festivals in October. Close by Maggie Valley- and Asheville ~ this location is an ideal place.
