About Nicoletta Nicosia

I have been working for 20 years in the photography industry; I am a former Ancient Languages teacher and I graduated from the prestigious University of Pisa. I was born in Tuscany, near the famous white marble quarries in Carrara, but I have been living in Turin for 40 years, although Tuscany is still in my heart. In August, I will be happy to personally welcome my guests and, if they want, I will be happy to put my experience as an Italian teacher in high schools at their disposal. I offer the possibility to arrange Italian classes, for groups or individuals, to those who are interested (further information in "amenities").

Nicoletta Nicosia purchased this cottage in 1991

Why Nicoletta Nicosia chose Lucca Area

When I had the opportunity to buy and renovate an old farmers' house in a small hamlet on Lucca's hills, I had no doubt! I happily spent the holidays here for 22 years. Here you can find calm and serenity, an important city for music and art in Tuscany. Lucca is also special for its 1600 intact fortified walls and it is possible to discover on a bicycle and admire the city from above with its many noble towers. In half an hour on the motorway, you can reach the sea where there are free beaches.

What makes this cottage unique

I am currently graduating in Cultural Heritage Conservation, and this is why I decided to restore a typical Tuscan farmers' house. Obviously, the restoration was done conservatively to keep the architectural features, the materials and the typical look of the house intact. In fact, Tuscany, different from many other Italian regions, has kept and increased its ancient economic activity, which developed from the time of Rulers of Florence (1300) to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, until now. Tuscany did not follow the industrialisation of 1900, its tradition is deeply agricultural, and it never felt the crisis. Due to its strong agricultural tradition, it boasts delicious beef, the "chianina," which is also the name of the cattle breed, and high quality wines, such as, the typical and famous, Brunello di Montalcino.

A wonderful rural retreat

  • 5 of 5

The house was lovely and very tastefully decorated in a retro farmhouse style, with plenty of space inside and outside to relax. We had everything we needed and Nicoletta was wonderful and met us to show us around and help with anything we needed. I would have loved to stay there for a few months, sitting among the olive trees.

Lucca is not far away for supplies, places to eat and things to do.

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Cordialement Nicoletta
