Great house! Had everything we needed. Slept with the windows open listening to the river. Would definitely return.
We spent a week at the Brookie Cottage, a great, relaxing week! The cabin was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Mike and Suzanne were great hosts! We enjoyed playing yard games in the large back yard and loved the evening fires along the river. It is a perfect place to go if you want to get away from a hectic life. We spent time fishing, kayaking at a nearby lake and reading and hated to leave. We would recommend this cottage to anyone interested in a peaceful, relaxing time away!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Brookie Cottage! There was an abundant amount of fishing, nature, hiking and sunshine! The cottage was very clean and was a perfect fit for our family. Charlie was extremely helpful and friendly and even helped us with some fishing techniques. Hiking the Savage Mountain trail isn't for the faint of heart, but we really enjoyed the challenge. We look forward to staying again in the future!

Nice little cabin! Stayed here for 3 nights with my family (wife, 6 year old and mom). Great location with plenty of great fishing all up and down the river. LOVE the river, the fire pit, the chairs and the grill. Beautiful weather and comfy night rest.
Great location to get to state parks, lakes and Deep Creek Lake. We traveled a great deal and it was nice to get back to a peaceful place!
I'd rate this place higher but it was my intent to do some fishing and I wanted to actually do a day with a guide but...nobody was around. Fly shop closed the whole time. This was a bummer...The son of the owner was in and out a bit and was a great kid. Helpful and nice. One sore spot, we had to buy trash bags and toilet paper.
Would come out here again - next time, maybe a day of fly fishing! I will call ahead!
The cabin was very comfortable and clean and located in a lovely setting. Although, sometimes difficult to find, the folks there are very nice and helpful. We were disappointed to find that the Kayaks and bikes that were listed as available were indeed not available. We were told that they were not meant for the renters. We would like to return in the future. It is very beautiful there.
Loved the cozy cabin; from the deck you could hear the roaring Savage River. The place was immaculate and a perfect spot for exploring hiking at New Germany State Park. My son, an avid fly-fisherman, caught many fish on the creeks nearby. The owners, who live next door, were very welcoming and hospitable. The location is remote and quiet, which was ideal for us, but not too far from main roads and towns. We will be back!
