About daniel

My wife, José-France has created her company of house linen and has sold her

products in many places like the Galeries Lafayettes in Paris or Henry Bendel in New York. And before she was a buyer for a chain of department stores.

I managed my own restaurant in Paris for 30 years, called " Le Volant ", which is still working.

daniel purchased this apartment in 2008

Why daniel chose Les Archives

Since we are retired, we share out time between Paris and a nice village in the Pays Basque, South west of France, called Guéthary near Biarritz. And when we leave Paris, we rent our place and we are happy to share an apartment that we have decorated , first for us, but also with the desire to make it as elegant and confortable as possible for those who trust us and want to stay for a while in it.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

Merci Beaucoup for everything! We had one of our most enjoyable stays of our many trips to Paris. In part because we LOVED this apartment. It was perfect in every way, the attention to details, the quality of the bed linens, the location, the lovely owners thought of everything. We usually stay in the Rive Gauche, but have decided we really like this neighborhood, the Marais. We cannot say enough for the wonderful hospitality and generosity of Daniel for sharing this elegant Paris Apartment.

Excellent Location, Spotless and very comfortable.

I stayed here for a week with my son. The owner met me promptly and was extremelty gracious (had a bottle of wine waiting as a welcome gift!). Te apartment is in excellent condition, extremely well kept and clean. The shower is large and had very good water pressure (not always the case in Europe). Perfect for a couple or good friends/family wiling to share a bed (only sleeps two). The location can’t be beat (Le Marais, down the street from the Picasso Museum, and within easy walking distance to Metro Stops. We easily walked to Notre Dame (10 mins) and there are excellent shops, cafes and restaurants everywhere. The apartment is on a quiet street and there is an elevator in the building. I highly recommend it!

Lovely Apartment - Le Marais

  • 5 of 5

Quiet, well appointed apartment perfectly located in Le Marais close to shopping, cafes, Picasso Museum and the Metro. The pride of ownership is evident. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants an authentic experience in Paris. The owner is very helpful and provides many recommendations for restaurants and sites to visit. It was a lovely stay. Can't wait to go back.

Comfort in a quiet gallery area with conveniences/restaurants. Close to public transportation.

Great place for 2 people. Modernly updated bathroom with large shower (washer/dryer and appreciated the hair dryer) and fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher), and very comfortable bed. Lots of bright windows looking over rooftops above a courtyard, where you can see the sky. Although on the small side, it was perfect for us. Lovely antiques, comfortable furnishings, and wifi to write home to people at night. Enjoyed having access to a TV to watch the news around the world, and the stereo reminded us we were in Paris with some wonderful classical radio stations.

Daniel was a wonderful host. He gave us accurate and easy directions on how to best get there from the airport (takes a bit over an hour), and met us at the bus just a short block from the apartment. He showed us around the area, which really helped us to feel at ease. He also had maps/business cards and recommendations for places to eat/visit around the area. The nearby market and fruit/veg shops, cheese, chocolate and wine - everything so convenient. And, Daniel knew we wanted to do a special side trip to the Vimy Memorial, and did some research for us on the best way to get there. We didn't go as the weather was too rainy and unpredictable, but there were even umbrellas available for our access.

As a result, our first trip to Paris was wonderful - even more-so because of where we stayed. I didn't want to be in the tourist areas, but have the opportunity to experience every-day life in Paris. This was a perfect location to allow us to do this, while still being close to everything.

We almost overlooked the Picasso Museum, which is just steps away. It was worth the visit. We also visited all the other tourist attractions and were not disappointed. It was great to be able to come back to the apartment and recharge our batteries, and cook a meal if we wanted to. Having breakfast at the apartment (after a quick trip to a nearby bakery for fresh traditional baguette, pain au chocolate, and quiche) worked well for us to start our day with a perfect pot of tea. (Coffee was available, too.)

Thank you, Daniel, for sharing your winter home with us. It was a pleasure to meet you.

Marais Apartment

Everything was perfect. Matched perfectly with our arts related agenda. Close to all the major galleries and several museums. Quiet location just off main street. Clean. Washer and dryer were a plus for our 9 day stay. Would definitely return and recommend.

A Jewel in the Marais

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is a jewel box, a designer doll house. It is elegantly furnished and impeccably decorated. It is also equipped with everything one could possibly want or need. The bathroom is large with sleek modern fixtures. I loved every minute of my stay here and was sorry when it came time to leave.

The apartment is small and compact but since I was traveling alone, I felt completely at home. I'm sure a couple would also find it comfortable but a family might find it a tight fit.

It is on a quiet side street not far from the Picasso Museum and the neighborhood has every amenity one could want.

I highly recommend this cozy apartment.
