We're both Mainers and live in the area, so we're full of advice and able to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We value privacy, but also understand the need to stay connected especially if you have kids, so our property offers both.

The Carrabassett River has always called to us and finally we have our own piece of it. And we'd love to share with you. We call our vacation home 'Irie on the Carrabassett', because we think the Jamaican word for a state of peacefulness or harmony, either within oneself or with the world in general describes best our feeling when near the river.
If you want to spend a week doing seven different activities, you can. Or just listen to the river and unwind. If you have a student at the University of Maine at Farmington, we offer a great alternative to the area's hotels, especially for families.
We stayed here while doing some skiing at Sugarloaf. It really is a great little house. I shouldn't even call it little, as it feels like the perfect size. The owners thought of everything we could have wanted during our stay: Tons of board games. A snack basket. A gazillion DVDs. A movie theater-style popcorn maker. Lots of towels and extra blankets. And we loved being right on the Carrabassett. We'll be back.
We spent a long weekend here and wished we could stay longer!! We felt like at home.
This home is super clean, well stocked and tastefully decorated.
The owners were prompt in responding and a pleasure to deal with.
Thank you Mike and Michelle!!
Mike and Michelle, the owners, were welcoming from the very beginning. The house looks tiny from the outside, but has an amazingly designed interior that provides a lot of space and comfort. The pictures don't do it justice -- spotlessly clean with fresh and cozy design elements -- we were so pleased with every detail. Mike and Michelle thought of everything -- from ensuring there were enough towels, to a well-stocked pantry that was enough to get us jump-started for cooking a meal our first evening. The beds were very comfortable, the DVDs plentiful, and the video and board games pleasing for all ages. We were an easy 30 minutes from Sugarloaf with grocery stores and small shops even closer. Had a great New Years Eve dinner at Longfellows restaurant thanks to Mike's recommendation. And we really appreciated the fact that a snow plow showed up early the morning after a snowfall of nearly two-feet to clear the parking area -- we were able to get to the slopes without any delays. We hope to stay in the house again soon -- winter or summer!
I stayed here for a worked related trip in Bingham. I couldn't believe how outstanding everything was! This place is one of the cleanest places I've ever stayed at, and everything was so well kept. Very impressed and pleased with my stay and I will always request this when I have any work related travel plans again in the future. The owners are very kind and so eager to make sure you have an outstanding stay. They even thought of the little things honestly, and you really can't go wrong with this one. Thank you so much guys I hope to stay here soon again!
Our second year staying here. Everything is very clean. Tons of amenities for such a rural place. We will be back again in the future.
We were so very pleased with our stay last weekend. The owners have really thought everything out - from the sauna to the snacks on the dining room table to all the board games and movies they provided. This is a sure bet if you want to go skiing at Sugarloaf. The cabin is about a twenty minute ride to the base of the slopes but is in a quiet, secluded area, which helps set the tone for a relaxing weekend. We would highly recommend a stay here and plan on booking again sometime soon.
On the bank of the Carrabassett River, we are located in the middle of Maine's variety of year round leisure activities. Sugarloaf, 30 minutes away, offers the state's finest snowboarding and skiing, both downhill and crosscountry. Access to the ITS system of snowmobile trails is less than a mile away. When the snow melts it's time for using our river for kayaking, tubing, and flyfishing. Or travel 30 minutes to hook up with one of the area's many white water rafting companies on the Kennebec and Dead Rivers. Enjoy your mountain bike on the area's trails or hike on Maine's Huts and Trails system. You can even log some miles on the Appalachian Trail nearby. An outstanding brand new nine hole golf course is 15 minutes away or travel another 15 minutes and play Sugarloaf's 18 hole course, said to be one of the finest in New England. For cultural activities there's the art scene in Kingfield, along with the Stanley Museum. For educators, alumni, and parents, the University of Maine at Farmington is a brief 30 minute drive. Many quaint shops are located in the villages of Kingfield and Farmington, along with many excellent restaurants.
