"Cà San Donato" is a luminous and comfortable apartment. It consists of an entrance, a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious living room with comfortable sofa bed, a large bedroom, a nice room with a single bed, a bathroom (with shower and washing machine). The apartment is on the second floor overlooking campo San Donato, the center of the Isle of glass, Murano, with views across the channel. It's very quiet. The apartment "Cà San Donato" is situated in an ideal location, just a few minutes – by public or private boat - from the historic center of Venice.
Just fifty meters from the apartment, you will find a well stocked supermarket and everything you need for those who want to live independently. In the district there are also many shops, some bakeries, cafes and restaurants where you can sample traditional Venetian cuisine.
Two minutes by walk from apartment, there is “Murano-Museo” pier, where you can take water-bus to arrive to Venice historical centre in 15 minutes.

We wanted to stay somewhere quiet and away from the bustle of Venice itself. Here we found the perfect answer!! Giovanni was the perfect host - dealt with all our e-mail enquiries and was there to meet us when we arrived and was a valuable source of local information! The apartment in addition to being well situated is most wonderfully furnished and the kitchen is very well equipped. And if you don't feel like cooking - Al Canton on the ground level is quite the best restaurant we ate at in during this and other stays in Venice!! All in all a perfect experience and comfortable beds and good peaceful nights of sleep.
Great property, very clean, well equipped, comfortable (for a family of 3), good location close to good restaurants, etc. Would definitely rent again.
The apartment is in a stunning location, right on the waterfront, across the bridge is a fabulous eat out - for both snacks, just coffee and evening meal, there is a public park across the bridge, shops within 20 footsteps, glass museum within 20 footsteps , literally, EVERYTHING is so so close.
Giovanni, the owner, is absolutely amazing, nothing is too much trouble for him and his apartment has been beautifully furbished with virtually everything you could possibly need for a self catering stay and more !
The bedrooms are a great size with masses of storage space, fabulously comfortable beds and plenty of bedding (extra fleece throws were in the wardrobe) The main living area has a very comfy sofa / sofa bed and a more than ample sized dining room table and chairs, there is also a smaller breakfast table and chairs in the kitchen. The kitchen cupboards are stacked with all kinds of cooking utensils and we were able to find everything we needed, there were even cold drinks and snacks in the fridge on the day we arrived !. The bathroom was extremely spacious and even had a washing machine in it as well as a lovely shower.
Although it was December and really quite chilly outside, the heating in the apartment was well appreciated and we even had to turn it down a little some of the time. There was also a perfect internet signal for the entire week we were there which came in very handy to send photos to friends and to even Skype a friend in the USA to show her the view !
My favourite part of the stay would have to be the opening and closing of the gorgeous wooden window shutters each eve and morn ! there was just something magical about opening your own shutters each day to an amazing view of Murano, the canal and the big open blue sky.
I truly cannot find fault with anything about this apartment or its owner and would highly recommend to anyone wishing to escape the busy alleys of Venice but be only a very short boat ride away.
Thank you so very much Giovanni for everything, I will definitely be back in 2014

This is a fantastic place to stay! The location is incredible; thirty minute ride to Marco Polo airport, seven minute ride from Venice island, two minute walk from Musee stop, local shops and restaurants all around, but most importantly, incredible view of Santa Maria e San Donato Church. Every morning I'd open all the shutters, and take in the beautiful view.
It's extremely spacious and clean, comfortable and nicely decorated! Includes everything (amenities, free wifi, TV, towels, cooking utensils and more)
Giovanni was more than accommodating! He offered to meet my friend and I on Venice island to take our luggage back to Murano just so we wouldn't waste any time exploring Venice. He left beverages and snacks for us at the apartment, boat schedules, a list of recommended restaurants and even allowed a late check-out to accommodate with my flight schedule.
You could tell that Giovanni genuinely wants you have a memorable time in Murano and goes out of his way to make sure that it happens.
I will definitely be coming back to this beautiful place and recommending it to all my friends and family! Thank you so much Giovanni for your hospitality and generosity!
(Note: Make sure you visit the Church of Santa Maria: the twelfth century mosaic floor is breathtaking. But in all honesty, let yourself get lost here. Throw the map away and walk around and you'll be pleasantly surprised with what you come across...this island is a treasure)
We – a family of four – had a great time in Venice, thanks to the city itself, the 55th Biennale, the island of Murano, but also thanks to this apartment. We stayed two weeks at the apartment with the four of us and we felt very much at home. The place was exactly the way it is listed: spacious, comfortable, completely furnished, clean and cool. The location is beautiful, the square peaceful, the churchbells not too loud or too early, the Vaporetto-ride to Venice, passing San Michele, a perfect beginning of the day. There are some good restaurants on Murano but we also cooked at home, there is a good supermarket nearby. The kitchen equipment was complete and everything worked well. We made trips to the islands of Torcello, Burano, the Lido, all easy to reach directly from Murano by boat. We would surely recommend this apartment to everybody, especially to those who want to stay a little longer in Venice than a couple of nights.
Fabulous apartment in beautiful and quiet Murano
This lovely apartment has everything including a great view of the church, San Donato, overlooking the canals and square. In Venice the crowds can be overwhelming, so it was such a treat to jump on the Vaporetto and come "home" to Murano. We arrived during a heat spell and were so happy to have air conditioning, a real treat! We got into the gentle rhythm of this island and really fell in love with it. The apartment is sunny and bright and everything is clean, well designed and well thought-out for the guest. Our host, Giovanni, was exceptional with his hospitality and thoughtfulness. This really felt like our home for the week of our visit and we enjoyed everything that both Venice and Murano had to offer.
From Piazzale Roma or the railway station, the island of Murano is easily accessible by public transport using lines 3 or 4.1.
From Marco Polo airport you can take the red line.
The apartment is located 50 meters away from the "Murano Museum" pier.
Water-taxi can reach directly the house.
