Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cottage in Catalina - The Casita on Cloud Nine

Charming casita is spacious 800 sq ft on a very private, quiet 1.4 acres.

The Casita at the Resort on Cloud Nine has all of the same beautiful natural resource amenities of the nearby exclusive Miraval Resort without the resort pricing! Within Sutherland Heights, it sits high on a bluff, off a private road with easy access to unlimited hiking, biking and horseback trails. Enjoy unsurpassed dramatic mountain views during the day and at night, view spectacular Milky Way and constellation formations from your own private observation deck, floating in the pool or gathered around a camp fire.

This charming casita sleeps 2 and is comfortably furnished with a spacious living room, dining area, full kitchen, bedroom with a queen bed and sitting area plus an oversized bathroom and walk-in closet space. Also includes a private observation deck, cozy evening seating around a fire pit and use of the pool and laundry facilities. Wi-Fi /Internet access plus TV satellite with premium channels is also provided at no additional cost.

If a peaceful, private environment with a plethora of wild life surprises is what you are looking for this is the place for you! Bunnies and quail can be seen from every window along with visits from cardinals, hawks, roadrunners, lizards and owls (a great horned owl rules the area at night). And you haven’t even left the back yard!

There is unlimited hiking in the area with access to the Coronado State forest land only a quarter of a mile away. The Fifty Year Trail, one of the area’s premier biking paths is right down the road. Horseback riding is available and can also be arranged during your stay.

Another big plus, although you are in an amazing private environment, civilization is close by. You are within 5 minutes to a grocery store, 20 minutes to a shopping cinema complex with not only good Mexican cuisine but some of the best Indian, Chinese and steakhouse eateries in the Tucson / Oro Valley area. Travel another 15 minutes and you will find yourself in the upscale foothills area with La Encantada shopping and more restaurants. Or head in the other direction to experience the newly renovated Tucson downtown area providing a thriving music and night time scene complete with a new streetcar line.

Enjoy the resort atmosphere and a little slice of heaven when you stay at the Casita on Cloud Nine. We are looking forward to your visit!

A wonderful 4 day stay.

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Carol for providing such a lovely place to stay. The yard was so well done to provide complete privacy. We sat outside each morning to have our coffee and enjoyed the birds. Of course, the perfect weather helped! And the view of the mountains from the roof top every evening was outstanding. Especially when we were able to watch the full moon rise in all its beauty. We enjoyed the fact that we felt we were out in the country and yet all the conveniences were within a few miles. We had a wonderful steak dinner at the Keg - a little pricey but good. And the near by Basha's was a beautiful store with everything you might need and then some. We will be back.

Fantastic time!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at Cloud Nine! The casita was just perfect for my husband and I and loved the colorful decor. The drive to the place is beautiful and scenic and every time we drove into town along the dirt road we saw some kind of desert wild life. The observation deck on top with the table and hammocks were ideal for just simply enjoying the evening and watching all the stars. So peaceful and relaxing. The pool felt wonderful, we enjoyed playing horseshoes on the property and Carol and Joe gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants nearby that were delicious. The place was immaculate with nice little touches like a gift basket. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies if we had wanted to cook. We chose to go out but when we go back again sometime we will make use of the BBQ grill and the kitchen.

Even though we live in Phoenix and are used to the desert, the Tucson area desert is different and the back drop of the Catalina Mountain range is spectacular. For a weekend getaway this place is perfect for us. There are tons of hiking trails and Mount Lemmon is so close to get out of the heat and enjoy. The price is very comparable to staying at a nice hotel except this is even better because you feel as though you have the whole area to yourself with so much more for your money. My husband and I loved our stay very much and are looking forward to coming back!

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our getaway to Cloud Nine. Everything was clean and tastefully decorated. The grounds were beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed the proximity to the mountains and were able to enjoy trail running on the Fifty Year Trail that was super close. The pool and the hot tub were in great shape and we enjoyed them during the day and at night under the stars. The owners were available and helpful, but definitely gave us our privacy and were not intrusive at all. Overall a great experience!

Peaceful retreat with all amenities

  • 4 of 5

This nicely appointed Casita close to Oro Valley was a good base for us to visit relatives in Saddlebrooke area. Best feature for us from chillier Northwest was coffee on the warm patio in the morning and a sundown drink with views of the mountains. The owner was very accommodating. Everything was clean, neatly arranged. Tiny suggestion: a firmer mattress would have suited us better - bit of a roll to the middle type. We enjoyed the friendly company of Deuce the dog too [outside]. The wi-fi also worked best outside in the common patio. Would definitely return.
