About the property

Charming casita is spacious 800 sq ft on a very private, quiet 1.4 acres.

The Casita at the Resort on Cloud Nine has all of the same beautiful natural resource amenities of the nearby exclusive Miraval Resort without the resort pricing! Within Sutherland Heights, it sits high on a bluff, off a private road with easy access to unlimited hiking, biking and horseback trails. Enjoy unsurpassed dramatic mountain views during the day and at night, view spectacular Milky Way and constellation formations from your own private observation deck, floating in the pool or gathered around a camp fire.

This charming casita sleeps 2 and is comfortably furnished with a spacious living room, dining area, full kitchen, bedroom with a queen bed and sitting area plus an oversized bathroom and walk-in closet space. Also includes a private observation deck, cozy evening seating around a fire pit and use of the pool and laundry facilities. Wi-Fi /Internet access plus TV satellite with premium channels is also provided at no additional cost.

If a peaceful, private environment with a plethora of wild life surprises is what you are looking for this is the place for you! Bunnies and quail can be seen from every window along with visits from cardinals, hawks, roadrunners, lizards and owls (a great horned owl rules the area at night). And you haven’t even left the back yard!

There is unlimited hiking in the area with access to the Coronado State forest land only a quarter of a mile away. The Fifty Year Trail, one of the area’s premier mountain biking paths is right down the road.

Another big plus, although you are in an amazing private environment, civilization is close by. You are within 5 minutes to a grocery store, 20 minutes to a shopping cinema complex with not only good Mexican cuisine but some of the best Indian, Chinese and steakhouse eateries in the Tucson / Oro Valley area. Travel another 15 minutes and you will find yourself in the upscale foothills area with La Encantada shopping and more restaurants. Or head in the other direction to experience the newly renovated Tucson downtown area providing a thriving music and night time scene complete with a new streetcar line.

Enjoy the resort atmosphere and a little slice of heaven when you stay at the Casita on Cloud Nine. We are looking forward to your visit!

Catalina Mountain Relaxing

This was our second stay at this lovely location, and we enjoyed it as much as our first stay! Waking up in the morning to watch the wildlife outside the kitchen window, hiking the endless nearby trails, enjoying an evening around the fire pit, and star gazing from the sun deck at night! What a marvelous get away, and Carol is a gracious hostess who is willing to help out as needed. We look forward to returning again to this comfortable, well-equipped casita along side the Catalina mountains.

Artful Casita Near Fabulous Hiking

  • 5 of 5

The Cloud Nine casita is a beautifully decorated, comfortable living space with gorgeous surroundings. It was like living in the middle of a botanic garden. The space is well-appointed, colorful and serene. The outdoor areas are equally lovely and add greatly to the living space. The owner is fun, accommodating. Our best VRBO experience, hands down. Highly recommended!

What a great way to experience the desert, room and surrounding grounds were very well maintained. Spent the evening watching the stars from the roof observation level. Would definitely recommend, I will be back!

Peaceful, relaxing sanctuary! Love this place and hope to return!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for four days at this relaxing casita and wish we could have stayed longer. It is near Saddlebrooke (5-10 min drive) and we spent a lot of time visiting there. The first night we had planned to go out to dinner but loved the casita so much we made the short drive to Bashas' (nice grocery store) and got hot take-out meal and ate at the casita. We finished in time to walk up the outside stairs to the roof where we sat (there are also hammocks) and watched the super moon over the mountains. The night sky is beautiful here...very little light pollution. We ate our breakfasts every morning outside and enjoyed watching the birds--quail, doves, finches, hummingbirds, cardinals, woodpecker, cactus wrens, thrashers, roadrunner, squirrels and rabbits. Lots of bird activity to enjoy here!! We drove to Catalina State Park and hiked one morning. Beautiful! The casita is tastefully decorated, well-equipped, and very comfortable. We loved our stay! Carol was very friendly and nice and easy to deal with. I hope we can stay here again.

Real Tucson

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to Tucson and it was split between staying with friends in Saddlebrook and staying at the Casita on Cloud Nine.

We loved it and could have stayed much longer. The Casita is ideal for a couple and has all the amenities of a very fine hotel. The decorating and comfort along with the quality of the furnishing is what we enjoy in our home. We like hiking and walks and this is definitely ideal to for us, we hiked 6-10 miles daily. On Cloud Nine you have and endless access to the trails leading up into the Mount Lemmon range. Your actually at the base of the foothills at this location, probably about 2000 feet above the valley, so the view is spectacular. Watching the sun come up or set from the observation roof top deck is beautiful. Seeing the night sky lying on a hammock is even better. It takes about 10 minutes to drive from the Casita to the main drag where you'll find everything needed. We dined out for at least one meal everyday and the list of restaurants that Carol provides was similar to our friends picks and we had very good food everywhere we went. We never traveled to downtown Tucson which is probably a 25 minute trip. We had everything we needed right in the area.

A wonderful 4 day stay.

Thank you Carol for providing such a lovely place to stay. The yard was so well done to provide complete privacy. We sat outside each morning to have our coffee and enjoyed the birds. Of course, the perfect weather helped! And the view of the mountains from the roof top every evening was outstanding. Especially when we were able to watch the full moon rise in all its beauty. We enjoyed the fact that we felt we were out in the country and yet all the conveniences were within a few miles. We had a wonderful steak dinner at the Keg - a little pricey but good. And the near by Basha's was a beautiful store with everything you might need and then some. We will be back.
