Welcome to your once in a lifetime vacation get-away! Our gorgeous home is situated on a peninsula perfectly located on Catawba Island in West Harbor minutes from the Jet Express, Miller Ferry, Cedar Point, Marblehead, the beautiful beaches of East Harbor State Park and other area attractions.
On a level lot just 20 feet from water's edge, The Stone Manor has the perfect view of our picturesque lake Erie sunrises and sunsets. Wake up in the morning to the sounds of our local nesting geese, swans, ducks and other aquatic birds or sit on our spacious raised deck overlooking water on 3 sides and watch bald eagles soaring above and diving for an anticipated meal. We are occasionally visited by many other species of migrating birds, otters, beavers, and endangered Trumpeter Swans.
This spectacular home is a boaters' and fishermen's paradise with three 30' docks and 5 boat slips equipped with 30 amp electricity and city water. At the end of your day out on the water, barbeque steaks and burgers on the grill and have a cocktail on our huge deck.
After dinner, relax with a glass of wine or cold beer on the deck or roast marshmallows around a blazing wood campfire. Of course, we provide an ample supply of firewood and provide scented oil for the tiki torches for your added enjoyment.
For families with children, our home is the ideal get-away. Parents will be able to relax while overseeing the kids fish or play out on the deck or open grounds. We also have a wide variety of toys and family games, wireless internet, satellite television with movie channels, an extensive DVD and book library. Enjoy a whole house sound system with speakers literally in every room and outside deck with selectable music channels with acoustics that rival a concert setting.
Better yet, visit the great local beaches, state parks, amusement parks, playgrounds, water parks and other nearby attractions.
Want to stay in? Relax in the sun all day, play one of our many board games or watch a selection on our large flat-screen HD TV. Like to fish? Throw in a line and catch a huge bass right off the dock! We routinely catch bass, catfish, pan fish and more off the dock. Kids delight in catching fish every time they put a worm in the water.
Our beautiful home is the ideal family retreat and has hosted several family reunions. We have two full size bedroom suites each with queen beds and private baths. Another bedroom / office also has a queen bed and private bath. We also have a spacious loft currently with four queen size beds and private bathroom facility upstairs. Our home is wheel chair accessible. However, there are steps leading to
the front entrance and down to the docks.
All furnishings, linens, cooking utensils, kitchenware, microwave, toasters, and coffee maker are included. We also provide items such as but not limited to basic seasonings, ketchup, mustard, coffee, sugar and creamer. Smoking is allowed (on the outside deck and grounds only). Pets are not allowed.

Hi everyone. George and Rita Dufresne/Kasper here. Our family purchased this home in 2010 as a dream retirement and family get-away. We have had many family gatherings here over the years and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Renters are certainly welcome to chat with us whenever we are on site. We are very friendly and would be very pleased to share our insights on everything that The Stone Manor has to offer.
George Dufresne purchased this estate in 2010
Our entire family is originally from Michigan. However, over the years, everyone slowly migrated down to Ohio and the Port Clinton area and now we all live here enjoying everything this exciting town has to offer. We love this property because there is something to do for everyone at any age! we just cannot say enough about what we love about our home. The kids are never bored and everyone who visits finds something that they like to do. In addition to all the outdoor activities, there are some quaint shops in downtown Port Clinton and Marblehead that we love to walk through as well as interesting flea markets. We could go on and on about our weekly art and cultural festivals as well but you get the idea. It's just plain good family fun!
The most unique benefits of The Stone Manor are the 3 docks and 6 boat slips available for your enjoyment and that of your visitors. Our huge deck provides a panoramic view of the grounds and open water on 3 sides. The great room and fireplace is spacious and accommodating. The home is wheel chair accessible on the lower level. The home's accoutrements are varied and interesting and represent quite an amassed collection over the years. The place is bright and cheerful and beckons your return. The Stone Manor is great for the entire family!
The home and property are beautiful. The inside of the house is even more beautiful than the pictures portray. We would stay here again.
Owner was very welcoming. House is large and beautiful with plenty of room for all the people we brought for the week. Everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and welcoming was there.... And then some. We will be returning.
Our extended family enjoyed seven days at The Stone Manor. George (the owner) represented the house very well and even helped us find the launching ramp for our crew. We brought a ski boat, jet ski and pontoon boat and there was ample room for all with extra dock space. The location of the house allows for a great time to people watch, boat watch, catch fish, fly kites, sit around the fire ring, sit on the deck and catch some Vitamin D, or just to read a good book. We had several friends over for the day and they all remarked how outstanding the house and amenities were. With seven total queen size beds, everyone had a place to catch some ZZZZ's. The grill was used a lot to cook ribeye steaks, butterfly pork chops, fresh fish caught on site, burgers and the last day we even tried doing bacon on the grill. The family room / kitchen / great room was the focal point inside. All appliances were utilized and are top-of-the-line. My wife especially liked the large washer and dryer. Weshould have packed half the clothes since it was easy to just wash what we wore. Would recommend the Stone Manor only if you are interested in having fun and want to have an Outstanding vacation.
The home is - well equipped and 'super clean'!
You could see the pride George has in his home as he took us on the introductory tour. If you have a question during your stay George is quick to respond.
George and his wife live in the adjoining apartment ... but that was no problem for us as we never saw them unless we needed something.
Though I must apologize for all the noise my 3 nephews all less than 4 years of age made! George must be a Saint because he never once complained. I had forgotten how much little kids scream! (Sorry George!)
They have thought of everything:
peddle boats, life jackets, chairs and umbrellas, firepit with plenty of dry wood and firestarter, tiki torches, gas grill with plenty of gas, some fishing poles and tackle to catch a few off the docks.
Trash bags, spices, mustard and ketchup, Toilet paper. paper towels, saran wrap and foil etc...
A good time was had by all age 2 to 82 !!!
The Stone Manor is a beautiful home with a great view from the deck. We enjoyed the fishing from the dock, but didn't have any luck catching a walleye. We also enjoyed relaxing on the deck and watching the boats pass by the house. A couple of nights we even enjoyed the fire pit and roasted marshmallows. The teenagers had fun using the paddles boats as well as the adults. The teenagers loved the loft. George was very friendly when he gave us a tour of the house and gave us some suggestions for restaurants. We would recommend the house to anyone.
The Ponder Family
St. Louis, MO
This is a nice house with a great owner, George. He was very helpful and communicated very well. It is great to have access to two docks right next to the house and easy access to a marina very close by.
The house comfortably slept the 10 of us, and the beds were very comfortable. Each of the regular bedrooms had an attached full bath but the loft only has a half bath.
The kitchen had everything that you will need to cook and eat your own meals, but it would have been nice to have storage for our food and other items. There were limited empty cupboards for storage and many of the closets in the house were locked for owner usage or storage.
If you go, we would recommend that you check out Mon Ami Winery.
