About the property

5 Bedroom, 3.5 Bathroom OR 7 Bedroom, 4.5 Bathroom

Take a peek at our mountain retreat! With a 1.5 mile walk to town and the same distance to the main gate at Tanglewood, the location is ideal. Chic furnishings, eclectic artwork and modern amenities make this house the perfect spot to unwind in the Berkshires. On our 5 acres of protected woods, you will find a trailhead allowing you to hike straight into Kennedy Park. Your kids will love discovering the little brook that winds through the property. As of last June, the tennis court has a brand new har-tru surface!

** NOTE: The main house can accommodate up to 11 people, and has seasonal rental fees listed under Rates. The guest house accommodates an additional 4 people, and rents at a nightly fee of $250 plus cleaning. **

We have just finished carefully updating our 4,400 square foot home and 1,200 square foot guest house, while still maintaining its original log cabin charm. Inside the house you will find five well appointed bedrooms, three beautifully renovated bathrooms and a new powder room on the ground floor. The heart and soul of the house is an expansive living room with a brick fireplace, a TV area, and a grand piano. Step out of the living room, onto a furnished balcony to take in the pristine view of the valley below. Prepare feasts in the fully equipped kitchen, which has just been updated with all new appliances. In the warmer months, you'll be able to dine al fresco on the mahogany deck just off the kitchen. For a detailed description of the floor plan, scroll down to 'Unique Benefits'.

For groups larger than 11, you can now rent the newly refurbished Guest House. It is a separate building on the property, conveniently located just a few steps from the main house. The Guest House has two bedrooms (with queen size beds), one bathroom and laundry facilities. The open plan kitchen with gas range is part of the bright and airy main living space with a dining table, as well as living room furniture for lounging. Please note - the Guest House is only available to groups who are renting the Main House.

Choosing to rent a house instead of booking a hotel room allows you the space to get together with friends and family in comfort and privacy. It gives you the flexibility of preparing your own meals on your own timeline. But you shouldn't have to sacrifice the luxury you may enjoy during a hotel stay. At our home, you will find designer bedding, pure cotton bath towels, and brand new mattresses - Berkshire bliss! At the end of your stay, all you need to do is pack your bags and walk out the door. We don't expect you to strip the beds, empty the fridge, or take out the garbage. We offer a worry-free experience right up to the last moment.

With a tranquil setting in a central location, this rambling five-bedroom beauty has everything you need for a quintessential Berkshire escape.

About Caitlin Yadav

We live a few hours away, in Westchester, NY. We've been coming to the Berkshires ever since we first started dating, 10 years ago. And now we are thrilled to have our own place to bring our three children.

Caitlin Yadav purchased this house in 2014

Why Caitlin Yadav chose Lenox

We couldn't resist this place! The house itself has tons of character. The surrounding woods are great for admiring or exploring. And the proximity to both Tanglewood and town could not be beat. As the previous owner explained to us, this is a very special place in the universe. So we feel lucky to have discovered it, and look forward to sharing it with you!

What makes this house unique

The 4400 sqft home is comprised of a spacious log cabin built in 1920, and a later addition with kitchen, dining, laundry and more bedrooms. The two ends of the house are connected by a sun-drenched breezeway that lends privacy to the different sleeping areas. The original building features a grand living room furnished with stylish antiques and big, comfortable sofas for lounging. The ground floor also includes a study and a king bedroom with a full bath. The second floor has two spacious bedrooms (one king and three twins respectively) which share a full bath with a claw foot tub and a separate shower.

At the other end of the house, you will find an inviting country kitchen, that opens up to a large dining area. The farm table seats 10 comfortably, and there is an adjoining dining area for children. Above the kitchen are two queen bedrooms, a hall bathroom with shower, and a TV den for the kids (or the kid in you). While we have added a few modern amenities, the house maintains its quirky cottage charm. It's roomy layout affords plenty of private spots to curl up with a book, yet there is ample space for large gatherings.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Your attention to detail, design aesthetic and special touches made our stay at your home an absolute pleasure. Your home was clean and well stocked with the essentials. We were so comfortable and felt well taken care of. It was also a wonderful location--far enough away from the town center to feel perfectly at peace, but close enough that it was easy to drive in and get breakfast/shop around. It was also just 5 minutes away from the MassAudubon wilderness center for some wonderful hiking! Thanks again for everything. We didn't want to leave. What a beautiful home!

An absolutely perfect weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Caitlin and Vik’s home was nothing short of amazing! Perfect place for a girls weekend to relax, recoup and spread out. They pay attention to EVERY detail. From every utensil in the kitchens, cosmetic towels and supplies in the bathrooms, extra throw blankets to giant cushy couches to hang out and enjoy a cozy fire. Caitlin also left plenty of recommended places we went out to enjoy! Caitlin checked in mid weekend to make sure all was well. The home was beautifully decorated (which SO many commented on) and impeccably clean. Thank you, Caitlin and Vik. We were sad to leave but hope to be back in the near future.

Fantastic Find!

  • 5 of 5

I'm just back from a weekend away in the Berkshires with 8 girlfriends and Caitlin & Vik's home could not have suited our needs any better! The home was clean, well-maintained and beautifully decorated, and oh-so-cozy! We practically lived in the living room laughing, playing games and just enjoying each others company and reminiscing in front of the fireplace. It's the perfect home for a large group. We had a minor issue with a blown fuse - 9 ladies and multiple blow dryers will do that! - and Vik was quick to respond to let us know where the fuse box was. It happened to be under the home (yikes!), but thankfully, even that was impeccably clean and well lit (phew)! What a wonderful weekend away with friends made even better by such an awesome space. We all agreed we'd definitely stay here again if we found ourselves back in the Berkshires :)

Wonderful weekend with friends

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend with friends. This home was missing nothing. We had eight adults and there was more than enough room. House was very equipped and we lacked nothing.

Wonderful Berkshires Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We spent a lovely week in this great house. House is close to both Lenox and Tanglewood and other Berkshire destinations. We were a group of 9 with ages from 19 to 92. All of us found space to spread out when we needed to and to come together when we wanted to. Kitchen is very well equipped. House was very clean. Beds very comfortable. Really enjoyed the tennis courts also.

Would highly recommend a stay!

Wonderful Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We usually travel to the Cape for vacation but spent the first week of August in Lenox this year. I was a bit nervous renting a property site unseen, but the house and grounds were exactly as posted. There were 11 of us in the main house, very spacious, clean and comfortable. We rented the guest house for 2 nights for overflow, also perfect for our family. We enjoyed playing tennis, relaxing on the deck and hammock, going to Tanglewood, museums, lake...We had a minor issue (ice maker not working) and the owners, Caitlin and Vik, were extremely responsive and helpful. We would definitely rent this property again!

Lovelier than described

  • 4 of 5

A very well appointed home - large, spacious and comfortable. Furniture, fixtures and small things - personal care and kitchen items better than expected. Property was beautiful and well situated to the area attractions that interested us. Walking distance to center of town and Tanglewood, easy to find but well enough hidden to not be bothered by traffic or noises.
