Galveston has a rich history! Our home was built by a local architect for Nathaniel Spence in 1906. We love the open feel of the home and the laid back atmosphere that is pure Galveston! It is located in a quiet neighborhood with security and privacy for our family and guests. Lush tropical gardens and great outdoor gathering spaces make for a relaxing stay! View the lights from the Pleasure Pier from the upper porch!

What makes this house unique

This beautiful home has an open feeling with many of the original features! High ceilings, stained glass windows and gorgeous mouldings! Double Doors upstairs and a clawfoot tub in the bath! Property is surrounded by a high privacy fence with an electric gate. Outdoor brick patio areas are surrounded by lush landscaping. Wash off the kids and the dog at our outdoor shower area. Toy Shed has a Stand Up Paddle Board, Surf Board, Boogie Boards, Beach Chairs, Beach Shade Shelter, Portable Gas Grill, Charcoal Grill/Smoker, Rolling Cooler, and two bikes. TV in living area as well as a smart TV and Blue Ray player in the upstairs area! Large ice maker to fill up that cooler! Board games for the kids! Well behaved house trained dogs are welcome!

  • Downstairs bath has a one person shower, toilet and pedestal sink. Just what you need for downstairs entertaining. The upstairs bathroom features a claw foot tub, period hardware and a walk-in glass double size shower with double shower heads!

  • The North Bedroom has a queen four poster bed and a twin daybed with a trundle. It has a walk in closet and a 32' smart tv. The door to the upstairs porch is in this room. It adjoins the South Bedroom through solid double doors. The South Bedroom has a queen iron bed with a twin iron bed in the bay window. This room is connected to the Trunk Room through an open doorway. The Trunk Room has a twin daybed and a walk out window to the upstairs porch. The East Bedroom is not connected to the others and has a four poster queen bed. Ample storage in each bedroom and tall windows. Furnishings are cottage style and the original hardwood floors are painted with Victorian stencils. Beautiful architecture everywhere! Ceiling fans in all bedrooms except the Trunk Room. It has a crystal chandelier! There are also two fold out ottoman beds, a crib and electric queen blow up mattress.

Historic charm and beautiful architecture come standard in this home! Outside showers provided to wash off the sand from the beach! 'Toy' shed includes bikes, surfboards, and other beach equipment! Quiet neighborhood and laid back beach feeling! The house is fully stocked with everything you need for the perfect beach vacation! We now have a golf cart that can be rented!

Rented the house for an overnight leadership retreat. Property owner easy to communicate with and very helpful. Beautiful, well-kept home with lots of extras. Homes immediately surrounding were also well kept which lent to the charm and safe -feel of the property. HIGHLY recommended!

Beautiful historic home.

Having grown up in Houston, Galveston always held a special charm to me and the location of the Captain's Quarters gave me a fantastic base to explore the city, restaurants, and beaches from. The house is as pretty as pictured. I loved sitting out on the wrap around balcony and porch to enjoy the cool breezes and gorgeous landscaping. The house has everything we needed for a perfect stay.

Beautiful home!

My husband and I took our 33 year old daughter and her 2 kids for a long weekend to Galveston. This house had more than enough room. It was such a beautiful home with everything you could possibly need. We walked to the beach once, but drove the other times, only because we brought lots of stuff to the beach with us. The beds were comfy and we loved the outside seating areas to have our coffee in the morning. We will be back!

Melissa's home was fantastic! Beautifully renovated while still retaining its historic charm. We were a family if 6 and we had plenty of room. Tastefully decorated with all we needed! Well stocked kitchen, bathroom essentials, backyard toys and beach equipment! Convenient walk to the Seawall, just a few blocks and about a 20 min walk to the Strand. Hotel Galvez was only 2 blocks away. Melissa was very responsive and graciously allowed us to check in early! I would highly recommend her home and would definitely stay Again. Thank you Melissa for making our vacation memorable!
