Incredible bit of Italian life!
My husband and I stayed for 6 weeks (April and May). It was exactly what we were looking for; a bit of what we always think of Italy. Staying in a hilltop town, with only a couple restaurants and churches, and astonishing views of the ocean and the Italian landscape was so much better than we had hoped. The apartment was great, with plaster walls and exposed beams, the tiny kitchen was well supplied, and the shower, while being tiny, had great water pressure. The view from the main room was remarkable, but even better on the small patio at the front door. The only unexpected was the highway at the bottom of the hill, but it was quite far away, and the sound soon just blended into the sounds of the town, and the ocean . There was so much to see close by - fantastic beaches just down the hill (about 20 min drive) and wonderful hilltop towns all around.
Francesca was wonderful - her family helped when we needed something, she gave us lots of support and information, and was very considerate and accommodating. If I'm ever able to return, I would love to stay for even longer!
Carrie, I am happy you had a good stay in Torre di Palme.
Cozy villetta in the sky
Serafino a caretaker, was waiting for us and introduced us to the house. It was clean, well equipped and warm. The location high above the coast gave commanding views on clear days all the way to the Conero. Trips along the coast and into le Marche and the mountains were easy from the Autostrada and local roads. Don't miss Fermo! In this small paese, we often ran into Alide, the wife of Serafino, and we're warmly received by local residents.

Sandy beaches are just 5 minutes away by car. Torre di Palme offers a unique atmosphere, that brings tourists to enjoy the view, fresh air and its beautiful Romanesque churches heritage of the Middle Ages when the small village was an important center. Cars rarely come into the village, and are left in a parking lot just below the village walls, so children can roam freely the alleys and terraces. The locals enjoy to meet outside the bar, and in the many terraces, it is very easy to get into conversation in this community where everybody is connected.
In the nearby town of Porto S. Giorgio each beach has bar, restaurant children playground, many have a basket or volley ball facilities. Just outside the village walls is a children playground with a convenient lawn where to practice football.
Tips: the area is rich of shoes outlets of the best Italian brands, a map with addresses is available for guests.
Other places to see: nearby are the beautiful town of Fermo, a jewel town in the Marche bridging Middle Ages and Renaissance, Roman cisterns among the largest remaining, a scenographic square, a remarkable art and culture heritage; the picturesque seaside town of Grottammare. 45 minutes away one can visit Ascoli Piceno with Roman origin enriched by a beautiful renaissance square, remarkable churches and palaces, Macerata with its opera theater and the Conero coast.
