Why Raquel Reyes Rock chose Massa Lubrense

The villa is divided into apartments and each with its own independence.

We can also receive up to 10 people.

And 'situated in a quiet location surrounded by olive trees, particularly with fascinating views of the countryside and the sea.

Access, however, is tight so if you arrive by car we advise to take small or medium-sized cars, or if you prefer to park in the village and walk down.

A relaxing week at Villa Erca!

  • 5 of 5

The three of us had a very enjoyable week at Villa Erca which was a beautiful traditional villa in a great elevated position looking over the surrounding countryside. We were in the Capri appartment which was spacious over two floors and had great views from the balconies There were two tight spiral staircases but that added to the novelty.

As mentioned the villa is high on a hill so you get a cool breeze through even though it was unusually hot during our stay. There was a supplied fan in the main bedroom as well. We also had a small travel fan with us for the smaller child's room.

It is well equipped with all the things as described in the advert. Beatrice and Raquel were very responsive when we needed minor things and gave us some suggestions for the area

The pool was as good as it looks in the pictures. My daughter would happily have stayed in the water playing with the other children all week instead of venturing on trips out if we had let her!

We explored the surrounding villages on foot a fair bit - there is a network of narrow lanes through fruit orchards. You really are out in the sticks which was exactly what we were looking for. However, you can still easily get to a couple of local shops and restuarants on foot in about 10 minutes. Particularly liked the Ristorante de Francesco in Schiazzano, friendly staff , very flexible and helped with our gelato every day challenge :-) ! We regularly walked down to Santa Maria where we had no real trouble parking the car. We also did a longer and worthwhile walk down to Marina della Lobra harbour where there are some nice harbourside places to eat and drink.

As other people have mentioned getting up to the villa by car is a bit of a challenge. We mistakenly hired an automatic and I don't think it would have got up to the villa even in manual mode so we didn't even attempt it. Think of the Lakes Hardknott pass but steeper (but shorter!). In the end it didn't really matter for us anyway. We only used the car for longer trips to Vesuvius and Sorrento.

Thanks for a great time! Matt, Vicky and Beth

Thank you Beatrice and Raquel!

Raquel for your prompt replies to our emails and for giving a detailed briefing of what to see and where to go,map included!

Beatrice for warm reception and advice whenever we had a question. Most importantly, thank you for sharing your amazing Villa, having access to fresh herbs and spices right on our balcony made home cooking a delight!

Waking up to a view of Capri every morning could not fail to put a smile on our faces :D

Only regret is that we did not take advantage of the outdoor Pizza oven!

Next time :)

Beautiful sunsets every evening, Villa ERCA is in a commanding position, not just for the views, but for being close to everywhere you would want to see on the Amalfi coast and around Naples.

We would strongly recommend Villa ERCA, we had Villa Capri, just beautiful :D

Such an idyllic villa

  • 5 of 5

The Villa Capri (in the Erca villa) is simply fabulous. The views, the furnishings, the peace and quiet, the finishing touches; all simply wonderful. Such a great find. We thought it was simply lovely. A great base to explore the Sorrento peninsular from etc. Raquel and Beatrice are wonderful people who go that little extra to sort anything that you need and they seem to know everyone to get the job done.

Thank you Raquel for making it such a great holiday.

Owner's Response: Dear guest, we are sorry you gave us only 3 stars considering you wrote us the day before your arrival looking for an accommodation and we tried our best to receive you. about the problem of ONE shower of one of the 3 bathrooms you send me a message to inform me about this problem and I was able to send you a plumber but you said it was not necessary. Of course I thought you preferred to don't have people in the apartment. When you went to Beatrice to say again about the problem of ONE shower then I decided to send somebody even if not necessary for you!!!! About the DVD it is probably that the last customers brake it and once you told that we immediately bought another one for you. In October we collect the olives to make olive oil and usually all our customers love to see how it works. unfortunatly October is not like August and it is not that hot so the probably you could not enjoy the swimming pool as in summer. All around the property the owners make them olive oil that is why you can smell some smoke some day. We are sorry you had not a 5 stars holiday in this villa.

Wonderful Villa

  • 4 of 5

We spent a week at the Capri apartment of Villa Erca in June 2015. The other apartment was empty during the week so we got the pool area all to ourselves, which was great. The apartment as well as the garden were beautifully decorated, clean and well maintained. The balcony was spacious and had a direct view to the sea and Capri island. We got a lot of information about the surrounding areas and tips where to visit from the owners, which was useful. There was a friendly housekeeper visiting the villa daily helping us with any small question we might have.

The area is very calm, authentic and further from the mass tourist places, still close to Sorrento, Naples and Pompei. The only reason why we wouldn't give 5 stars was the access to the villa. The road is very narrow and steep, so you it's important to have a small car, good driving skills and nerves. However, we got used to it after a little while. Otherwise we were very happy with our choice and would definitely recommend the villa.

Owner's Response: Really thanks for your words. you are always welcome in my properties and I highly suggest you as costumers. Unfortunatly I can't make a bigger road as access. I understand that it can be considered a defect of the villa but the narrow access avoid to have a busy area around the property and this make it more quite. Thank you for all your appreciations and for your stay Raquel

Dormire in un'antica Villa con vista su Capri

  • 5 of 5
