Really very nice house! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

  • 4 of 5

Stayed in November, 2 couples in 50 range. House was wonderful. Updated, modern kitchen and bathrooms with heated floors. Nice treat with temperatures in the 20's. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. We stayed Thanksgiving week and was able to prepare traditional meal. It snowed and was beautiful! Words can't express. Snowboarded for the first time. The night sky was filled with stars. Carson National park hiking was breathtaking.

No negative remarks for this property. Only wish, upstairs was accessible from main house, but we adjusted quickly.

Would recommend.

Perfect mix of quiet and convenience

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at the house with our two kids in July, 2016. The house was the perfect mix of solitude and convenience. We were a quick drive to trail heads, and an easy drive into Taos for a day spent browsing in town. The house itself is amazing! They did such a nice job with the renovations. The Kitchen / Living area is open and airy, the bedrooms are cozy and comfortable. The renovated upstairs bedroom / Living room space was a great place for the kids the lounge and play when it was rainy.

All the comforts and conveniences of home including laundry and BBQ grill, and some spa worthy touches like the jacuzzi bathtub. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back to visit again in the wintertime to enjoy skiing at Sipapu!

Great house, perfect NM mountain location.

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four had a great week in this NM mountain setting. This is a neat house. Well appointed and stocked with all cooking needs (spices and coffee too). Cooked every meal for the week in the awesome kitchen. Nice wrap around covered outdoor area and sitting on the balcony or large backyard provides great views. The setting of this property is wonderful if your looking for a quiet relaxing week. Front yard diversion creek off the Rio Santa Barbara is extra cool. Views of Jicarita peak are awesome. Internet and sat tv worked great to let the kids veg out while wife and I drank coffee on the balcony.

The area. This is a lush valley, it rained a good amount (late summer monsoon) which made it seem even more so. Rio Santa Barbara is a pretty big creek and it's classic western mountain stream beauty. Big enough to make crossing it sketchy in spots while fly fishing. The Santa Barbara camp ground is only five miles up the road and an easy hike from the trailhead there of just over a mile and you're in the Pecos Wilderness. Basically depending on how fast you can hike you can be in a US Wilderness area in under an hour from the front door. And it's a beautiful hike loaded with wild flowers and wild raspberries. My six year old collected about a pint of them on the way out of the Wilderness one day. The area must be even more awesome in the fall as there is a crazy amount of aspens and huge ones at that. We were able to rent a jeep in ABQ and there are 4wd roads all over the place in this area which provides another fun adventure.

Thanks Benjamin,

Look forward to renting in the fall sometime to hike through the aspens.

Excellent Place To Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the Casa Romero. The place was as advertised except it was even better stocked than the description. Within easy driving distance of many historic and scenic places, Taos, Mora, the Rio Grande gorge, and, of course the national forest. The house overlooks a beautiful green valley and it was so pleasurable just watching the great sunsets. We hope that we get the opportunity to return in the future.

We LOVED staying here and I would recommend it to anyone!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the drive back out to our 'home' every evening! The home is absolutely beautiful and stayed cool during the hottest days of June. We even lit a fire two of the evenings we were there. I can't say enough positive things about the home. We will stay again if we are back in the area. Thanks so much for sharing your home.
