This 13th century tower belonged to the very powerful Donati family. In the eighteenth century the mansion passed to the Tassinari family, and finally in 1929 to the family of the current owners.

We are a family with a teenage daughter. We love Florence and Tuscany, but also the world! :)
Antonella purchased this apartment in 1929
I wanted to share this beautiful apartment and its stunning views with visitors to this magical city.
In a historic building of the 13th-16th centuries, protected by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage, two apartments of different beauty, one spectacular, 'The Terrace of the Donati Tower', and one functional, 'The little hole of the wine', two different ways to live a unique experience in Florence.
We stayed in not one but two of Antonella's units and there were both terrific. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the views simply amazing. We hosted our daughter and her friends for a rooftop dinner and they all said it was one of the most memorable nights of their studying abroad experience. The location was ideal for shopping, dining out and seeing the sights. We hope to return to Florence again and would not consider staying anywhere else!

This was an excellent property & owner. Antonella was extremely accomodating & informative. The property was well located & beautiful. Bedrooms were spacious & comfortable. Living area was large with comfortable furniture. Kitchen had everything you could need. Bathroom was clean & well appointed. The best was the terrace. Wonderful views, great location, easy access into the apartment, nice neighborhood with everything you could need. Walking distance to all of Florence's sites.
We could not have had a better experience. This place is amazing & so is Antonella.
The apartment was absolutely perfect! The building is a historical, beautiful one, in the center of it all. The terrace was incredible. The views, the charm of the apartment, all were perfect. The owners were so welcoming and thought of every detail to make our stay unforgettable! When we go back to Florence, we will make sure to stay there again! Antonella and Stefano - thank you so very much for your hospitality!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It was very centrally located. So close to all of Florence's great attractions but quiet as you are high above the street. Antonello and Stephano were very attentive, from meeting us at the door to making sure our taxi came to get us a few streets away when we departed. We walked from the train station and the name of the street this is on changes so be aware , we missed it the first time. They showed us the apartment, and pointed out several places we might be interested in - grocery stores, restaurants etc. There were several good restaurants in the immediate area so were very pleased with that.
To reach the apartment you need to go through the heavy wood door to the street, down a hall, then turn to go to the elevator, - or take the steps, which we did several times. But the elevator was nice to have with luggage or just at the end of a long day. Then at the top of our floor there is a door to the apartment. We felt very safe and secure.
Large bedrooms with comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, super clean and nice bathroom, and the highlight of the apartment - the terrace. The views don't get much better than this, from Santa Croce to the Palazzo Vecchio tower and the Duomo. Beautiful sunsets were seen from this spot , and it was a delightful place to start the day. We were there late September and it was warm, but mornings were cool, so we really appreciated the fluffy robes that were provided. Also provided were fruit and wine, and high quality toiletries.
Antonello and Stephano were wonderful hosts, they made us feel very welcome and responded immediately to any questions or requests. This is a gem ,we wish we could have stayed longer!
My mother (82-years old) and I spent an unforgettable week in this apartment and couldn't have been more pleased with the space, the location and our host's warm hospitality and attention to detail. When we arrived early, Stefano and Antonella graciously met us and allowed us to store our luggage. When we checked in, they took their time making sure we were comfortable (great beds!) and knew how everything worked and where the best restaurants and grocery stores were - all within a short walk. The location of this apartment is perfect and it was immaculate and had everything we needed (plus lovely robes and soaps for us to use). Antonella and Stefano had a bottle of wine and water chilled in the fridge, coffee makings handy and fresh fruit waiting for us in the kitchen. The working elevator was a life saver and made life easy for my mom. Each morning we savored our coffees on the terrace while listening to the bells chime, and in the evenings, we sipped cocktails and wine from the terrace and watched the lights of the Duomo and Church of Santa Croche glow softly. When we checked out (very sadly) Stefano called us a cab and walked us to the spot to make sure we did not miss it. This place is to die for and the landlords are very special. I can't wait to go back.
Very nice apartment with wonderful 5th floor terrace. Enjoyed the evenings with wine and snacks outside overlooking the city. Location close to everything right in the historic district. Antonella & Steano were excellent hosts helping with everything from the logistics of driving in and parking to recommendations on restaurants and activities.
