Great place, had the essentials!

Only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the deadbolt didn't lock. The hotel-style door did automatically, but the deadbolt was broken, which was not ideal for 2 women staying the weekend.

OK - Not Great

I travel a lot -- and have stayed in everything from 5 star hotels to couch-surfing - so I am not a snob about the kind of place I stay except I do require it to be clean. This property in Canmore is definitely clean -- no problem there -- but it didn't have any soul. It felt like the owner only purchased this place to rent out but hasn't taken the time to understand some of the nuances of what travelers need. Except for a single email when you book this unit and your reservation has accepted, there is literally no interaction with this property owner.

Most places have some level of information about the area in the unit but nothing like that here. I did leave a number of brochures and maps in the unit for others to see - but for all I know, the cleaning lady has ditched them. Yes, there is a kiosk of brochures by the front desk where you check in to collect your keys and receive a general information sheet -- but there's nothing warm or inviting about this place -- you are literally just renting a couple of rooms. I've been in hotel rooms that make you feel more welcome and provide you with more information about the area you're visiting than this place did.

Of particular note -- make sure you bring a robe or don't plan on walking around nude in the apartment -- your neighbors can see in from every direction -- and can hear everything going on within 50' of the unit (and beyond)...especially if you have windows open like we did. There is absolutely NO PRIVACY in this unit.

There are towels provided -- but there's not a single hook to hang a wet towel on...in fact, there is NOTHING to hang a wet towel on except for the shower rod. This is one detail that clearly indicates the owner never has lived in this unit (or intended to).

I know it may seem like I'm picking this place apart for minor things -- but as everyone knows -- the devil is in the details. And when people are parting with their hard earned money to get a 'home away from home' -- that's what you expect -- a home away from home.

One great feature about this unit is it's location. You're not far from anything and the main road (Trans Canada Highway) is just a couple minutes away. And another great feature is that you have an indoor parking space.

Canmore is a lovely town -- I would definitely visit here again. But when I do, I'll probably look for a place to stay that feels more homey and affords more privacy than this.

Beautiful condo but could definitely use air conditioning.

Comfy beds and very clean except for a couple of dribbles down the wall which I wiped because I'm just anal like that...lol. Air conditioning would be lovely but there was fans which helped alot. Deadbolt doesn't work though you still have the key card lock. Everything we needed dish wise and loved having the washer/dryer for doing up some dirty towels and such. Very enjoyable stay!

Nice Condo, but needs a little TLC

Beautiful condo great location just minutes walk to downtown. But main toilet didn't flush properly, not all tv's worked and found the loft very hot.

Other than those few problems everything was as advertised. The one hot tub was so close and convenient. The complex had three hot tubs and one heated pool.

We really enjoyed our stay, don't know what else there is to say.

Owner's Response: Thanks for staying in our condo. I'm so sorry about the toilet not flushing properly (!). I really appreciate you letting me know... I called the plumber today and it will be fixed tomorrow. Sorry to hear about the hassle with the TV too... it was an issue once before and I thought between myself and the SHAW guy, we had it sorted out. Two guests having trouble is 2 too many! I'll be ordering a new television tonight. I hope these hassles didn't deter your pleasure of the grandeur of the mountains. Thanks again for your reservation, and your honest feedback.

Comfortable Accommodations for Six Adults

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend with our adult sons and their partners. The six of us were very comfortable in the condo. The high ceilings and the loft made the place feel very open. The lay-out of the unit was perfect for us, with comfortable sitting areas and a good sized kitchen that didn't feel cramped with six adults moving around. The fireplace, pool and hot tub were all well appreciated after the day of skiing. The two beds were very comfortable whereas the sofa bed was adequate for the weekend. Indoor parking was a bit tight for a half-ton but we were always able to find space. The unit was adjacent to the stairwell so access from the parade and moving around in the building to the pool area and front door was easy. Parking outside, on the street, was available but be prepared to walk a bit. We were surprised how quiet the building was despite its size and the number of families staying over the weekend. Carrie was responsive and the check-in/out was quick. Our refund was processed as promised. We would definitely stay here again.
