Description

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cottage in Tulum - Casita Milagros

A 20 minute drive to the Caribbean beaches of Tulum, Casita Milagros is located in a small private jungle community that is secured by a front entrance gate. Elevated among the trees in a high canopy jungle, this completely sustainable queen bedded room has windows on all sides bringing the outdoors in, and is equipped with a ceiling fan, mosquito netting and bathroom. It features an outdoor hot water shower surrounded by tropical plants to ensure privacy and an outdoor kitchen with a 2 burner gas stove top and sink.

The easily accessible rooftop is a beautiful place to watch the toucans and spider monkeys that often visit in the early evening. Twilight brings shades of deep blue to the jungle sky and a signal to mother nature that bedtime is near. Animals traversing the treetops in search of their nests provide a symphony of sound just before the spray of starlight quiets all.

After lounging on the white sand beaches, swimming in the turquoise blue ocean waters, visiting the Mayan ruins of Tulum or Coba, shopping in Tulum Centro, and exploring the nearby Mayan villages, Casita Milagros is a tranquil retreat.

A jungle fantasy

  • 5 of 5

After meeting Clayanna (very charming) we followed her out to the property. The minute I saw the place I regretted booking only two nights there. We were in Mexico for two weeks and we tried to do too much. Casita Milagros was a magical oasis of quiet and stillness within a very hectic vacation schedule. The treehouse feels like something from a fantasy novel with the most comfortable bed we've ever slept on. The jungle sounds are an ideal soundscape to sleep within. It is a perfect place to meditate and rediscover one's center. My wife and I do not typically return to previously visited areas, the world is a big place and there is more to see. However, we may make an exception in the case of Tulum, just so we can stay at Casita Milagros again, but next time we'll stay at least a week!

Gorgeous Jungle Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Clayanna has created an amazing and serene jungle home. Our stay was such a fun experience. Monkeys in the treetops in the mornings and all the beautiful jungle sounds at night. Clayanna was so gracious and lovely never tired of questions on where to go and where to eat, what to do and see. The location is fabulous for visiting Cenotes that dot the area and not far at all from Coba for a fun day trip to see the ruins. I would highly recommend renting a car which we did so you can have easy adventures around the area. Tulum beaches, shopping and restaurants are a short and pretty 15 min. drive but you can be at close by Cenotes for swimming within 5 min tops. The casita is so charming and all of the artistic touches around the whole property lend to the amazing character of the place. I am incredibly envious that she gets to live there full time! We spent 1/2 our stay here and 1/2 down in Tulum which I think is a great way to get to see all the area. Thank you Clayanna for such a fabulous jungle experience! We hope to be back soon!

Owner's Response: Thank YOU so much for staying with me in the jungle. I enjoyed you both so much. It is truly a treat to share my home with other like-minded people who appreciate nature the way I do! The monkeys knew It too because they made a special appearance for you guys at an unusual hour! I look forward to your return. You and your family always have a home here.

Amazing stay at casa Milagros

  • 5 of 5

Myself and my partner just had a wonderful stay at casa Milagros. Clayanna is a wonderful host and was very helpful during the stay. It was so lovely to be out of the usual places and off the beaten track in this jungle cabin. We saw monkeys, birds and beautiful butterflies. I would love to visit again and was a real experience. However we didn't have a car which made it a little difficult. The walk through the jungle is fine and fun with flashlights but i would really recommend hiring a car as its not walking distance to tulum town. Thanks Clayanna for a lovely stay and being such a sweet host! See u again

A magical experience!

  • 5 of 5

This was such a unique and special experience. The casita is about a mile into the jungle. The property is beautiful (the photos don't do it justice) and serene. The sounds of the birds, insects and animals were amazing. We saw monkeys, all types of birds and butterflies, iguanas, fireflies, and so much more.

The casita is very clean and well appointed. This is the jungle, so if you are squeamish around bugs, spiders and lizards, and you don't like to camp, this may not be the best fit for you. But if you love camping or "glamping", you won't be disappointed. The only slight negative for us was the compost toilet, which did have a bit of an odor. Considering the entire property is designed to be eco-friendly, this can't be prevented. Use the incense provided. It helps!

Clayanna is a sweetheart and takes pride in her property. She will answer any questions you may have. We loved every minute of our stay here and will definitely return.

Great place off the beaten path!!!

  • 5 of 5

Clayanna is a very gracious host. She met us in town and led us back to her jungle getaway. The treehouse is a ways off the main road, quiet with the sounds of nature all around. Clayanna gave us pointers on things to do, places to go, beaches to see, and places to eat. She has a very warm spirit.

The treehouse was amazing! Even in late July it was cool enough to comfortably sleep with the fans running. The screened Windows let all the sounds in but kept the critters out. The outdoor shower is so refreshing after a long day of sightseeing or laying on the beach.

Thank you Clayanna for making our trip so memorable!!

A Gem in the Jungle!

  • 5 of 5

WOW! This truly is a jungle tree house and staying here is such a unique experience that you will be hard pressed to find elsewhere. The property, situated about a 10 minute drive from downtown Tulum, is a gem. Sitting in the jungle, the sights and sounds of nature lull you to sleep at night and wake you up in the morning. The house comes with amenities that may seem basic compared to everyday life, but they're all you need here: outdoor shower, electricity, super comfortable bed complete with an encompassing bug net, furniture for storing clothes, a swing chair and an outdoor kitchen.

The immediate property also includes an area for hammock-swinging and just a few minutes walk up the dirt road, there's a roofed pavilion perfect for meditating, reading, stretching etc...

Our hostess Clayanna was amazing when it came to planning our arrival, coordinating a pick-up time in Tulum and offering some great suggestions that would have taken us a long time to research and consider. Upon arrival in Tulum, she could not have been more gracious, greeting us in town with a warm smile and hugs for two tired travelers. She introduced us to some local markets that would have been hard to find otherwise and gave us a fabulous, very well-informed and personal tour of her property and the tree house. Throughout our stay, she recommended cenotes for us to check out, towns to visit that we would have skipped otherwise and really looked out for us. We stayed four nights in the jungle and loved all of them. The hospitality here was such a treat, it made us want to stay longer and gave us hopes of returning!

The property was clean and tidy, very well-maintained and ideally located near Tulum while also close to the road that leads to Coba, Chichen-Itza and other sights that are certainly worth the trip.

Definitely stay at Casita Milagros if you're interested in a unique experience in Tulum, learning more about the land, seeing nature in the wild and unbeatable hospitality. Can't say enough wonderful things about Casita Milagros!

A few tips for future travelers staying here: plan to rent a car and bring headlamps (the jungle gets dark at night).
