Spacious and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

Lanark is a quiet and nice village between Glasgow and Edinburgh. New Lanark is a very interesting and well presented atraction. The house is in the centre of the village, close to many shops and services. It is well fournished and it is spacious and has a lot of light. It's easy to park arround. We were welcomed by owners.

Central, comfortable, clean.

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is very comfortable, in fact a three bedroom house above a restaurant. Very clean, everything worked, heating very efficient. June had left Christmas decorations and fresh flowers which were very much appreciated. Very central in Lanark one minute walk to the centre of the high street. There was scant noise from the restaurant, it was a very quiet street. Ideally situated to explore Scotland. We stayed a week and had a 10 out of 10 stay. We would recommend this apartment to our friends.

absolute Enttäuschung

  • 1 of 5

Owner's Response: I`m sorry your were so disappointed with your stay, however I feel your review is very unjustified and I would like to reply to the points you have made. 1. The most damaging comment is with regards to the closet which is a 2 foot high door in the attic bedroom which isn`t supposed to be opened by guests (it had been forced open) of course it had cobwebs and dust in it as it is access to roof space. 2. With regards to you comment re squeaky beds, all the beds ar divan beds and when checked I found only 1 headboard squeaky as it was a bit loose. This has since been rectified and could have been at the time had you contacted me. 3. TV & sky channels, I apologise for, someone had changed the hdmi cable at the back of the tv and that is why you couldn`t view it. All contact numbers for problems or queries are in the guest information folder in the apartment but you gave the message to a waiter in the restaurant next door who didn't pass on the message. When you did call me 2 days later I was there within 15 minutes and the problem was solved the next morning, however you intimate you still had no TV during your stay. No further contact was made by you and if the operating instructions for the TV were not understood I would have been happy to explain them to you. 4. WiFi again was reported to the waiter when you reported the TV and password was given to you at the time the TV was repaired and it worked perfectly well although the signal was slightly lower in the sitting room due to the apartment being and old building with thick stone walls. Signal strength was full in other parts of the apartment. However I will install a signal booster and see if this helps. 5. The Ventilation duct you mention has me perplexed as in the 15 years I have let the holiday apartment I have never had a complaint from guests about the ventilation noise from the restaurant next door. I feel I offer clean, comfortable and reasonably priced holiday accommodation and as you can see from my other reviews previous guests have been quite satisfied with their stay.
