Chalet Argousier is a wonderful place to stay and we had a perfect holiday

  • 5 of 5

Chalet Argousier is a wonderful place to stay and we had a perfect holiday:

Owner - Richard is very friendly, helpful, informative and extremely efficient, he answered emails almost before we'd sent them. He was also extremely accommodating, allowing us to change the dates of our holiday several times.

Apartment - it's just like it looks in the photos (minus the Christmas tree), lovely furniture, TV had lots of English channels to choose from, wifi was good enough for 2 teenagers which makes a change, beds were comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with everything that you need. It was also very clean and loved the heated bathroom floors.

Location - it's a great spot, we didn't bother with the bus we walked to Medran every morning to get the lift (it helped that we used the Ski Service lockers which I highly recommend) which stretched our legs before we started skiing. But if you did want to use the bus it's about a 30 yard walk and runs every 10 minutes. We had dinner in most nights but there are loads of restaurants around the apartment, we liked Chez Martin (great pizza) and Offshore Café (great veggie burger and deserts). We walked to Coop every morning before the kids got up for fresh bread and croissants for breakfast, it also stocked everything you need, and it's a bit bigger than the normal resort supermarket.

Skiing - the snow was great and runs were challenging enough to keep us interested all week, we skied the length of the Three Valleys on the last day and think Verbier is the best bit. Going across to Chable is well worth while, the red and black runs were long and at times it was just the 4 of us on the runs. Verbier introduced us to Yellow runs which are off piste runs marked out by just a pole every 50 yards or so.

I'm sure we'll go back.

Verbiers hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5

Chalet Argousier must be one of the finest modern appartments in Verbier.

The whole experience was so smooth and reasuring from booking through Richard who handled everything so efficienlty to entering the property, everything was completly as described. From going in the decor is modern and new unlike many propertys in Verbier that can be stuck in a time warp (affectionaly described as traditional) and spotlessly clean. The bathrooms are all new with showers that nearly knock you over they are so powerfull and equiped with underfloor heating, a dream after a long days sking. Tha kitchen is fitted with all the latest gadgets and the lounge has a fab fireplace to relax infront of and listen to music or watch a movie. The views are stunning and when the sun is out you can sunbath on the terrace to take it all in. There is a bus stop just 20 yards away making it very easy to get round if you dont want to take the 5 min walk to the center of the village with plenty of bars and restaurants. For a family holiday , romance or a base for hardcore activities in the montains this property will tick all your boxes. I only wish I owned it myself but I dont so I have booked it up again.

Thank you Richard from Simon and Jenny.

Warm & Inviting - Breath taking views

  • 5 of 5

From our first contact, Richard was immensely helpful and quick to respond to any questions. All instructions were clear and precise which meant finding the apartment was simple - always a good start!

The chalet exceeded expectations; the location was good for the town centre yet good too for running into the forest away from the town. We appreciated the quality of the fittings and furniture and the views of the mountains across the valley were sensational.

An eyebrow was raised when we saw we were next to a car park but this turned out to be very useful both for obvious reasons but also the fact that it was virtually empty and quiet in the evening meant it was a great space for the children to go and throw a rugby ball about.

Don't want to recommend the place too highly in case there isn't room for us to go again next year, but Electra, our 11 year old daughter said as we left, "This place has been perfect for us, hasn't it Mummy!"

Owner's Response: We love Verbier and the apartment and only wish others to enjoy as we do, I am very glad the Chalet exceeded your expectations and you had a super time. Our children also love the apartment and the outside space, we don't however come equipped with a rugby ball but I know we will next time and leave it for you to use, our best wishes Richard & Lou.

A lovely time at Chalet Argousier, Verbier

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this apartment w/c 2 Februrary 2011 - a merry band of 4 adults and 3 children. The apartment was really beautiful and the fixtures/fittings were excellent - we fell in love with your De Dietrich oven and hob! In addition, the apartment was really quiet, so was 100% perfect for us. Freeview with most of the UK channels was a massive hit (we even managed to watch the Ulster rugby match live on Friday night), and the kids were delighted to catch C-BEEBIES in the morning (not so sure that the rest of us were as thrilled!)

From our side, the only thing that would have been useful to know in advance was that there was a cafetiere in the apartment - it would have meant that we could have brought our favourite ground coffee with us - but a very minor point!

Thanks to Richard and Louise for allowing us to rent their lovely apartment - we would definitely go back again!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your very kind comments, we have tried to cover all elements of a home away from home, to provide a pleasant and comfortable experience, enabling all to relax, recharge the batteries and enjoy quality time away from the slopes. We hope you have a chance to return in the future. Best wishes, Richard and Louise.

Chalet Argousier; In Verbier is an ideal location for the perfect self catering ski holiday. As you will need easy access to the ski slopes, supermarkets, shops and the Place Central for Verbiers super après ski and fine restaurants, Chalet Argousier has all this! The bus stop is outside the rear of the apartment up a small slope. The Chalet is located on Chemin de la Croix which is between Ru de Centre Sportif and Route de Verbier Station. So just opposite (Route de Verbier Station) is the commercial centre with all the shops and supermarkets you will need, also just behind on (Ru de Centre Sportif) is more shops, which include a Ski hire shop, a CO-OP, The Wonder bar, etc, also located here is the Les Schtroumpfs day nursery. And of course if you need a swim in the heated indoor pool or a Turkish/sauna the sports centre is opposite. The place Central is just a gentle 6 minute walk! NEW FROM 2010 SHUTTLE service to the lifts from rear of the apartment, every 10 mins, just 1 stop!

Ski: The apartment position is excellent as is the skiing, just come out the apartment door and turn right up a small slope and you are on the ski bus stop where the service is frequent! The Medran lift is just four stops away or you can go on up to Savoleyres or the beginners slope of Les Esserts. We quite often use a ski locker at Medran (heated) and hop on the bus without our boots and skis. This means a pleasent stroll down Rue du Medran and enjoy the plentiful après ski bars and delightful restaurants and then collect our skis & boots from the locker in the morning and ski off for another perfect day of skiing! Also a 3 to 4 minute walk from the apartment if you have very young ones; is the Les Schtroumpfs day nursery, children taken from 3 months to 3 years: http://www.lesschtroumpfs.ch/p3.php (next to the Moulin lift) open daily from 8.30am to 5.30pm.
