Amazing View and great base to to visit Isle Of Skye from

  • 4 of 5

This property was very spacious with a stunning view. It was in the middle of a very rural area which was easy to get to with the instructions provided by the owner. There were two rooms with double beds and a children's room with twin bunk beds. The beds weren't the most comfortable however definitely served their purpose for a place to lay our heads after a long day of hiking. There was a great movie selection and a very spacious kitchen for nights spent in since the closest town was a short drive away. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Skye.

lovely view

  • 3 of 5

We were 4 ladies travelling and wanted to spend a couple of days in Skye. The cottage suited our needs but could not get in touch with the owner by phone when we were first arriving so had to ask a house nearby to help us find it, once we did all went well and was a great place to lay our heads after our busy days of exploring the beautiful sites.

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I had sent you fully detailed step by step directions which take you right to the house door and I also check with people before their stay that they have these instructions. I am sorry you were unable to contact me when you tried but the mobile signals must have been down. Kind regards Jacqui

A great location with gorgeous views!

  • 4 of 5

Pros: location, location, location! Plenty of space for two families. We loved the outdoor fire pit!

Cons: The entire property was not properly cleaned. The bed did not have a duvet cover or top sheet and the fitted sheet was stained! The mattress was very uncomfortable! We were lacking in linens overall. The kitchen was also lacking some basic cooking items.

Owner's Response: I am very surprised at your comments re cleaning. The kitchen had been cleaned and mopped prior to your stay. It is also adequately equipped. All the bedding is clean and fresh for every stay and there should not have been any stains on any bedding as myself and my cleaner check it while putting it on the bed. There was duvets and duvet covers on every bed and the spare bedding for the guest bed and camp beds were in the cupboard in the back bedroom as instructed. I will not be allowing 8 people to stay in the house again. You also got the house at a very reasonable rate. I am very disappointed in your comments based on your complaints.

Beautiful views

  • 4 of 5

The house was well situated with beautiful views all around. It was well stocked and had ample toiletries provided. The wood burning stove was nice on a cold rainy night. The one thing that could have been improved was the beds which were not very comfortable.

Great location and cottage for groups & families.

  • 5 of 5

Had a great stay at the cottage. Location is superb, not far from the Skeabost Hotel if you fancy a beer or meal and only 8 miles from Portree. Views of Loch Snizort from the living room, the cottage has everything you need for a trip to Skye and Jacqui was extremely helpful. Thanks.

Beautiful view, hot stove, hot bath!

  • 4 of 5

The best part about this property is the view. Looks out over a Loch and a hillside of sheep...couldn't get any better. It's about 15 minutes outside of Portree. The house itself is simple, but has everything you need (but not a full cupboard! bring your own tea/milk/etc.). We were two couples and my mom (she slept in the bunk bed room--not that comfortable, but she managed). Our bed was extremely comfortable.

We weren't at the house much at all, but when we were we benefitted from warming up by the hot stove and taking a lovely long bath. After a rainy 55 degree day, those amenities were much appreciated!

Our host was easy to communicate with. Wifi worked fairly well considering how remote we were. Overall a pleasant stay.
