Perfect location in the Latin Quarter
The flat is a perfect location near Place St. Michel and many of Paris' iconic sites are within walking distance. We loved the location near the Seine and the busy cafes and shops of Rue St. Andre des Arts, yet the the flat and our street was absolutely quiet with little traffic. The apartment is not minimalist modern, but it reflects the centuries old neighborhood of St. Germain. It has everything you need and be prepared for a 100 step walkup, but it was not a problem for us, two seniors. The kitchen has everything you need, bathrooms and bed are very comfortable and the quiet terrace with blooming flowers is a wonderful spot to just enjoy the sunshine of Paris. The best part of our stay was the owner, Roseline Bouret. She was engaging, a world traveler, and a superb host. We hope to stay in contact with her and return to her Paris flat.
Thank you so much for your very kind appréciation. Maybe you appreciated me as a host but I appreciated you even more as perfect guests. The only problem was that there was a risk I stayed with you 😁 during all your stay in my flat.
I hope we 'll meet again in Paris with an escape to Normandy.
I wish you the best.
Cozy, French and near perfect!
We don't know what we liked better, the location or the flat. Both are great. First of all, Roseline was very attentive and responsive from the moment I booked. She always responded quickly to any questions I had, despite the time difference. She greeted us upon our arrival and gave us a rundown of the flat, making herself available for any future assistance we needed. Due to negligence on my part, I missed her emails checking in with us and setting up a meet for our departure. We hated that. She could not have been more friendly and personable.
The flat itself is just how we pictured a parisienne flat. (check out the pics) It was perfect for my wife and I. Both the fold out bed and the regular bed were firm and comfortable. Shower was hot and strong, although with my being 6'1, it was a tad short, which I've grown used to in Europe, but it uses a hand held shower head, so it wasn't any type of problem. Roseline left a bunch of books on Paris on her bookshelves, which were nice to look through.
My wife hurt her knee on our second day and was laid up for a day. There is not only a pharmacy 5-10 minutes walk away, but a medical supplies place one street from the pharmacy. That really helped for me tending to her unforeseen injury. There also are a couple of grocers nearby, which also is a great benefit. We travel quite a bit and this has been one of our favorite places to stay. Our only regret not being able to say goodbye to Roseline in person.
Thank you so much Scott for your nice comments. You ll have to come back 🤣 to say goodbye. It was my pleasure too to meet so nice people.
Hope to see you again.
Charming Flat in a Perfect Location!
Roseline’s flat is very charming, as is Roseline herself! She is incredibly accommodating and helpful. As we got to know the city after an 8-day stay, we were so happy we chose Roseline’s flat, because we cannot imagine a more perfect location. You are close to Notre-Dame, d’Orsay, the Louvre, and hundreds of incredible restaurants. Best of all, you are just two blocks from a Metro stop which is also served by the RER line that runs to Charles DeGaulle airport.
Yes, the four flights of stairs were challenging, particularly at the beginning of our stay, but as the days progressed, we found them easier and easier to manage. If this overweight, middle aged woman and her 70-year old husband can do them, then so can you! Also, the lovely balcony makes those steps SO worth it. We spent many early evenings out there enjoying delicious French cheese, baguettes, and wine before we headed out for the night life.
We hope to return to Paris in the next few years, and when we do, we’ll be contacting Roseline!
Ideal place in the Quartier Latin.
Location: very difficult to match since it is the heart of the QL. In a super quiet street; if you leave towards the Seine you will be seeing what it seems to be a Paris postcard: artists selling their art by the river, surrounded by wonderful buildings. To the left you'll find yourself walking on small streets packed with bars, great restaurants, cozy stores, and half dozen of places making crepes...
The apartment. It is in perfect shape and is ideal for up to 4 people. Only one caveat: four flights to climb. My mother in law is 76 years old and she tolerated the climbing very well; many others her age won't be happy with the "exercise".
The host. Roseline is beyond attentive: didn't have the chance to meet her personally (she also takes vacations!) but we exchanged many messages/emails. She would answer within a couple of hours with super-helpful info. She even called a restaurant to make a reservation for us:). In brief, she is absolutely awesome.
Important practical information. There are few super markets within walking distance. The nearest is a Carrefour Express on 15 Rue de Buci. On Sundays it opens AM only, and it is open up until 11:30 PM on weekdays.
I hope my review is helpful. In summary, excellent location, impeccable apartment, even better host:).
We could not have stayed at a better location in Paris! The Seine was a few steps from our place and we were in walking distance to all the great restaurants, Notre-Dame, museums, galleries, metro, etc. The three of us slept very comfortably on the pull out couch and the bed. We loved having our wine on the patio located off of the kitchen each evening before heading out for dinner. We will definitely try to stay here when we return in the future.
Great location, nice apartment, close to everything
This is a great apartment in a very convenient and central location. Staff were very friendly and helpful - thank you!
Metro St. Michel and Odeon
RER B direct access to Charles de Gaulle Airport and Orly less than 100m.
Bordering the Seine river, in the immediate neighborhood of Notre-Dame, the Louvre, the Centre Pompidou, the St. Sulpice church, the Luxembourg gardens, the musée d’Orsay, this flat, in the heart of St. Germain des Prés/Quartier Latin, the most picturesque, lively and historical area in Paris is exceptionally located. The highlights of Paris can be reached by foot : Restaurants (both typical bistrots and traditional French grande cuisine), art galleries, illustrious coffee shops (le Procope, les deux magots, l’Alcazar…) luxury boutiques (Dior, Sonia Rykiel, yves St. Laurent…) or prêt-à-porter, open-air markets (rue de Seine or Boulevard Raspail), famous bookstores…
For your daily requirements, in addition to the markets, you’ll find a supermarket rue de Seine and three bakeries around.
Students from the nearby universities, locals, tourists, shops opening late in the night, street musicians, all gather every night in the streets around and make this extraordinary and joyful nightlife. You’ll enjoy this but won’t have its drawbacks: the flat, located in a mainly pedestrian , peaceful and picturesque street overlooks the courtyard. The gate (with security code) opens on the entrance hall with its beautiful stone walls and the wooden staircase: At the 4th level, the flat opens onto a small entrance hall, a confortable bedroom with a 160 cm wide bed , the bathroom, separate toilets and a wooden staircase leads to the 5th floor with the living room (luxury sofa bed), kitchen and terrace. It therefore offers a welcome independence between the two sleeping areas.
