This was our first trip to the Cote d'Azur and so we were pleased to find the house very centrally located to the old city of Antibes, the breathtaking walk around the Cap d'Antibes, the perched villages of Gourdon and St Paul de Vence. There was also some very good hiking north into the Pre-Alpes. Don't miss Boucherie Rondelli in Valbonne for great take out. Our host Christian was very helpful in pointing out the best sites in the area. And it was a very quiet neighbourhood.
Antibes is one the best place to tour around and discover French Riviera.
The house is in a small countryside not to far from the resorts along the sea side
(20mn walk to the a sandy beach)
Good house, great location.
Comfortable house in private grounds. Christian is a wonderful host, friendly and helpful but not intrusive. If you are looking for a property with easy access to Cannes, Nice, Monaco and many other interesting places this is the house for you.
Amazing and relaxing. You need a car to really enjoy the area but the house was amazingly clean and had everything you need for a truly relaxing French Riviera vacation. Thank you Christian for making us feel at home and for the amazing bread.
A big thanks for your great review.
French Riviera is seen best of course with a car as there are so many places to see in a fairly small area (70 kms around Antibes ). And some of them, you can only go with a car anyways.
Amzing Holiday and House
The house is lovely. Very well equipped and clean. My 2 young boys loved the huge box of toys including a giant Playmobil castle. Christian was always available and only next door if you wanted anything or needed any information. There has been a fence put up since these pictures were taken and unfortunately it means the trampoline is no longer in viewing distance, although it can still be used, but I didn't like to not be able to see our children. I thought the trampoline and tree houses were in 'our' garden but they are not. And the tree houses are perhaps a little too dangerous for very young children. But apart from that the stay was fantastic. Christian was very happy for me to nip over to his and print out our boarding passes at the end of our stay. The garden is quite magical, especially early morning and early morning, lovely smells and noises of nature. The garden is super equipped for adults and children alike. We all had a great stay and although Antibes was very busy, it is far enough away for a peaceful holiday. And lots of places nearby to visit. WONDERFUL!!! And Thank you Christian and family
Big tanks for these comments! The best time of the year to come to French Riviera is in May, June and September.
House is very good eqiuped. This is very important. We arrive when all shops were closed. And we dont have to by soup for hand wash, cofee sugar etc. nesessary small things. Good territory small garden in front of the house and huge open teritory around, we needed a car with 2 kids.
Make people happy when they are on vacation is our main goal.
Spacious and comfortable with a charming owner.
To be recommended without reservation. Set out of the way but only a 20 minute walk to Juan les Pins and a 10 minute drive to Antibes, staying here was a real treat. Christian, the owner, managed the balance of ensuring that we had everything we needed whilst not intruding perfectly. Almost adjoining is a tree house, which our children loved. It had the advantage that it could be readily monitored by Mum and Dad (mostly from a lounger). There's a bakery approximately 2km away, which you can easily walk or jog to and it's very good even by the high standards of the competition.
In the tree house, threre is even a school desk of the fifties and a walkway to another tree house.
See the map (Terrain)... Coming out from the tollway, take the D35 towards Juan les Pins. Then,at one of the roundabouts, go towards 'Cannes Golfe Juan'. At the end of a great descent turn left on the roundabout named 'Chapelle de St Jean' towards 'Route de St. Jean'. 700m. after, turn at 'Boulevard Pierre Delmas' on the right. Drive 400m and turn on 'Traverse de Fontmerle' on the the right and go up almost to the end of the street. The house you see on the map homelidays is at number 322 is the beginning of the dead end but in fact we are located further up at 3/4 of a hill, after a group of houses and mail boxes where you have a gravel road with palm trees on your right. A wooden sign 'Les Ruchottes' indicates the beginning of a gravel pathway of the property. The house is 100m further on your left just before where the pathway is going downhill, passing in front of another house. Two twins palm trees await you at the parking spot of the house.
' Marineland, Antibes Land and old Antibes: port, Fort Carré, Musée Picasso, Musée Peynet, le Bastion etc. 'Sentier de Tirepoil' on the sea side starting from 'Plage de la Garoupe' at the 'Cap d'Antibes' 'Phare de la Garoupe': lighthouse where you have a very good vew of French Riviera. Other goodies like all the coast in French Riviera and the back country with its typical villages and mountains.
