Giovanni extremely helpful and accommodating from our first enquiry to check out-nothing was too much trouble. Apartment had everything needed and could easily accommodate family. Agree with others that stairs could be an issue if mobility problems or young children but this to our mind is more than compensated by location and stunning views. Terrace was wonderful plus. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family.
Without question, #5 via al Porto, is THE place to be for unparrelled sunsets, within a yard or two above of the fishing boats in the inner harbour with a large balcony surveying piazza Columbo and facing west to the beautiful church and fortress. The apartment is in an ancient house in historic old town and proved to be perfect for our stay, one week after the famous "fish fry" of Saints Prospers and Fortunato right in front of the balcony. The pluses are many: bright,light.cheery.uncluttered. Our host Giovanni de Marco was very kind and attentive, picking us up from Genos airport and delivering us back to the Genoa train station a week later, Camogli was not crowded in May and it would be terrific to return. There is too much to see in just one week. However it would be unfair not to mention that the staircases in this old building are naturally narrow, steep and worn, a challenge for those unfit and impossible for the obese. The kitchen is worn but functional. The price, reasonable even with two of us in a three bedroom apt. The photos on site belie the true charm. Highly recommended.
This apartment was a dream come true. Modern, updated, clean, with views from every window. The private terrace was large and breath-taking. We had our meals and sipped wine watching the sunset from the terrace. Great views of the harbor and town square.
Centrally located - stones throw to the ferry that takes you to San Fruttuoso, Portofino, and Cinque Terre (summer months only). Few minutes walking to train station. Two minute walk to bus stop which we took to Rapallo.
Giovanni was responsive, friendly, generous, and a wonderful host. He provided a crib and gates to guard our babies from the stairs. The outer bedroom facing the harbor does get noisy but not a problem with earplugs.
Best apartment in Camogli!!! Favorite apartment of all our multiple trips to Italy!!
Don't miss Pasta Fresca Fiorella - we took out pasta from there daily for our lunches. Our best dinners were at Restaurant CuCu, Ristorante Rosa, and Ostaia da o Sigu
If you have strollers and a lot of luggage as we did, coming from the train station walk down Via Della Repubblica to the end, until you see a winding circular road spiraling down to sea level. Turn left on that road into the harbor and turn left. The apartment is on your left underneath the arches. This route has no stairs.
The apartment was wonderful and close to all amenities.--- especially for the friendly Bistingo bar across the piazza to have breakfast and aperitivos in! The balcony was super and was a big social bonus.
A kettle would have been handy to have but everything else was there.
The apartment info states that it is wheelchair accessible but there is no way this is possible as the steps up to the apartment are very steep and uneven.
We didnt meet the owner but the lady who met us was very helpful. We would definitely stay there again and Camogli is a magical place.
"The apartment is excellent and includes a fine bathroom with a great shower. The owner, Giovanni, is very kind and helpful. The location of the apartment is nice with a balcony directly to the harbor. The only negative with this apartment is that the bedroom closest to the harbor and the square nearby is a bit noisy at night. We had a wonderful stay in Camogli."
"An apartment in excellent state of preservation, lovely renovated and equipped with a good bathroom with great shower. The location is unique, with a balcony directly to the ludic harbor. You are actually in the center of activity in Camogli, both with regard to the daily life as well as the night life. A serene peace at night is therefore not to be expected, but if you''re looking for that, you better book a property somewhere high on a mountain.
Giovanni, the owner is friendly and helpful, and genuinely interested to make everyone happy. All in all we had a great week and we enjoyed the Italian life to the fullest.
Oh yeah, parking in Camogli (in high season) is not easy, sometimes causing some exercise is required to get to your car. On the other hand, it is very easy to have the bakery, butcher, etc. just 10 meters away from your front door. For a good fish restaurant we recommend "Da Paulo", it’s around the corner and we had the best fish ever!
