Just a few km from the villa you can reach the main beaches of scopello area . In The villa, with a swimming pool, there are three double bedrooms, a large living room with sofas bed, a huge kitchen and two bathrooms with both shower and bath, with the capacity of hosting up to 10 people confortably. The car parking is inside the villa. The entrance to the villa is next to the cozy garden cared in a Mediterranean style, in the middle of which is the new swimming pool with a new system of the sterilization of the water . The swimming pool is equipped with an outdoor shower. The inside of the house, is very cool thanks to the air conditioning. The villa is very spacious, comfortable, decorated in a very simple way, nice pictures and old potteries that makes the villa special and extraordinary, and makes also the staying in Villa Gulliver’s nest peaceful, easy, and immediate. Moreover, the area in which it is located, puts the vacationer in a position to have many alternatives, such as: how to choose to live his staying , relaxing inside the villa but still in contact with nature, or reaching in a few minutes some of the most beautiful beaches in the area such as: Guidaloca Beach, the Faraglioni, Mazzo di sciacca and last but not least the natural reserve dello zingaro which is one of the most beautiful pearls of Sicily.
Our time at Gulliver’s Nest was magical, and all of the credit goes to the wizard behind the scenes, the proprietor, Giovanni Rappa.
The magic began the moment we stepped into the villa; Giovanni met us at the door with a Rappa specialty--homemade lasagna and a salad fresh from his garden. His homemade wine mellowed us into Sicilians within moments. What a great start to our vacation!
Gulliver’s Nest is a spotless, spacious villa, beautifully furnished with contemporary furniture and ‘found’ architectural elements from Giovanni’s travels around the world. We especially loved the kitchen with its 100-year-old windows, beautiful carved wooden cabinets and marble-topped double-island. The kitchen is huge and well equipped—the perfect space for any level of culinary expertise. A plus for us is the long wooden table, large enough to fit our whole party and several dinner guests.
We had many opportunities to entertain guests and Giovanni made each event special by surprising us again and again with gifts from his kitchen. One day it was a jar of sun-dried tomato pesto to be eaten with fresh pasta and tuna. Another day was an extravaganza of sausage, pork, meatballs, potatoes and peppers prepared on site just for us on two large lava rock cooking surfaces. Incredible!
Giovanni makes sure that all of his guests’ needs are met. The furniture in the villa is lovely and well maintained. The beds are comfortable. Plenty of linens are provided. The villa is very airy and well laid out, there is ample room for everyone to gather in the main rooms and plenty of nooks if you want to get some privacy.
Gulliver’s Nest is in the quiet neighborhood of Fraginesi. Fraginese is just off of the main roads, so we could choose between staying at the villa for lazy, sunny afternoons on the chaise lounges by the pool; or hopping over to the crystal clear Guida Loca beach nearby; or day trips exploring the many foreign influences that have created the unique Sicilian culture - ancient Greeks at Segesta, Elymians at Erice, the Arab markets in Palermo, the Byzantine beauty of the Cathedral of Monreale.
We had an amazing, fun filled vacation and can’t wait to come back to both Giovanni and the lovely Gulliver’s Nest. We’re already planning our next trip. I’m ready for Christmas in Sicily!
The Villa is beautifully landscaped and the interior is very comfortable. I found myself referring to it as "home" on several occasions! The Villa was impeccably clean as were the linens and appliances. The mountain views from the Villa are breathtaking! Our Host was very gracious and accommodating.
The house was wonderful. Very comfortable and was great for our group of people. We were able to entertain and used the outside dining area a few times as well. Pool was nice to have even though we mostly went to the beach. Giovanni was a great host! He checked on us often and cooked delicious food for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sicily and Gulliver's Nest was a big part of the reason we had such a fantastic vacation!
The house, a single storey building was delightful with loads of space; 3 large truly double bedrooms, a huge living area and massive kitchen. Everything was clean and tidy with cleaning materials provided (unusual in our experience). Outside the garden was secluded with high fences and a secure gate. The pool was a reasonable size for cooling off and the furniture was all brand new and of high quality. What was exceptional though was the owner; he welcomed us on arrival with a simple, but delicious lunch. He then entertained us to a further lunch half way through our holiday and finally gave us a full dinner at the end. His cooking was excellent with all local ingredients and he was a genial and entertaining host, as for his language skills, they were amazing switching between Italian, English and French in one conversation. Overall a delightful place to stay as a base for a holiday in Sicily.
"Just back from a wonderful stay in Sicily. When we arrived, the owner greeted us with a fantastic dinner - turns out he''s a professional chef! We also found a welcome basket on the table with gifts orange marmalade (made with Sicilian oranges of course) and lemons and home grown vegetables from the garden at the Gulliver''s Nest villa. The owner also speaks perfect English and was great at giving us advice and tips on where to visit and the best places to go. The rooms are well maintained, and beautifully decorated with patchwork curtains made of fine fabrics. Great place to stay. We all had a wonderful time and would definitely come back - thanks Giovanni!"
take the motorway...,The villa is situated between the airport of Trapani Birgi and Palermo airport which are only about 40 km away form the villa.
At the owner's discretion,he reserves the right to surprise their guests with special dinners, not only to give a special welcome, but to leave an unforgettable day at villa gulliver’s nest. The oner is a very professional cook.
