About the property

Wine Country Living in Central Healdsburg

This very comfortable three-bedroom home is perfectly located right in the heart of Dry Creek Valley at the beginning of Dry Creek Road and just two miles from downtown Healdsburg, as well as minutes from hundreds of nearby wineries, including the flagship of the Wilson Artisan Wineries family, Wilson Winery!

The guest house was originally a 1950's ranch house, which has been recently updated with tasteful and simply decorations.

When you first turn off of Dry Creek Road and onto the darling little one lane country road, passing by horses, chickens and miniature donkeys along the way, you instantly feel like a local.

Once you've reached the home and walk up the redwood porch and into the house, you immediately enter the living room area, which has a 5 person leather sofa and linen upholstered armchair, as well as wireless internet and many DVD's and board games. Straight off the living room is the dining room and kitchen, complete with a brand new fridge, gas stove, dishwasher, microwave and a tea and coffee maker. Just beyond in the back storage area, you will also find a washer and dryer, complete with detergent and dryer sheets.

Each of the three bedrooms have their own California king size beds. The master en-suite features a private bathroom and a beautiful rain shower, as well as a small day bed, perfect for an afternoon nap or a young child.

The house is also well equipped with iron and ironing board, sturdy pots and pans, flatware, wine glasses and coffee mugs, dishes, and serving ware.

When venturing outside, a lovely relaxed patio awaits in your own secluded yard, rich with green grass, as well as a deluxe gas BBQ.

As an added incentive, all of our guests receive a complimentary tasting at any of the Wilson Artisan Wineries just for staying with us. And with six of the wineries located within a 15 minute drive of the house, the options are plentiful!

Please note, children are welcome to stay at the home, though the property is not childproofed in any way. In addition, we do allow pets, though additional fees would apply.

A nice hidden getaway

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I with two other couples had a chance to stay a weekend for a wine tasting experience. We live local and it is always nice to play in our own back yard. Everything was great from the first evening when I accidentally locked the front door by habit, and our friends could not get in. I too forgot the key back at the house. We were in Healdsburg getting ready for dinner and I had to call Rosie to have someone get over to the house to unlock the door while we were out having a great time. She was wonderful and took care of our situation. I so appreciated it! The house was comfortable, beds quite comfortable and we felt like a private oasis. That particular weekend we were hit with huge rain storms and the only complaint I have is I think due to the abundance of water, might of backed up the sewer system because when you walked out of the front door it was a terrible stench. Everything OK inside the house. We also had a private tasting with Sawyer Wilson and I can't even begin to tell you how much fun we had with him! It was top notch and would come back! Thank you for a memorable experience!

Owner's Response: Hi Marlot, thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with a review. With the new fence, especially, the home now definitely has that oasis feel and we're so glad that you enjoyed the privacy down our little one lane, country road. Sawyer has also commented about what fun he had serving as your tour guide and we definitely commend your group for braving the storm, while also maintaining such great spirits in the process. The storm would certainly be what led to the smell in the neighborhood, but all was quickly resolved as soon as the rain subsided. We hope you'll come back and pay us a return visit real soon, though maybe in the sunshine this time around. :-) Until then!

Clean, comfortable and just outside town.

  • 5 of 5

It was a perfect get away for locals. I had friends come in from out of the area to go wine tasting. I didn't have to worry about cleaning my house before they arrived or after their departure and I also had a little get away with my husband. We were able to share the beauty of Sonoma County and the night life of Healdsburg because your just outside town. Hit "Big Johns" Market on Dry Creek Road just before heading to the house and you will find just about everything you need in the kitchen to stay in for dinner. Our plans were to eat in town, but we enjoyed the house so much we decided to eat in and enjoy our company. The beds are spectacular, so plan for a little leisure time in bed.

Owner's Response: Hi Joan, thank you so much for the great feedback. We love being able to share our home with people from out of town, as well as fellow locals such as yourself looking to show off our stunning county to their visitors, so it's a great privilege to be able to provide the base for you to offer the latter. Big Johns is definitely a favorite of mine, so that's wonderful you were able to visit their store and load up on their many fresh ingredients (the guacamole is exquisite!) for a cozy dinner in. We hope you'll come back to visit again real soon! All the best.

The pictures on VRBO were not reflective of the property. Mediocre property at best.

The house is good size and very clean. The location is not optimum. The rooster crowing early morning is disturbing. The neighbor directly in the back detracts from the use of the backyard. The tv has cable but very few channels. Basic cable made tv of little use.

Owner's Response: Hi Ernie, thank you for the review and we do apologize if the house did not meet your expectations during your stay. All of the photos are very representative of the property, however, as the majority were taken by myself and with my own camera, so no special lenses, etc. were used. In addition, the home is actually as close to Healdsburg as legally allowed and down a very quaint one lane, country road, passing by horses and, even, miniature donkeys along the way. Being in the country, we are sometimes awoken by the crow of roosters, though we find this to be a very unique facet of life up here. We will look to ask if they can maybe keep it a bit quieter in the future though. :-) Lastly, the use of the backyard, from the terrace to the grass, is entirely for our guest's use, so although this particular neighbor is out of town on most weekends and stays pretty much to himself otherwise, I am sorry that the presence of other people in their home made you feel hesitant to enjoy the space. With that said, we are looking to insert a fence along the perimeter in the near future, so hopefully this won't detract anyone else moving forward. All the best!

An Awesome choice for our needs.

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property to celebrate the 75th birthday of six dear friends who had met in kindergarten in 1945. Our wish for a property was easy access, one level of living quarters and a cozy at home feel. This property is all of the above with great beds, super clean and had nearly all of the kitchen equipment we could hope for. Could of used a sided baking sheet and metal spatula and champagne glasses. We will be booking for our 76th birthday gala. A great place to just sit, reminise and drink some Wilson wines.

Dry Creek Getaway

  • 5 of 5

I can't speak highly enough about this property. My family and I come to Dry Creek annually and have stayed at wineries, hotels and - like this - private rental homes. I loved how this house was simultaneously tucked away in the Valley and conveniently close to downtown Healdsburg; usually these traits that are mutually exclusive. Not here.

The block also has Donkey. So, there's also that. A+ experience all around.
