Beautiful villa, complete with everything we could possibly need (including a cocktail shaker) in a stunning location. Local highlights are Paradise Beach. Kaisers Throne, and Bellisimo restaurant inn Corfu town, with excellent homemade food and friendly service. Quite simply our number one holiday! Thanks very much.See our entry in the villa folder for our coctail creation "Corfu Colada"!
Great location with wonderful open views, an ideal spot for exploring the island. The villa was better than we could have wished for, with all the home comforts and exceptionally clean. The gardens and terraces were very well cared for and the pool was very well used by all the the family. The owners were very helpful and would happily recommend the villa.
The villa is in a peaceful location but does not feel isolated. The views are wonderful and there s even a glimpse of the sea. The pool and the garden are lovely to relax around and both are well tended.Inside the villa, there is everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. It felt more like someone's home than a holiday let. It was great to find plenty of coat hangers and more than the usual four mugs! The Welcome pack was a lovely surprise and I know that many owners supply these at an additional cost.
About a mile down the winding road there is a supermarket which is useful for buying items after a day's sight seeing. The bus stop across the road from the supermarket will take you into Corfu town if you want a rest from driving .
Corfu is a beautiful island and the Villa is in a good location to access many places.
We would not normally consider staying somewhere twice, but we would make an exception with Villa Callsto.
Husband, son and myself stayed in the villa from 31st August to 12th September 2016 and can honestly say that the moment of arrival, late at night to a tranquil pool area and garden lit up to perfection, was indeed a moment to treasure. Villa Callisto is beautifully appointed and so homely. The pool is sparkly clean and the spacious terraces with colourful surrounding gardens are abundant with interesting wildlife. We were joined by Toad, Lizard and swallows dipping in the pool. The views are amazing. You do feel like you are on the top of the world. We cannot thank Margaret enough for such a wonderful holiday. Julie Ann 'lady that does' is very friendly and so easy to get along with. Incidently, the welcome pack was an absolute feast!! Never had such a healthy one in any other accommodation before. We found lots of good local restaurants frequented by the locals and so reasonable. True Greek dining experiences. To sum up Villa Callisto is definitely our number one.
Such a beautiful villa in wonderful surroundings, loved the pool. Villa very clean with everything we could possibly need and more besides. Good tavernas nearby, especially Parisido, a Greek taverna very reasonable prices. Lovely beaches very close by, Pelekas, Glyfada and Paleokatrista . We would definitely recommend this property if you like a peaceful holiday with stunning views and a lovely place to stay.
This is the second time we have stayed here at Villa Callisto and often revisits tend to disappoint. but in this case it has remained just as good as ever. In fact i think we enjoyed our stay more than before. The villa is spotless and well appointed. positioned centrally on the island - its the perfect place to base yourself to explore. You will need a car but once mobile there is nothing too far and there are plenty of great places to eat and visit.
the kids loved aqua land and if you are there for 2 weeks a 2 day pass is cheaper than 2 afternoon visits when the price drops.
great beaches , restaurants, supermarkets, butchers, bakeries are all within easy reach.
The pool was used all day every day by the kids and there was even a wild tortoise found in the garden.
the villa affords fabulous views of the Ropa Valley below, and as its situated on a hill the daily 3.30pm corfu wind offers beautiful respite to the hot sunny days.
Having worked in the travel business for over 20 years i can honestly say you can't really do any better than sip a chilled wine on the terrace enjoying the wonderful view and smiles on the faces of the kids in the pool.
Just returned from a fantastic week at the Villa Callisto. The villa is in a beautiful spot affording fabulous views of the landscape. It is well equipped, we couldn't have asked for more, the attention to detail i.e. having plugs, binoculars, board games, cards, hairdryer, battery chargers, washing machine, iron etc. There was even a volleyball and inflatables for use in the pool, the list is endless.
The pool was cleaned and gardens tended to every day by Spiros who we only met once since he arrived so early.
The villa is central and not to far a drive to any of the recommended places to visit. Aqualand is 5 minutes away by car and good value if you go after 230pm. Be sure to visit the nearby villages of Pelakas, Lakones, Paleokastrista, Agios Gordios to name a few. The views are breathtaking (especially from Lakones, if you can handle the drive up the narrow winding road, its so worth it). We had the best meal and the warmest of welcome at Stevens on the Hill in Agios Gordios and took a fantastic boat trip at Paleokastrista into the caves.
All in all a fabulous villa, one of the best we have stayed in.
Thank you Margaret and John , we hope we will visit again one day.
