About the property

Period farmhouse, 2 beds, lounge, kitchen, large gardens & full of character!

Mill Farm is one of the oldest properties on the (sometimes sunny) Isle of Cumbrae. Recently refurbished throughout, the property is located in the popular tourist town of Millport. The accommodation is very generous, which is sometimes difficult to find on the island. There are two upper bedrooms, comfortable guest lounge (with freeview tv, good selection of books, dvds, games etc), large kitchen on the half-landing (with microwave, cooker, fridge, separate freezer) and a large modern bathroom (with shower), on the ground level. The owner occupiers live in their own accommodation on the ground floor. The beach is less than 30 seconds from the front door & there are sea views from the upper rooms. We have private parking for several cars & a very large barn to store bicycles or even a boat! Guests are also encouraged to enjoy the extensive private walled gardens, including a small rear orchard. There are 2 bedrooms (with two double beds & a single), which will suit a MAXIMUM of 4 persons. Because of the impressive Victorian staircase, the accommodation may not be suitable for very young children (if you are planning to reserve a stay with children, please contact us first, before booking, to confirm suitability). Complete with all the amenities you would expect, including wi-fi. There are modern usb charger ports in all the rooms. Hair driers, bedding & towels are provided for no extra charge. The only house rules are no smoking (inside) & the accommodation is solely for the use of booked guests (additional guests or visitors are not permitted on the premises under any circumstances). Sorry no dogs or stag/hen parties. Our check-in time is 2.30 pm & check-out 11.00 am. If you are looking for a spacious peaceful holiday retreat, then look no further. Welcome to Mill Farm!

What makes this farmhouse unique

Mill Farm provides very spacious accommodation & is decorated in a traditional manner, with all the modern conveniences you would expect. It is set within large private grounds, offering a peaceful haven, on a sometimes busy little island. Just a stones throw from the beach & a few minutes walk into town. What more could you wish for!

Quiet, peaceful and close to the sea.

Set in a beautiful garden which guests are encouraged to enjoy, the apartment forms part of an old farmhouse only yards from the sea. All the rooms are well appointed and BT wifi is available without additional charge. The hosts MIchael & Brian were keen to do anything to make our stay enjoyable.

The island itself comprises one main town and some very pleasant countryside. Its only 10 mikes around but its a great place for cyclists and walkers.

Stunning property!

This is a beautiful house on a beautiful island. The owners have thought of everything possible to make your stay as good as it can be. Plenty of space, beds are super comfy and gardens are beautiful. A hop skip and a jump and you are in Kames bay and the views are spectacular. Can't say anything more than just..
