Why James Manson chose Tywyn
Hafod-wen is a very peaceful and quiet location with great views all round and easy access to the nearby coast and beeches, it appealed to us when we first saw it in 1996 and still has something special today. There are many pleasant walks adjacent to the property and we are surrounded by farm land with sheep, cattle and wildlife. The nearby Dysini Estuary attracts many species of bird.

Peace and tranquillity in abundance.
Very comfortable and warm with plenty of space inside and out. The star lit nights were amazing and with the surrounding peace you could drift into your own thoughts.
Dear Mr Beasley Sandra & I are very pleased you enjoyed staying at Hafodwen, I agree with you on a clear night the night sky is amazing, trust we may see you again sometime.
Kind Regards Sandra & Jim Manson
A fantastic, relaxing week
This was a pretty last-minute booking and we came up trumps. Very comfortable accommodation, and the enclosed back-garden is great for those with small kids. The kitchen was well-equipped for self-catering and Jim and Sandra were very friendly and helpful hosts. Highlights included the Talyllyn Railway, the Mawddach Trail by bike, Dolgoch Falls, the Centre for Alternative Technology and Barmouth Beach. Highly recommended.
Excellent family accommodation in a stunning location
We had a really enjoyable week at the cottage which is well located for the unspoiled beaches and mountains of south Snowdonia. We loved the panoramic views of the hillsides and having a lawn for the children to run around. The cottage was clean and comfortable with a friendly welcome from Jim and Sandra. Would love to say again.
Great Location for exploring South Snowdonia
The accommodation is ideal for a family of 4 looking to self cater. The property is in a great location, quiet with lovely views across to Cadair Idris. Jim and Sandra were great hosts. They were helpful, giving us tips on the local area. There are some stunning natural areas to visit nearby. Ideal for walking, hiking and cycling. There's also great beaches and stunning Estuary views at places like Barmouth nearby.
Lovely cottage. Beautiful surroundings.
Thank you Jim and Sandra for having us! :)
A wonderful retreat!
This lovely barn conversion nestling on a hill with fabulous views of the mountains is the utmost in peace and tranquillity. Warmth, comfort and wonderful cake on arrival! Sheep for neighbours and no road noise anywhere. The owners are very friendly and helpful and don't mind if you invite in their dogs or their cat. We have just enjoyed a short break there and would definitely go back again. Pam & David, Shropshire
