Description

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cottage in Jensen Beach - JB Pineapple Inn - Cottage

Experience the 'Real Florida!'

'Key West'-style cottage just across the street from the Intracoastal in Jensen Beach. Jensen Beach was the Pineapple capital of America until just a few decades ago. Nowadays it is a capital of culture; a relaxed place with a slightly funky vibe.

The cottage is nice and airy, located right across the street from the Intracoastal Waterway. It has a comfortable bed, kitchenette with plenty of cabinet space, full size refrigerator and stove. There is also a quiet patio to take morning coffee, barbecue or just to lay and bask in the balmy river breezes.

The cottage is located in walking distance to the cool funky downtown, Indian River Park with a Children’s museum and pier into the river.

Dolphin Bar & Shrimp house (live music - real Florida feeling), the Sailing Club and school as well as Marina with boat rental.

Less than 10 mins drive to the beach.

Guest Access

Guests have access to a private patio with patio furnishings and a barbecue grill. Long term guests provide own fuel for grill.

Interaction with Guests

We may be present or in Europe at which point our manager is available.

Getting around

As is the case in most of Florida a car is nice to have but is not necessary to have one for your whole stay because a small grocery store is 2 minutes away and a large one (Publix) is a longer walk but an easy bike ride away. The beach, too, is an easy bike ride and downtown with restaurants and cafes is a ten minute walk.

Very nice place with excellent people running it.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was perfect for me staying my myself and could have accommodated one more person easily. The location is great with a produce market within walking distance and several restaurants and shops within a few minutes drive. The beach is only 5-7 minutes away also. Coral was awesome to work with and very accommodating. She allowed me to stay an extra night at the same rate I had been paying and was willing to allow me to stay longer if I needed, because it had not been booked in that time frame. She was also willing to let me check out late if I needed to. Overall a great place run by even better people and I would definitely recommend it and stay with Coral again in the future.

Owner's Response: Hi Steve Thank you for the nice review and your excellent communication style. It was a pleasure hosting you. You are quite a gentleman. Great vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We were booked for the cottage but there was a booking mix-up so Coral upgraded us to the place next door -- a lovely spacious apartment with everything the cottage promised and more. Coral and Roger were out of town, but we communicated by text and ran into no problems because of it. We have been to Jensen Beach before for long weekends, but this was our first extended visit (7 nights). It was what we hoped for -- great accommodations, really good restaurants in and around Jensen Beach, and a lovely beach a short drive away (nicer than the beach closest to our house in Miami, we have to say). We also made excursions to nearby Stuart and Ft. Pierce (where there is a manatee center -- no manatees sighted by us that day). All in all a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.

Wonderful Cottage Stay

  • 5 of 5

The property was a cozy cottage as described in the photos and description. Great location next to a farmers market and a short distance to "downtown" Jensen Beach. Coral and Roger were both gracious and attentive to our needs. The only incident we had was when the cable wasn't quite working and Roger was extremely prompt and had it working again quickly. He was also very hospitable and we had a chance to visit. He was more than willing to not only fix the issue but then stay and chat with recommendations for restaurants etc. The cottage was clean and comfortable as well. Wonderful stay, wonderful hosts and great location. Highly recommend this cottage and the friendly courteous hosts.

Very happy with our first "snow-bird" experience.

  • 5 of 5

The property was exactly as pictured online. Have read horror stories of problems others have had with the awful condition of their rental. Trust me, no problems here. Very clean and had the amenities needed. Had no problems with the small size of the cottage, either. After all, we're only 2 people who enjoy each other's company, how much room does one need? The owners are very friendly people who keep the area in good shape. Loved the side patio where we enjoyed the Florida sunshine whenever we could. The slow pace of the whole area is just what we wanted while escaping the cold north.

We got to a couple of car shows while down there...one of our hobbies, had a luncheon on the paddle boat just down the road, went to a beautiful botanical garden in Fort Pierce, and visited friends who have migrated to Florida permanently. The local shopping area - grocery store, laundromat, restaurant, etc. was quite close. The produce stand was MUCH closer and a joy to just have to walk a very short distance to get there. Would recommend the "area" to others, but don't want to give up the cottage!

In fact, the whole experience went so well, we're doing a "repeat" next year. See you then.

small but cute no linens offered no communication

It was ok but no communication with owners. No clean linens offered no privvacy

Owner's Response: Brian, you have being quite unfair by saying no clean linnens were offered. Obviously that cannot be true or other guests would have commented on that as well because clean linens are a fundamental neccesity in a guest house How do you and your wife gush and go on about how nice the Cottage was and then go and give 2 stars What could make your visit so different from all the other 7 guests before you who all gave the Cottage five star in their reviews?.. We would never withold linnen from our guests.( know that many of our long term guests bring their own bed linnen and pillows so I usually ask them how much they need) I know that you, and not Judy must have written the review because as soon as we arrived from Europe and I met Judy by the cottage entrance while watering the plants one of the first thing I said was "if you need more towels and linnen please let me know" and before the words were even out of my mouth she replied "Oh, no problem we will wash them with our regular laundry" . I continued to press but she continued to reassure me she would laundry them herself. By the way there was another clean set in the storage trunk by the bed that the housekeeper used to make the bed after you checked out. If you were so troubled by the linnen situation and we were on property 2 of the 4 weeks you spent here why in the world would you not have knocked on our door, sent a text, write an email or just say to me on one of the 5 times or so we spoke about all kinds of things standing by your car hey "Coral, can we have more linnen? " I Know Judy said she would wash them but she is not feeling well " or something like that. 2. To the second point: I spoke with you at least 5 or 6 times, my husband, Roger, at least 3 times in the course of two weeks. You are on holiday we are working and running a business. Did you expect us to sit and hang out and BBQ with you? Most guests enjoy having their privacy and minglling with guests excessively is not our concept here. We simply dont have the time.
