Rose Walk Cottage is a beautiful Cotswold stone cottage, located on a quiet lane in the peaceful village of Upper Oddington, close to the famous market town of Stow-on-the-Wold and with many beautiful walks straight from the front door. Upper Oddington and its neighbour, Lower Oddington, contain two highly regarded pubs, and the well known Daylesford Estate is close by. Rose Walk Cottage is ideally located for exploring the many beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds, as well as further afield places, such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath.
This lovely traditional cottage has many character features, including oak beams, exposed Cotswold stone and a beautiful fireplace, with a wood burning stove. The character of the cottage is complemented by its modern facilities, including wireless internet access, a flatscreen TV and a well presented kitchen.
Rose Walk Cottage sleeps two people, in one bedroom, with a lovely bathroom. There is a garden at the front of the property and an off street parking space is available. The cottage is perfect for a couple looking for a relaxing break in a beautiful village in the heart of the Cotswold countryside.
Booking and payment
Character Cottages is a marketing agency and we do not own or manage any of the cottages listed on our website. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.
For bookings commencing more than 10 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 10 weeks prior to arrival.
All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.
Security deposits are not required (please note that guests are still liable for any damage or additional cleaning required as a result of their actions).
The maximum occupancy of the property is two guests, at any point during your stay. Unauthorised over occupancy is a breach of our terms and conditions and may result in the cancellation of your booking and additional charges. Please consult us prior to booking if you wish to discuss the possibility of having more than two guests at the property.
Infants who sleep in a cot do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions, the occupancy figure may only be exceeded by one additional infant.
Regrettably, pets are not accepted.
Bed linen and towels
Bed linen and towels are provided for guests.
Arrival and departure times
Arrival time is after 4pm and departure time is by 10am. Access is via a key safe, therefore it does not matter if you are arriving late at night.
Bed size and configuration
There is a king size bed.
The bathroom contains a walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin.
Heating, fuel and logs
The property has wall mounted electric heaters and electricity is included in the rental price.
An initial basket of logs is provided for the wood burning stove and further log supplies can be purchased locally.
There is a Freeview TV and DVD player.
The cottage has an allocated off street parking space.
Where a letting exceeds nine nights, a mid-stay clean, bed linen and towel change may be included in the price. Please check with us to confirm. Additional housekeeping services may be available on request.
Child friendly facilities
Guests are welcome to bring their own travel cot and high chair, to accommodate one infant.
Please note that the cottage's garden is not enclosed, therefore mobile infants should be supervised outside at all times.
A small quantity of initial consumables is provided for your convenience (eg. tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, soap, toilet rolls, etc), however, you should not expect the quantity of these provisions to be sufficient for the duration of your stay.
Accessibility, health and safety
The cottage has relatively steep, winding stairs, which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility, or carrying babies, both in terms of their general movement and their ability to quickly exit the house in the event of an emergency. The staircase opens directly into the bedroom.
The smoke detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk.
No smoking is permitted throughout the property.
In order to provide you with as much detail of our properties as possible, we sometimes use wide angle photography, which can make certain rooms, or spaces, appear larger than they actually are. Wherever possible, we try to include a floorplan, with detailed dimensions of rooms and areas.

Cotswold short break
Enjoyed the cottage but feel it was a little overpriced for a mid week November break. We have stayed in the Cotswolds before and experienced better value for money, unlimited logs for the fire, fresh cakes and dairy products for example. It is well situated for the local pub and Cotswolds villages and was clean and tidy

A charming and cozy cottage in the Cotswolds!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Rose Walk Cottage in Upper Oddington for three days in August, 2017, using it as a convenient home base for exploring the many interesting sites. We toured Blenheim Palace, the city of Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon, in addition to exploring the beautiful countryside. The cottage was neat and clean, and everything we needed was provided, including a welcoming bottle of chilled white wine. Thanks for a lovely vacation.
Cosy little cottage in lovely surroundings
The cottage is ideal for a couple to stay. All of the appliances are nice and nothing feels outdated about the place, and it balances this with the lovely wood beams on all the ceilings. I'd recommend staying here for anyone looking to see the Cotswolds, Daylesford and Stow on the Wold are walkable from here with relative ease. Host was very accommodating, even giving us a lift to and from the nearest train station as the taxi service was suspended during our stay. Really really nice play to escape to for a weekend!
Car: Upper Oddington is easily accessed by car, being located a few hundred yards from the A436, which connects the A429 (Fosse Way) and the A44, two of the main roads running through the North Cotswolds.
Train: The nearest railway station to Upper Oddington is Kingham (approximately 4 miles away), which has regular, direct services to London Paddington, with a typical journey time of less than 90 minutes.
Plane: Birmingham International Airport: 48 miles, approximately 60 minute drive; Heathrow International Airport: 71 miles, approximately 90 minute drive; Bristol International Airport: 70 miles, approximately 90 minute drive.
