About the property

960 Sq Ft Mountain Cabin With Hot Tub, Fireplace, Full Kitchen, 2 Porches & Deck

Engagements, honeymooners, anniversary celebrations or just enjoying a quiet getaway! -Totally private, plush mountain cabin nestled on 12 acres, bordering Pisgah National Forest with covered bridge, 25-jet hot tub, gas logs, queen bed with luxury bedding, large bathroom with double shower, 50' TV with full cable package, wireless internet, and gas grill. The cabin is surrounded by hatchery supported trout stream with beautiful landscaping. There are hiking trails leading you through the Pisgah National Forest starting right from the cabin.

The 12 acre property is amazing! You will drive across the covered bridge, through the electric privacy gate and up the long paved drive to the cabin. Experience all of the modern comforts in a peaceful wooded setting at the base of Mt. Pisgah. The fall and winter views of the mountain from the front porch are spectacular. The wooded canopy of oaks, poplar and birch cover the mountain view during the summer months, and provide cool shade for relaxing outside on the porch by the creek, screened back porch or deck.

The cabin is located just minutes away from Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt Pisgah, and the Biltmore Estate. Also, there are many nearby outdoor adventure activities: hiking, whitewater rafting, kayaking, flyfishing, mountain biking, climbing, and waterfall tours.

Spend the day in downtown Asheville dining, tasting our local beers, shopping or people watching.

Great day trips to nearby small towns: Waynesville, Hendersonville, Brevard, Flat Rock, Chimney Rock, Highlands, and Cashiers. Scenic routes to each, with great lunch spots. Enjoy shopping for locally made crafts in the quaint atmosphere of small mountain towns.

About The Owner

I live on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina and love the beach and the mountains. My faith and my family are the most important things in my life. My four pound Morkie, Mikey, runs a close third. I have been searching for the perfect mountain getaway for a couple of years. Having been a real estate broker for 30 years, I knew when I first saw this property---it was perfect! This is a peaceful place where my children, grandchildren, and I will enjoy for many years.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2015

Why The Owner chose Candler

I remember years ago coming to the mountains and driving through Saluda, NC listening to the sound of the stream. I said then, 'I want a cabin on a stream like this someday'.

I was looking on the internet and found this cabin for sale and soon made the trip to Asheville to see it. Driving across the covered bridge with trout waters rushing underneath, the view of the mountains and the private, safe setting all let me know this was the cabin for me. When I stepped onto the twenty-five foot front porch overlooking the steam and sat down in the swing, I made the decision to buy the property. I could see the potential for the perfect mountain escape.

When I purchased the cabin I had no idea all that would need to be done to make it the cozy, warm paradise I was looking for. The house had to be rewired, re-plumbed, a new foundation poured, insulation added, new cabinets and counter top, new appliances, new bathroom and an addition built.

I started planning the renovations and hired the best carpenter in Asheville to make the changes necessary for a romantic vacation retreat for couples to enjoy when I am spending time at my home at the beach.

What makes this cabin unique

This serene property is a 'jaw-dropper'. The spectacular views of the mountains coupled with the sounds of the stream make this one of the most unique places to stay near Asheville. You have total privacy in this exquisitely decorated cabin, yet you are close to downtown Asheville. There is only one step up leading into the cabin, so it is great for couples as they enjoy the adventure of aging. It is such a romantic, quiet setting that couples of all ages will enjoy the comfort of modern day amenities while experiencing the beauty of nature.

Wonderful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is as close to perfect as you can get! It is cozy, comfortable and inviting. They've thought of everything with great attention to detail. The views are relaxing & beautiful. The hot tub was wonderful. The rain kept us from enjoying the trails, but I would highly recommend staying at this property. Once you get here, there's really no reason to leave!

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have picked a better place to stay during our time in North Carolina. The cabin was beautiful and the owner thought of everything we could possibly need to make our stay perfect! Everything was very clean and organized. We loved sitting on the covered deck out back, listening to the running stream flow by. The hot tub was great! The location is perfect! Just a short drive to hiking, grocery stores, and downtown Asheville. We loved our stay and will recommend this place to everyone we know!!

Spectacular!

  • 5 of 5

All the positive reviews are accurate. The surrounding area is gorgeous and the cabin is adorable. In fact, the pictures online do not do it justice, as it is much prettier in person. Enjoyed our stay so much. Perfect 15 year anniversary getaway. The sound of the creek outside is spectacular. Beautiful cabin.

Relaxing Spot off the Beaten Path

  • 4 of 5

Pros:

Excellent Creekside Location, not more than 20 feet adjacent to creek, and about 20 feet up as well.

"Back Porch" looks out over the creek and into the trees, great place to read a book. (since it wasn't bug season, we used this over the smaller enclosed patio).

Well appointed: the furniture was nice and comfy, everything felt good.

Large Shower and generally updated bathroom.

Secluded-ish. It's probably not more than 150 yards to the neighbors house, but you can't make out more than a vague outline through the trees (springtime). At the same time, that means you're not that far from a convenience store/etc.

Hot tub was relaxing and had a view of the creek (if you are tall).

My wife liked the hammock (though I didn't try it out myself).

Cons:

Bed was a little disappointing as it had a noticeable depression.

The window directly over the head of the bed faces the parking area, and associated light-post. This light was bright and streamed through the curtains projecting light right into the sleeping area.

Neighbors have dogs that tend to bark/whine at seemingly every passing car... thankfully there isn't that many! Also, it was oddly easier to hear the dogs when indoors near the bed area than on the porch/deck (where the creek noise dominates - this may be seasonal).

Other Notes:

Bed is not separated from living area. This may not be ideal for any more than 2 people (or people with kids that have a different bedtime than the adults.

Hot tub is a 2 person affair.

Turn right past the gate, as there is another house on the left (unclear if that is a neighbors place or owner's actual residence.)

We didn't get a chance to try out the trails as it was raining for most of our stay.

Probably don't use the TV and fireplace at the same time, seems like the TV gets overheated due to the heat coming off the fireplace.

Fireplace kicks out a LOT of heat.

We'd recommend this for a quiet romantic getaway for a couple looking to de-stress! We had a great time and would stay here again if we're ever back in the area.

Owner's Response: Andrew. Thank you so much for your kind remarks regarding your stay at Pisgah Mountain Creekside Cabin.. There are a few things I would like to respond to. I am at the cabin now for a few days and the minute I walked in I checked the bed and there is no intention. It does have a pillow top high mattress on it and if you possibly put your luggage on there you may see a little indention. Your comment regarding the arrangement not being suitable for children, our headline is Romantic Get-Away For Two. We cater to couples only. That is also the reason for the cozy hot tub for two. We do hope you return soon to enjoy the wonderful trails into the amazing Pisgah National Forest. Peace and blessings, BeJe

Location

The famous Biltmore Estate is only 20 minutes away. Only 16 miles from downtown Asheville, my cabin's property boarders the Pisgah National Forest. Hiking trails through Pisgah National Forest from the cabin!

Hiking trails are abundant only minutes away on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

March to November you can enjoy breakfast at the Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

A favorite downtown shopping spot in Asheville, Hendersonville, and Waynseville is Mast General Store.

Our favorite restaurants are the Admiral and Curate', you must make reservations early though.
